Thank you thank you thank you!!! Been looking for this exact video. I come from a country where seachem is the only liquid fertiliser you can get for fish tank😢 again very thankful! Amazing video btw, really easy to follow!
Thanks for the reply. I have a scaped 350 ltr temperate oranda tank, can only put certain plants in there even though I keep the fish well fed, they still nibble.
Hi Mark, well after watching this and having some Christmas money still to spend, I decided to buy the Seachem products. My planted tank is going quite well but after a year of slow growth and with some decay / melting, the plants have never been great. So hopefully this will be the solution instead of my all in one fert 🙂🤞
Thank you for your easy way to explain your fert routine! So you never dose phosphorus? Because, when I stop dosing phosphorus my plants especially the epiphytes got green spot algae
Thank you, that's just my routine. Phosphates are still required in setups. The usual culprit for my epiphytes, particularly anubias getting green spot algae us too much light, I prefer to shade them under plants like ferns.
@gk9417 Yeah it's perfectly safe for shrimp as the amount of copper is very low (enough for plants but low for invertebrates). You would have to seriously overdose with Trace to cause harm to your shrimp. Here's a direct link to Seachem's product info.... www.seachem.com/flourish-trace.php
Hello sir, I have seen a diagram of different aquarium plant deficiencies such as Nitrogen, Phosphate, Iron, Potassium. But which Seachem products would you suggest for these aquarium plant deficiencies and how much of a dose to use? Calcium, Manganese, and Magnesium. Thank you.
Hi there, It all depends on the deficiency you're seeing. Generally, I like to dose Seachem Flourish Trace, Potassium daily. Nitrogen and Iron 2-3 times a week. Dose amounts as per bottle instructions. I rarely see deficiencies in my plants dosing this way as long as I have a nutrient rich substrate for plants which are planted. Hope this helps.
Hey Ashley, thank you. Best to add Advance daily for 2 weeks when lights are on. Plants can uptake supplements when they're more active when the lights are on.
Good video, with your fert plan do you put in immediately after you fill the tank up after a water change. Was curious maybe if prime would maybe interfere with flourish etc. Not scientists but in your experience what do you do?
Thankyou. I add my ferts after water change if lights are staying on, I add ferts when lights are on, as that's when plants can utilise the ferts best.
Great video, very informative. I'd love to see you make a pair of identical scapes and dose one as normal and not the other to show the difference dosing can make - or not.
Thankyou so much, glad you found it informative as that was my main aim with this video. That is an awesome idea, I currently don't have the tanks/equipment just yet but it's definitely something I would love to do for you guys👍👍
With all these products used in a planted aquarium, are they safe for the fish and for, in my case, a fly river turtle? I want to make sure that I have a lush green aquarium growing within my fresh water aquarium with my turtle in it.
Hi Jason, yeah I dose exactly the same with low energy. I'll have to be honest I'm not the best to advise on hard water as I've never had to deal with it. I would suggest contacting Seachem customer service, see what they suggest. www.seachem.com/contact-support.php
I don't but I do have some incase I end up using plants which require more phosphorus. I've had algae issues in the past if I use phosphorus on a regular basis. Seems algae thrives with phosphorus. This is just my experience I don't know this for certain though.
Hi Juris, I would dose as per the video. If you're still unsure, you can contact Seachem customer service, and I'm sure they'd be more than willing to advise.
Hi mark .thanks great video ,i want to ask if you start a New setup. Put you from Day one your furtilisers in it ,or do you wait 14 days .can wait to see your next video's. And your scapes looks realy amazing. Greets and cheers theo 👍😉🥃👌
I only use Flourish Advance for the first 14 days, I then stop and go on to the Trace, Potassium etc. I forgot to say in the video that I also use Advance after a big trim for a few days to encourage new growth.
Hi Kasie, around 30 litres, I used to dose half a millilitre (0.5ml) alternate days with a 50% weekly water change. A small syringe is ideal. Good thing with this your Flourish will last a very long time👍Terumo 1ml Disposable Medication Syringes - 10 amzn.eu/d/5IbmH0e
BBA can be caused by varying issues, it tends to be high flow areas if/when I get it. Iron is pretty much essential for healthy plant growth. I would dose as and when the bottle instructions recommend as they've been well tested over the years. Hope this helps.
@GEORDIESCAPER hi Geordie,I just started using this soil in a newly planted scape. However I'm not able to find much info in terms of water change schedule routine for a new setup .what water change routine do you follow for the 1st month with this soil while the tank is cycling?
helpful video, thanks Geordie!
Glad you found it helpful. Thank you👍👍
awesome video, really easy to follow. Thanks!
Very much appreciated😊👍
Great cheers for clearing that up, can get confusing with so many products out there, I've always trusted seachem 👍
whats your water change schedule? and what is your waters pH, GH, and dKH?
Great video. You say dose daily do you still dose to total volume of bottle instructions per week
Nice explain ⚡👍👍
Thankyou so much👍

I have activated carbon in my external filters - would that affect any ferts i put in ?
Ferts are fine it's more fish meds you need to remove carbon when dosing.

Nice one Geordie,I presume that would be the same for lowtech ,hard water fully planted aquascape aswell pal.👌👍

Ah yes, a youtuber who likes all comments. Well met, friend.
Thank you, although I am a little late with these latest replies. I do my best👍

Thanks Theo, I dose nothing but Flourish Advance for the first 14 days.👍🥃
Is using these all together safe for nano fish? Tetra danios etc.
I would recommend using a syringe to get the dosing right. Stick to the bottle instructions recommendations and your nano fish will be fine👍👍
Hi, once you feel that your plants are established to you eventually stop dosing Flourish Advanced?
I only use Flourish Advance for the first 14 days, I then stop and go on to the Trace, Potassium etc. I forgot to say in the video that I also use Advance after a big trim for a few days to encourage new growth.
How should I use seachem flourish in a 6.5 gallon tank? I don't know how?

Tap water with added prime.

Best check with Seachem's customer service on that one. Personally I would probably use out of date if it was a couple of months.
