Will most likely react to those videos on a live stream. Not sure when but most likely sooner rather than later.

What's up Newfie, hope you're doing well! I have been watching your channel for a while and I really enjoy your reactions. I decided to start my own reaction channel and will start to create content soon and I was wondering if you had any tips for a beginner like me. Things you wish you knew when you started, things like that. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I'm going under the assumption that you will only be reacting to beatbox content. I can't speak on outside of the beatbox community, although some things would obviously apply to all reaction content.
The biggest thing for me starting off was finding the confidence in being myself. Very early on I was too worried about what people thought about me. If I stumbled on my words I would cut it out of the video. I would hold back my genuine reactions because I felt like people would think I was "overreacting." Eventually I got more comfortable and I stopped worrying about that.
I think having a genuine passion and understanding for the beatbox community can go a long way. Obviously you have been watching for a long time so you would have more insight on things than a reactor would who just entered the community from the outside. Being too analytical could rub people the wrong way though so you have to find that balance.
In terms of the technical side and building your channel, if you can find something that makes you stand out from the rest than will attract new viewers and keep people watching. There is an analytical section in your youtube channel that gives a lot of insightful information. I try new things occasionally to try and get a grasp on the algorithm but ultimately I'm not chasing more views. I just try to have fun and I enjoy the creation process of video making.
One major piece of advice I can give you that I think you should work on immediately is finding your style of thumbnails. That's obviously the number one thing people see and determines if someone clicks on your video or not. It's not too important to existing subscribers and viewers but it hold a lot of weight in bringing in a new audience. You could tell that I switch it up all the time and that is intentional. I use photopea (a free alternative to photoshop) to create mine and I find it very fun to make.
Other than that, I think a lot of it comes down to a learning process that you have to go through yourself. Once you do it enough you get into a sort of rhythm and you find your identity in a way. Don't try to be like someone else, just be yourself and people will come to see that and respect it.
EDIT: One more thing. I had a lot of problems with lighting in my earlier videos. I still have problems occasionally. Lighting can affect the quality of the video drastically. If you're using OBS you an apply filters to your video capture (webcam) that could help out a lot.

@@NewfieBBX thank you so much for such a thorough response. I will be reacting to beatbox and loopstation because I really enjoy the community but also want to branch out into other things like music videos, comedy and whatever else I want to watch because I do want to grow the channel to a point where it can bring a nice income but I do it because I like to react and have the time. I am working on my thumbnails and style so that everything is consistent. And yeah I’ve been using OBS and have been playing around with the lighting and other things, although I’m not tech savvy I have been figuring it out. The latest difficulty I’m facing is adjusting the sound because my laptop has a pretty loud fan and I can hear it in the background and my voice sounds a bit distorted. So I’ve been trying to figure that out. Other than that I think I’m good to start the channel and jump in. Actually the other issue is I have been watching a lot of your content and other peoples so I can no longer react to those videos and will have to wait for new things to come out, will definitely be reacting to GBB etc.

@@TheStudioMouse obs also has filters you can apply to your mic to drown out the fan noise. I use the noise supression and compressor filter and you cant hear my fan anymore for the most part.

@@NewfieBBX Hey Newfie, thanks for your advice, my videos are much better now. I just had another question since I can’t seem to find much info on this online. It’s about tags, when I’m editing a video there’s a spot to put tags but then I don’t see them anywhere. Do I put them in the description as well? Or are those different tags? I’m a bit confused by that.
