It's nice to see the Commanders finally drafting top tier players and not mid grade guys early. Sucks Kneeland went to the cowboys, that dude is a beast
Minnesota and Atlanta had, by far, the worst 2 drafts this year. Minnesota gave most of their draft not only this year, but next year to get 2 players that will be considered busts in 4 or 5 years from now. And Atlanta drafted, and then traded up to draft what will be considered another couple of busts 4 or 5 years from now.
I care less about how a prospect *might* develop (subjective guesses on physical traits/coaching staff/etc), and more about contract value applied to drafting this position vs. signing or trading for the same, plus team building aspect of percentage hit rate of similar draft profiles and how the team roster might change give various outcomes. I get most draft coverage is 'I really like this guy' but I was hoping pff would focus more on the team building math.
What does his lack of need to sit have to do with the Falcons purchasing an insurance policy. I don't agree with the pick either, but there is a viable (stupid) defense.
It's continually pretty shocking how many people who do this for a living still can't wrap their minds around common philosophies on how teams are built. If you pick seven dudes, that seventh player may not be better than the guy he's competing with in camp, but six positive additions to your team is solid, and you can develop the seventh guy on your practice squad. If you pick twelve dudes, maybe picks seven, eight, ten, and twelve aren't better than their camp competition, but remaining eight positive additions to your team is even better than the six. You get caught up in your metrics like these aren't human beings, which are generally agents of chaos and uncertainty. The "more bites at the apple" cliche isn't all BS, this is an imperfect science, because people aren't static constructs. I'll end this rant by noting that the insinuation that the Green Bay draft room was so flummoxed that DeJean was picked ahead of them that they panicked and traded back, is absurd and amateurish. Mediocre engineers wielding sophisticated hammers.
Yeah, he's pretty bad. And the others are only slightly better. Basically, if teams don't take players on their amateur boards, it's a bad selection. That said, 75% of NFL GM are just as bad. The other 25% eat them alive. Case and point, the Eagles GM.

Draft layout is really tough to follow. Why are you guys so adverse to having a clock or making stuff actually visible to know who is on the clock?
They have a life draft tracker with the current pick up, top available boards, and the live stream half screen above the picks

Speaking of drafting mid grade guys early, there you go. Dallas is the one now doing it.
Time stamps please

Trying to defend the Falcon's pick is laughable. Pennix is ready to go now, he's not a developmental guy the needs to sit for years.

A lot of people have made good and convincing arguments for them picking Penix, you just don't agree. Stop being so arrogant.

Seeing Them awkwardly have to talk about the Steelers who they hate absolutely nail the draft for a second year so far will never not be funny.
All that for a 9-7-1 record capped off with an honourary wildcard appearance
The Steelers arent very good. Bottom line
