Should You Buy The Canon G7X Mark II in 2024

It seems like most of the big brands have given up on point and shoot cameras. Canon pushed out the G7X MIII and the build quality is a downgrade from the Mark II and somehow they screwed up the autofocus. Sony seems like the only one who is really in the game. The Canon g7X mark II was my go to daily driver and after I destroyed it I needed to replace it. The options are currently slim and I really loved that camera. It was a tough choice between the newer Sony ZV-1 or the G7X mark II. Ultimately I bought both, however I still use my G7X far more than my Sony. But that's just me.

Just scored a LNIB markii earlier on Facebook for $50 under retail which to me is a steal when most post people are trying to fetch $800-1000 for this damn camera. Like you stated at the end of the video I think the biggest factor when deciding to buy this camera was the Classic Canon color science/film like softness look on the stills (which I happen to like) and ease of use/overall form factor compared to my EOS-R with the ‘holy trinity’.
