- This year marks 50 years since the Public Broadcasting Service (better known simply as PBS) launched in America and their mission was to educate, enlighten, entertain, and inspire both children and adults alike.
I've grown up with PBS, probably more than any other network I've seen, and if it wasn't for them, I would have never been exposed to the brilliant works of Sesame Street, LeVar Burton, Bill Nye, Bob Ross, and especially Fred Rogers.
If you've been subscribed to my channel for a while, then you may know how I make a lot of videos based on shows from PBS that I have watched as a child. I'm proud to call myself a PBS fan and so I am obligated to celebrate 50 years of what I consider to be "The Station that Taught Me Everything".
Thank you, PBS, for all the work you've done these past 50 years for generations of people, both young and old. PBS will always have a special place in my childhood.

That’s a toughie but my top 5 favorite PBS shows are Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and Arthur.
@@BabyLambCreations my favorites are actually the same.
But I usually like the classic shows.
Including some of the old shows like Square One TV, 3-2-1 Contact, Where in the World is Carman Sandiego, Where in Time is Carman Sandiego, Wishbone, Lamp Chop's Play Along, and The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross.
But sadly, they were never again rerun on TV after they been cancelled.
I miss those show a lot.

I grew up watching every other PBS Kids shows from 90s, 2000s and early 2010s

I’ve been watching and have been a fan of pbs and it’s programs and programming blocks since I was 5 months old in January 1997, and I was born in august 1996.
PBS’ 50th Anniversary came after Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary. What a shame. They could have celebrated their 50th anniversaries together.
Dang, it's crazy to believe that PBS has now been around for 50 years. Thank you PBS for being a big part of many lives for 50 years and beyond.
Thank you for the childhood memories from 1986- 1992.
PBS sure has change over the years.

Before I got Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, There was PBS which I first watch it when I was 2 years old.
