    Just got one for my birthday (about a week early.) I got the Sunburst.
    This makes my 10th bass (currently building number 11.) My wife says I have a problem, but she’s an enabler so there’s that.😂
    I haven’t run it though my Rumble yet but, it sounds phenomenal running through my Fender Bassman 10.
    Great unboxing video!

      Happy Birthday! And hey, you can never have too many guitars! Awesome that you're building your own too, I want to do that eventually! My wife has definitely enabled my guitar acquisition syndrome, I hear ya! Again Happy Birthday, thanks for watching and commenting!

    I wanna pick one of these up in the matte red as a mod platform for my home studio. That finish makes me miss my old matte candy apple red Mexican standard Strat from the earl 2000's. I Should have never sold that guitar lol. Duncan quarter pound pickups, a black pickguard, and some decent tuners and that would be a hell of a bass

      Oh yeah, candy apple red looks great on P-basses! I'm sorry that one got away from you. I do agree this could be a great mod project, I've got SD quarter pound pickups and a pickguard in my online shopping cart right now in fact 😁. We are thinking alike! Happy shreddin', and thanks for sharing and stopping by!

      Some people have said the pickups don’t line up with other fenders. May not be great for modding.

      @@SlydeBytes I just ended up ordering one with the sun burst finish lol going to do like a Geezer Butler tribute thing will probably get his EMG signature set. Apparently the routing on these is a little over sized so any fitting issues with the pickguard are pretty easy to work around.

      @@rickyt11010 Nice! Sounds like an awesome mod project!! I read up on the route issue a bit and it does seem relatively simple to fix if you're handy with some tools. Happy thumpin' on your new bass! 🔥🎸

    Hello bro, I'm new to your channel and I like how you gave reviews to your bass guitars. I am planning to buy a new PJ guitar from Jackson (Jackson JS2 Concert Bass) but I saw your review on this Squier Bass and I kinda like it too. Can you help me decide which is better? btw, I'm a beginner bass player. I'm also playing in a band and we play hardcore punk music.

    • @SlydeBytes
      @SlydeBytes  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well you'll get more versatility with the PJ Jackson than this particular Squier. In fact, I've looked at the JS2 and played one and I can say I really like that bass. If you're on a tight budget, there's nothing wrong with the Squier, I'm recording with it now. But on the road, playing gigs, in a band, I think I lean Jackson here for the PJ pickups and overall versatility. Plus, it looks the part for hardcore punk! Hope this is helpful, and thanks for the great question! Happy shreddin'!

      @@SlydeBytes thank you so much for your swift response. I really appreciate your effort replying to my question, this is help much. I'd go with PJ Jackson now. Much love bro. Keep it up!

      @@SlydeBytes Hi mate it's me again, I'm planning to get the PJ Jackson Bass this weekend. Just want to know if you would still prefer this bass for higher gauge strings. coz our tuning is D standard and I'm currently using 50 gauge.

    • @SlydeBytes
      @SlydeBytes  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @danggab Hey there, I definitely don't think it would be an issue to use the heavier strings on that Jackson PJ Bass, but you may need to file the nut slots a little bit depending on how much thicker the strings are. Also may need to do some setup work on the bass to get the action where you like it. All in all though, those are relatively minor adjustments.

    I thought these were fake when i saw them on Amazon, considering it didnt have the store listing on the top of the page. Good to know! Do you think these compare to the 200 dollar squier basses? Thanks

    • @SlydeBytes
      @SlydeBytes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! I was doubtful at first too, but honestly, I really think these are more or less the exact same as the $200 Squier basses, just minus things like the neck stripe, Squier neck plate, and the poly gloss finish. Really, I think that's going to be the big issue for a lot of people, the matte finish is not going to appeal to everyone, especially those who don't like wear. But sound and feel wise, I really think this is on par with the Sonic or preceding Bullet series. I've got a full review coming up Sunday, but overall, I'm pleased. Happy shreddin' and thanks for stopping by!

    This or a donner bass to start off with?

    • @SlydeBytes
      @SlydeBytes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't really vouch for Donner, as I personally have not handled any. But they do seem to be generally well-received. I would say it comes down to that finish. Are you ok with the bass showing some wear and tear over time and really like Fender products? Then the Squier Debut is probably right up your alley. If you want a finish that stays looking pristine for a long time and brand name is a non-issue for you, perhaps the Donner is the better choice. Either way, there's no wrong answer, just personal preference I think. Best wishes!
