I have followed you since the first videos, I adore your videos and the app is great, I'm a referee in Canada and I love to watch and learn more. thank you for your effort and keep going !
Penalty incident. Your explanation of why you did not get involved is amazing. For me it’s clear and giving the penalty as the AR seems the obvious thing to do. Learning from your explanation of why not getting involved and leaving it to the referee who is in a great position to give it. Always take stuff away from watching your videos.
About the penalty , most of the times we use buzzers , so my instructions for ARs are if something like that happens - buzz me quickly , but don’t raise the flag , give me your opinion by buzzing and I will go for it if I agree . I am against ARs raising flags on penalties and take the attention and pressure , but buzzing always helps if the AR is good enough and quick enough .
Agree with not flagging the pen as the ref has a decent AoV and distance. I'd immediately be looking forr eye contact with the ref so that I could give a nod (assuming not on comms). When on comms, I might say "pen if you want it", or something similar.
I don’t see why assistant don’t say what they see. The referee is the ultimate decision maker and can take the advice/ seek counsel of his assistants but ultimately the buck stops with him/her. But I’m not a referee. Good work on the videos. I’m 45 and these are inspiring me to perhaps take it up and referee local low level games
When are these going to be up to date vlogs? I understand the vlogs are far from priority but would be good to see from a few weeks ago rather than 6/7 months
Easier to get involved over comms where you can offer an opinion if you've a clear view Otherwise really unless yeve agreed a silent signal over buzzers best not to really get involved in PAIs unless it's blindside or stone waller would be my philosophy and certainly how I've been taught along the way

Thank you for doing these! I always find the, helpful. 👍 I liked your logic on not getting involved in the penalty.
Good stuff. Glad you are making more content on AR. Most people start out as an assistant and there’s not much out there besides the basic signals.

Went to this game as a Hampton fan. Unfortunate end to our season but this was a pretty interesting video to listen to. Great stuff!
It was a good game to be involved it! Last game of the season you just never know what is going to happen!
keep up the good work🙌🙌
Yes please to the flash-lag video!
Great vlog Jon. When will 24/25 games start being uploaded?
Great commentary and analysis to learn from. The video didn’t show the final goal.

Just the 6 months editing time?
We are working our way back through all the games we’ve got!
