    Nice design. I like the dovetail connections.

    Ball bearings are 8mm inner diameter, 16mm outer diameter. The one with the lip is called a flanged bearing. 6 years later and this info was never added to the video, mind boggling!

      Thank you! Do you know if 8x16x5 would fit? Do you also know what generator I should use?

    • @JaredEldredge
      @JaredEldredge 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@2kilian are you asking if the bearings should be 5mm thick? if that's your question, i think it's fine. i just 3D printed some simple bearings to test and they fit fine - obviously not nearly as smooth as proper machined bearings, but it spins freely for about 10 seconds when pushed manually so i think they are good enough for now before adding the extra drag of a motor to acts as a generator. I think if you print this you'll soon hit a technical issue thouhg - the design doesn't work well at all. i took it outside in 15mph winds with occasional stronger gusts, didn't move at all. this was with my 3d printed bearings, but so motor-generator attached, so i think it has less drag now than it would in real application. no joy at all. perhaps it needs to be much larger... but i think i'll shift to another design instead

    I’ll printed it, and it does spin after some modification on the feet to get it more stable and to insert a Generator.

    • @dtdbg
      @dtdbg 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all, just with this one it's plug and print. You have nothing to fix your self and you have long term investment. This is really reliable. However you can still find really reliable machine for 700$ or even less. With ultimaker it's like Apple you pay the experience and the fact that's easy to use.

      I think he meant cm3 - in order to determine, whether this fits onto his printbed!
      Although cm3 would not suffice as information as still it could be to tall or to long et cetera for a certain printer...
      Best would be to look up the dimensions of the actual printable are and thus gaining the wanted information!
