Camping at Moed Farm, Tankwa Karoo - Calvinia Vleisfees Detour

Before we went to Moed Farm in the Tankwa Karoo to spend a few nights camping, we took a detour to visit the annual Calvinia Festival (Calvinia Vleisfees) to see what it had to offer.
On arrival at Moed Farm, we were pleasantly surprised by the effort that the owners have put into the building of the new ablution facilities in such an isolated area. This place is a real gem. Whether you prefer the comfort of a hot shower, or a place to wild-camp, Moed Farm is worth the trip.

What time of the year is Vleis festival held??

The Kalvinia Vleis Fees is usually held the last weekend in August. Just a warning though… it’s still VERY cold there that time of year
