I'd say, being a communist myself, this song and it's many variations feel different. Rather than aprecciating merely it's melody, and what little I could make out of the lyrics, I aprecciate what it meant to the people of the USSR, and to the working classes of the world. The USSR will most likely never come back, but the people's fight will continue, and hopefully, we'll have something similar to it in the future, near future, I hope.

I'd say, being a communist myself, this song and it's many variations feel different. Rather than aprecciating merely it's melody, and what little I could make out of the lyrics, I aprecciate what it meant to the people of the USSR, and to the working classes of the world. The USSR will most likely never come back, but the people's fight will continue, and hopefully, we'll have something similar to it in the future, near future, I hope.

Many will say that the soviet army was manned by conscripts but the soviet knew about this problem and by the mid 1980s built a professional officer corp of more than 1 million men. This meant that the soviet army would be led much more ably in battle than the red army was led in 1941. The soviet army would perform much better than the red army.
