Being booed by his own fans probably hasn't helped!!! Regardless whether he should play or not I find it deplorable the way he has been treated by the "fans". I was at England Rugby House in Marseille the friday before the quarter finals and when Farrell was mentioned the room booed him but were quickly put in their place by the players (Scott Quinell, Matt Dawson, Will Greenwood & Ben Kay). An agenda driven by the media and picked up by the mob mentality who just regurgitate opinions they have heard or read. Thankfully he went on to have a decent tournament albeit a little lapse with his clock watching whilst kicking haha.
Not blaming the french, but it was mostly french and opposition fans who booed him, even then there wouldn't be lack of respect from french fans, to them its just pantomime and how they absorb rugby, they boo everyone and its just a bit of fun. That said owen deserves a break and we could all do better at appreciating one of the best to put on the shirt, including myself. I can think of a couple of occasions i thought it was time to move on prematurely, both times the outcome was worse and upon returning england played better. Hope he has a reset and comes back stronger and happier to mentor the two smiths into their era.
Social media has a lot to answer for. In the old days when we just had the mainstream media (Press, radio and TV) you came out with insulting or spitefully offensive comments at your peril, and the sub-editors in these media genres made sure that they were filtered out. But social media has given every dog the opportunity to have their day. I don't see why social media is exempt from the laws about libellous or lying comments. Why aren't the offenders being dragged up into the libel courts?
England will be mince without him.and thats a fact, big joes right, social media is the bog of the internet, just toxic, people are forgetting that rugby is probably the toughest sport out there and owen has just hit that brick wall,he will be back when called
Weird, a month ago every Farrell video always had a bunch of idiots banging on about how he's a thug, a cheat, always kicking and maybe very grudgingly say he's ok at rugby. But now he's retired everyone suddenly loves him. Farrell, don't worry what morons online think about you.
When you watch Joe play and see some of his actions, you don’t really expect the perception and humanity and support that he shows here, obviously not a football player
Wait there? Are you actually seriously asking if he withdrew from the World Cup due to the hassle he got whilst playing in the World Cup? Have a good day Columbo 😂
@@brentmeistergeneral6074 Here we go having to answer another berk hiding behind a pseudonym using emojis. As far as I’m aware this has been going on since before the World Cup, yet it didn’t stop him playing. He’s still playing club rugby, so he’ll still be criticised. Do you think he won’t get it when he decides to play international rugby again, especially if whoever replaces him plays well and gets dropped to make way for him? It’s simple don’t be on social media. Does that answer your question Inspector Morse?

Even though Farrel is the biggest C&NT in international rugby we want him to be selected for England. He gives away at least 4 penalties a game, easy 12 points!!😂😂
We need some big changes in English Rugby. Also all the best to Farrell, he probably needs the break. Love seeing Joe marler ❤️🏉🏴
Nice to see rugby getting a look in on talksport. Too little coverage.
Ive got nothing but respect for Owen. He doesnt deserve the stick he gets
Bloody love Marler, the lad can switch from pure banter to absolute serious relatability in a coin flip, top bloke and player

Yes! Why on earth did Borthwick substitute him?!

Immense

Has anyone called out MATT Dawson as the Farrell hater in chief. ?
Well said Joe - spot on.
A minority can be percieved as a majority if you focus on them.
For the footballl fans this is worse than harry Kane deciding to call it a year at that. Beyond madness
Well said Joe, respect!

Rugby is a much better game in my opinion. But, head injuries and ambiguity around the ruck will kill it off completely in the next decade.
