- This is the Captain America: The Winter Soldier press conference at the Beverly Hilton hotel. We sent a correspondent to cover the event. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel Jackson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Anthony & Joe Russo (Director) and Kevin Feige (Producer) answer questions.

@ they were talking about it like they had already seen the movie and bringing up scenes that they would know about only if the watched the movies. So I doubt this was before it's release.

Happily, this press conference was only the beginning of his journey in stardom--now he's such a major, popular part of the MCU, he headlines many (team cap) press conferences right beside Chris Evans for Civil War! :-D
I know i’m 8 years late, but i don’t know if you know how much Sebastian is loved now. Captain America Winter Soldier and Captain America Civil war are literally deemed as the most loved/best marvel movies ever (they literally revolve around bucky, only happened thanks to sebastian’s character). And also thanks to these movies Sebastian got reallyyy popular and everyone started simping over him (cast literally made jokes about it too) 😭 Since the movies been out he’s all people watch it for. So i guess the underratedness didn’t last long. Absolutely crazy to look back and see 8 years ago Sebastian was so quiet and they had no idea how big this movie would become.

stewieismyhomeboy Yes, because it's all Scarlett's fault or the people's who would like to see more of strong female characters since there are very very little of those. That's the reason why Sebastian was given no questions. (Sarcasm btw).
"see more of strong female characters since there are very little of those" have you been watching film and television in the past five years? We've been inundated with well-written female characters. The problem is these characters aren't given their own films. And obviously she can't answer any questions about that, you'd have to talk to Kevin Feige about that.
And I'm not against Scarlet Johansson being asked questions. I'm getting annoyed with the same stupid question over and over again that seems to be from the year 1995.
And I find that question a disservice, since there's way more depth to her character than just being "strong". She's resourceful, compassionate, clever. She's got a mysterious past that haunts her, but she's working hard on not letting it define her (her arc in this movie, by the way). To only focus on the fact that she shoots stuff and kicks people in the face is so shallow when there's way much more to this character.
stewieismyhomeboy It's you who connected Sebastian not being asked any questions with Scarlett and strong independent female problem in superhero films as if that's the reason for Sebastian's treatment.
It's about time people start to speak up about those deep/ strong/ well developed character roles for women btw even if they annoy people because otherwise nothing will change and we will STILL continue to get stuck with mainly undeveloped female characters as primarily just love interests to the main character that is a man.

The film had two of the characters in the title yet it focused on pretty much every character that wasn't. I felt so bad for Seb watching this, he deserves so much more recognition for the work he did as the Winter Soldier.

If you notice, he seemed a little down at around 13:02 after everyone has moved on to the next question...not sure what Sam Jackson said though..there is another video of this with an angle that showed Sam's reaction when Scarlett said "No" and he was doing a sign like impying that her answer was savage

I'm sick of hearing people talk so much about these "strong female characters." Yes, they are, but you kind of hurt the point of it when you say that. If you are for gender equality and don't want female characters to be looked at differently then stop pointing it out. She's a great character who just happens to be a woman. Characters should just be characters, not "strong female characters."
Marvel is guilty that the one woman out of six Avengers doesn't even have her own movie, so they keep the talk up about how strong she is to try and make people ignore how unequal it is.
Mischa Lecter There is talk of the possibility of her having a stand alone film one day maybe. I think they were just trying to get the ball rolling with their super hero characters first, now they can start taking some risks. I mean, we haven't even gotten a proper Wonder Woman movie yet. It's kinda sad really.
