I really like your weekly format for Flossmas. It feels more manageable to me. I love your advent stitch. And your finish is beautiful. Your yarn advent is such soft, pretty colors.

I enjoy seeing the yarn and floss advents. This year I made myself a fiber Advent for spinning but it's the first year in a while I haven't gotten yarn. I've yet to use last year's yarn Advent, so I decided I can just live vicariously through Vlogmas 😂 The dove is lovely as well.

I learned from Judy at JBW to use felt with adhesive back rather than batting on the ornaments and it is lovely, plus you can sticky the felt to the matt board. Hugs

I’m also doing the Holiday Countdown and loving it so far. I pre-ordered Winter Moon on 40ct as well. Excited to see that they are starting to deliver. Artsy Housewife’s charts are amazing, including Lovely Dove. The filthy animal pottery ornament is so cute! Beautiful pottery by your friend.

Really enjoying your Flossmas videos…lots of fun. I have long wanted to do the Christmas at Hollyberry Farm so am enjoying seeing your progress. I have read all the books you are reviewing….I hope that Jane Harper has another book out soon. What gorgeous pottery! I especially love that bowl. The dove pattern is so unique as are the colors..very much like folk art, at least here in the Maritimes. Hope you are having a good week!
I feel the same as you re: bananas, love bananas, do not usually like banana flavored things. But, i did like this spread. Your new pottery is all fabulous. Seeing everyone’s Evertote Countdown makes me want to get it next year just for the threads 😂 I would never be able to keep up with the stitch but I want those threads! The pottery pieces are beautiful. I love the ornaments. I use comic board for ornaments. It’s light and sturdy. Judy Whitman did an ornament tutorial. She recommended it. Chris from Chrisxstitch used a sticky felt on the back of his ornament. Lovey dove looks beautiful

Was nice to meet you at the Jingle Ball in the stitching room. You are more ambitious than I am - though I want to start a Jacob pattern as a Christmas start. I just finished one pattern and am closing in on a second finish. The dove is great! Love the Advent spreads too.

I enjoyed Harper's The Dry, but just couldn't get into the second book. I'll have to check out Exiles when I have time.
I've been so impressed with The Artsy Housewife patterns, and would love to try my hand at a number of them, including Lovely Dove.

I've also got the Holiday Countdown though I'm a bit behind because I have been stitching on wips to meet prompts in a Facebook group I'm in. What I have done with the one ornament I did this year and some flat fold finishes is to use acid free comic book boards (I think that's what it's called) for the backing or sometimes both the backing and stitched piece. Love the dove.

Love the cables you got! That’s such a good idea. They look way more flexible than the binder rings. I hate that the rings are so bulky in project bags
Oh, I don’t know that I’ve seen Lovely Dove before. I have Golden Delicious and Byron Blackbird from her and plan to start one of them in January.
Lauren, maybe if you use mat board instead of foam core board, your ornament might feel less bulky. I think it looks great, along with everything else!

Love your videos. FYI at Hobby Lobby (not sure they are inn New Hampshire) if you go to the framing counter and ask for a sheet of acid free 1/8” foam core it is much thinner than all the rest they sell. And the others they sell on the floor are not acid free. I think it is about $15 and is a huge sheet that lasts a while. Hope that helps.

And thanks for the quick tip on what those little cable ties are called, I’ve been transitioning my floss system and the ring for active WIPs is preferred and I think I’d prefer those to the binder rings

I use chipboard instead of foam core, it seems to work well and not too bulky.

Just wondering if you have to any batting at all or how about felt instead? 😊 Teehee finishing advise from a stitcher who does many stitchy charts but finishes none…so I’m not sure if felt is allowed. Your puppy story was cute. Our dog identifies with the cold cuts drawer. I give her cheese snacks so when she hears a baggie or the fridge drawer open, she’s front and center!
