Came for the movie review, stayed for the trivia. I really didn't know the Satyajit Ray story being the inspiration for ET, but your comment after wards about how everything is copy of a copy is really something that made me introspective about the remake culture that we currently have.

Personally, I do not condemn the recycle value of a content. But to the extent where the remake is a faithful adaptation and has its own voice in depicting the common theme. Like for Laal Singh Chadda, I will leave the prejudice out where I want to see Aamir to be an extension of Tom Hanks, which is impossible and unfair. But if it is a worthy adaptation that has its Indian roots showcased at its truest potential, just as Forrest Gump was an insight into its American roots, I'm all for it. I think that is what remakes should be about, being unique in spite of sharing an identical structure of its predecessor.

I was about to point out the good things about the video in the comments, but by the 9th minute I had lost count. :D However, I really like the way you reference other works in your commentaries. Gloria's cameo was the best for me. And apparently you're still in a "Stranger Things" hangover? The running down the hill reference was really smart. And btw, when I heard the "generational gift" joke, I realized that the gift actually gets stronger with every generation. This franchise proves that the custom those old royal families practised where they weren't allowed to marry outside their community was pure bs. Because the offspring is guaranteed to born with elevated characteristics of the father's DNA. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed your perspective of the movie. I am also a fan of this movie. I also think that Hrithik's acting was fresher in this movie than his performance in "Guzaarish". Good job. Keep it up!

I did not mock the om reference. The sole fact that it was kept in the movie just because of religious causes was my issue. If it was explained scientifically ( the origin of the sound and the significance of it ), i would have had no problem. But it was used as a weapon to encourage religious stuff through a movie. That was a wrong thing to do. No movie should push a certain religion.
