Are we just ignoring the fact Lilith seemed to be listening to someone when she woke up then mentions that she was told what all happened before saying all the vegapunks are technically still alive? I think she is on stealth mode so York doesn't know she's alive but punk records can still one way communicate with her
Exactly this, all their bodies are dead and or destroyed this cut off from the brain but vegapunk is still alive because both York and Lilith likely have beating hearts and the main brain is still intact! Once the brain is destroyed, both Lilith and York will die and vegapunk officially will be dead entirely. The brain brain fruit allows the person to operate without being attached to the body as we've seen since vegapunk was smart enough to figure out this from the fruits abilities. At some point during elbaf, I foresee Lilith speaking about other important lore then suddenly she drops dead in front of everyone! York with the elders and Imu also suddenly dies after the mother flame is acquired. Imu erases egghead during this time which destroys the brain killing vegapunk completely!

When Kizaru asked Akainu “have u tried to kill your best friend?” And Akainu was silent. At first I thought of the fight between him and Aokiji but then I thought about his hatred towards Dragon. I think that silence has something to do with Dragon. It’s obvious something had to happen between those two
I feel like the "have you killed your best friend" is foreshadowing a theory proving true. I think dragon and akainu were friends, best friends, and akainu never actually hunted dragon down. It's a slap in the face to kizaru, especially coming from akainu
Honestly this chapter gave me confidence as a reader. When I read something I try to look deeply into the characters and their inner struggles and not bank too much on external fights. The direction Kuzaru went this arc, while not completely what I predicted stayed very close to what I was expecting. Readers get so caught up with things like power scaling, theories and personal agendas that they don't settle down and open their eyes to see what the author is really trying to show us. Since I caught up 6 years ago I have been consistently satisfied with the direction Oda is taking the story. This is not MY story, so I know things will not always go the way I personally want, in fact Oda doese things I never thought of before and it makes me excited. I'm still reading One Piece because I fell in love with a story Oda made and I want to see HIS story to the end, and not what I would prefer.

The whole thing with Vegapunk dying but also not dying feels like we don't know all the answers yet. Roger told Rayleigh he wouldn't due, even though he did, and we have seen the former Roger Pirates speak as if Roger was still alive. There's still lots of unknowns in One Piece regarding death, I think it's best to keep an open mind about it
Zoro told luffy to left sanji in wci. What he said in this chapter is 100% in character. If there's a character who wants luffy to be pirate king more than himself is zoro, it's his higher priority compared to his swordmanship ambition

I am so shocked because I always saw both Kizaru and Akainu as murdering pricks, but seeing Kizaru yelling at Akainu about what he did in Egghead to Akainu of all people actually apologizing, for the first time since they were introduced these two actually earned my respect, I'm with the mind that Lilith is all the dead Vegapunks now merged into one, I hope Vivi heads to Elbaf because that was the first island that she Adventure on with the straw hat crew, plus it would be nice to have her have a reunion with Dorry and Broggy.
This proofs that Kizaru was not even fully mentally present when Luffy grabbed him and throwed him on the ship. Luffy "defeated" someone who already was defeated. But people are too prone to get influenced by hype which is why nobody wanted to believe it. We still never saw Kizaru go all out or any of the admirals to begin with.
I agree. Neither Kizaru nor Luffy used their entire arsenal. The fight was def not what I expected it to be. I feel like the only time we'll see the admirals go all out is when the final war comes

Kizaru becoming emotional highlights the gravity of losing his friend and failing his mission, understandable reaction after being accused of doing nothing. Also enlightening to see Akainu backstep after taking some heat, proves he isn’t a mindless justice nut. He wants results but he cares for his teammates
GrandLine Reviews made a great point on Zoro's comment and how he doesn't grasp that it wasn't necessarily the bond with Vegapunk, it was the fact that Luffy made a promise. That's why it hit Luffy so hard, because he feels like he failed in that promise and how much that concept means to him. If he can't fulfill that promise, how can he be able to fulfill any promise, up to and including his declaration to become the King of the Pirates. Whether or not Luffy actually built an extreme bond with Vegapunk is irrelevant, Luffy gave him his word to safely get him off the island and until Luffy heard from Lilith, he felt he broke his word.

When I read the chapter the translation for when big bird was announcing the title for his new scoop it ended with ‘and’ before vivi could interrupt him. I think he also has a scoop on what went down in hachinosou

I actually find the admirals dedication to their own thought of justice and journey/awakening to the possible flaws in their philosophies quite commendable. Kizaru reminded me much of Garp at the war. And the question to Akainu…everyone says he is evil but I feel as though we are due for a admiral flashback where we see his fight with Aokiji almost killing his best friend and we see a lot of pain in the pursuit of Absolute Justice
Most times, when you're brought up in a corrupt system, the only way to know it's corrupt is for something to personally impact you and open your eyes to it. Humans can adapt, and in the midst of that adaptation, we can detach ourselves from what we're doing. It's like a speeding car with no obstacles. You need a 'wall' to slow it down. You can either slow down or run into it, but realization will set in either way. Now you can decide if things need to change
I love agendas in one piece, they can be one of the funniest things if done right. However the agendas against kizaru this arc have been oblivious to what was actually happening in the story
people hating on zoro for what he said is crazy. yes, what he said was insensitive to a degree, but you must remeber that compared to the other straw hats zoro never even had a conversation with vegapunk and unlike luffy and everyone else, he never made any promises to get vegaunk off the island (because he wasn't there). zoro spent the least amount of time with the vegapunks thats why he doesn't view them of that much importance so to him vegapunk dying is nothing more than an old man passing away, but to everyone else especially luffy, this is failure. luffy failed to saved vegapunk after he made a promise and he's beating himself up about it.we have to wait for the official tanslation but this is just my take on it.
Yeah I think the issue is that even if Zoro didn't know anything about Vegapunk, luffy did. Zoro calling luffy pathetic isn't showing any respect for luffys judgement on what should be important and what should not be, which is an issue. I'm hoping it's just a nuanced translation error but we'll see.

I do think the powerscaling debate takes away from the moments of genuinely great storytelling One Piece offers. Kizaru has a highlight character moment arguably a character defining arc and every action he made in the Egghead is recontextualized, but the conversation is always around how well we think these characters should be doing in these fights instead of reacting and analyzing their motivations as characters and the actions they take.
I loved Kizaru's moment this chapter, he's been deeply conflicted for awhile, I was wondering what he's actually been thinking this whole time under his non-chalant persona. He must've been really angry with Luffy stalling him and dragging things out. I honestly find it hard to believe that Kizaru was holding back at this point. He was basically trying to speedrun the mission as fast as possible but Luffy kept getting in his way.

I thought about this but what if vegapunk split his brain and made it a separate being and instead of him being the Stella he made the brain the Stella and him also a satellite it would make sense why everyone’s alive
I also think it was the fact luffy failed at saving someone again like with ace or failed an objective. If shanks is in Elbalf hopefully he teaches him the responsibilities of necessary sacrifices and other things for your group as a whole will take hard decisions
Just want to say I really appreciate whenever you make a point of going into character motivations and development. Most of the weekly reaction channels don't. (I can think of 2 others right now, but both of them tend to do really long videos that aren't based on one chapter at a time.)
The reason why people are surprised by Zoro is simple. It's simply Oda's failure. Oda has failed to deepen our knowledge about Zoro's character. He definitely has a whole lots of details about zoro's background, but he has failed to share the needed information with us, so we could understand zoro's motivations and behaviour better. We know just vaguely why he wants to be the best sword man and that's it. We know almost nothing more about him from the story. Compare him with Sanji as an example. Sanji was an insufferable character for many, before we got his background in details and then we had an Aha moment and could understand why he is the way he is. That's exactly what zoro's character needed. Oda had the best opportunity in Wano for that but he just decided to leave it. Most probably because he wants to tell his story in a short manga after one piece. From what i remember Zoro has always been emotionally extremely closed and very defensive. Even when we see him as a child, he's so obviously emotionally distant, as if he's learnt to be that way to protect himself. At least i think so. So yeah i think Oda has done a poor job with Zoro after time skip. That's also true about some of other characters honestly saying. He has this bad habit, that he goes in lengthy details, where it's not necessary and then where he should go into details, he realises that "Oh shiiiit, i have to wrap up the arc" 😬 And don't get me wrong. I've been a one piece fan almost from the start and still enjoy it. But nobody is perfect and even Oda's Work has lots of flaws.
Also the new drip that Kizaru had in the anime (yellow and black), the black signifies potential/future mourning, because he knows that either way Vegapunk was gonna die and he had to accept that. But what made it more impactful was Kizaru himself killing Vegapunk. Kizaru was in pain from the start.
The fact that people think Kizaru fought Luffy with all he had is crazy. All you need to do is go back and re-read the fight between Luffy and Kizaru, and you will see that Kizaru had no interest in fighting Luffy. He was attacking Luffy just to get rid of him, even trying to distract him with his clones. The next moment, you will see him trying to kill Vegapunk. (literally every single attack he landed on Luffy the next one is on Vegapunk)
How far'fetched is it to think Big News Morgan is Lafittte??? Starting to think more and more it's right up One Piece's alley to have the wings we saw Lafitte sprout turn into chicken wings fully transformed. It would explain why he's never shown. Gives Blackbeard one of the most powerful abilities to control the world narrative allowing him to take the spotlight and move in the shadows as needed.
Borsalino blowing off his top is outside my expectation, but I KNEW he wasn't all that emotionless when he killed Vegapunk. Idk how to express it in words, but he was extremely... quiet? Distraught? Distracted? Disoriented? when he had to kill Vegapunk. He was barely there when he fought Luffy and got scolded by Saturn. Even when he tried to kinda hurt Bonney, I can feel he was not doing it to his maximum ability. It almost felt like he wanted Luffy to hurt him so badly that he had to stay down and then not get involved but his sense of duty and threats by an Elder is too heavy and big so he had to take actions. I knew he took it hard but I didn't expect him to really blow his top against Sakazuki nor Sakazuki's subsequent apology. It is beautiful.
At the end of the day, Kizaru is like Akainu and Garp. Just another marine dog. He may feel conflicted but at the end of the day, people are what they do and Kizaru is following orders over friendship. That's why Luffy is a pirate instead of being a Marine Dog .
luffys depression for not being able to save Vegapunk kinda reminded me the death of Ace, when Luffy felt so weak. back then it was also because of Akainu and he could not do a thing against him
Oda doesn't like spelling out everything regarding how characters feel, you gotta read in between the lines and look at the subtle hints. For example Zoro always uses the terms "cut" and "slice" when he argues back but in Zou after he heard why Sanji left and Luffy, who is exceptional at reading people calls Zoro out for worrying Zoro retorts with "I'll kick you". Kicking is Sanjis things 😂 Oda likes using small details to convey his characters more often then not
My theory is Aokiji was Akainus bestfriend, that would explain why Akainu let Aokiji live. They have different views on justice but they could always be friends and brothers in arms
Lilith is not the only VP alive, York is also alive, we have 1 good VP and 1 bad VP alive. This makes me wonder how Lilith can feel hungry as York is still there(Mybe because she is disconnected to Punk Records)

I agree with all that kizaru take you where spiting. However, after this arc it clear- outside of maybe akainu, Luffy mid-low diffs a single admiral in gear 5. Two things can be real and understood. Doesn’t take away from the character moments either, but I also don’t want people to hold that up to such level to say Luffy still can’t beat an admiral.

It’s not an overwhelming win for the straw hats…… or possibly the world. One thing that I think is widely overlooked in this chapter is that the straw hats had to run. The marines are still on egghead. Like you mentioned, punk records is still on the island and now the marines can walk up and utilize it. Joker or whoever can most likely access it. On top of that and something more important…. The mother flame is still on the island. Now instead of taking “a piece” of the mother flame like York did, now they have the actual mother flame. If all this gets overlooked in the future story context (which I doubt) and everyone just leaves egghead as an island in ruins, I’d be hiiiggghhlyy surprised.
One interesting thing is comparing Kizaru's and Clover's moments. Clover's pivotal moment was the unjustified murder of his brother, and him having to fake his own name and mask his feelings to live. That's what got Vegapunk intrigued in the mystery of D. as well. Now, Navy Admiral Kizaru killed Vegapunk, his best friend, because he delved into the mysteries of the past like Clover. There is a bit of irony, and a number of parallels to be drawn. You could even compare Kuzan's pivotal moment in Ohara with these as well. Regardless, it seems that the decisions they have to make are ultimately burning up many powerful people from the inside. All of this from the same thread of the Void Century research.

You mention Lucci’s purpose in this arc being narrative glue for certain conversations to be held for the audience. But the discussion you held regarding Kizaru’s mental struggles is actually even paralleled (please provide a better word to say here) with Lucci’s request of the Gorosei to attempt to spare Kaku. Lucci is the most WG indoctrinated character we’ve met at this point in the story, a killer by nature, and even he wanted his best friend to survive. If lucci can feel this, why would fans doubt kizaru could?
It’s always crazy to me how people want to deny characters are strong when everything about the story says they are strong. For some of these characters you don’t even need to have a deep understanding of the story to know they’re strong, the story itself flat out says these people are some of the strongest.

Maybe going on 3 years I've watched every episode from episode 1. Now I'm reading the manga to get the full grasp of One Piece.
Honestly, I could already tell from the moment Kizaru arrived, he was acting a bit off. It was obvious he didn’t want to kill Vegapunk. But had to otherwise, Saturn might potentially kill him. Similarly, I always said, Kuzan did not freeze Garp completely. They trained together he respects him. Blackbeard needs Garp Alive since they lost Koby as a bargaining chip. To make his island a nation. In Fact after all this I’ve noticed some similarity. Some were more obvious. Wano for me was the Alabasta Arc of the new world. Crocodile bet Luffy I think twice. Kaido Bet Luffy twice. Regardless In both cases. Luffy needed more than 1 attempt to win. Egghead reflects Sabaody archipelago. Elbaf might reflect Amazon Lily. It will be an interesting Arc that’s longer than egg head but way shorter than wano. And Garp being captured by Blackbeard, possibly sets up a Marineford 2.0 scenario. The Marines are replaced by Blackbeard and his Allies. WhiteBeard and his allies are replaced by Luffy and his. And Ace is replaced by Garp for execution. Cause if the elders are that strong. Luffy Vs Blackbeard I think is a joke in comparison. Think of it like playing Elden Ring. To keep the explanation brief. Luffy played Elden ring legitimately. While Blackbeard Cheesed the bosses. That’s how I think BB while be set up. A threat for sure. But not this big bad we’re expecting. Especially with the elders being that Powerful. And the god knights maybe reflect a fraction of that power.

The brain is actually vegapunk and not just the brain in the jar. The rest of his body is hidden underneath. Stella is part of the other vegapunks and he controls them remotely to do everything so he doesn't have to carry the head around. He will enter final battle floating in like a big headed brainiac
Love your take on Kizaru! Of course he was anguished, and some of us saw it before the flashback reveal. The Zoro thing also threw me initially. But I do sort of understand what he was saying. He is the balance to Luffy (his best friend). I’m sure things will clarify for us in time.

Let’s not forget Akainu apologizing to Kizaru and calling him brother. This part just further proved that Akainu saved Aokiji not only because he’s a big asset for the Marines, but because he probably thought of him as a brother and actually has some weak spot for certain people.
I think the personalities of the dead vegapunks go into the remaining ones. If that's true it makes me wonder what that would look like. Would the personalities start to merge? Would York become more like the other vegapunks? Would York somehow turn into a spy in the government?
Sakazuki mentioned saturn implying they will be wrapping up his storyline with Emet and most likely Kuma and Bonnie next chapter nothing else needed before Elbaf
What I’ve learned is that the average One Piece “fan” is either uninformed or unintelligent, and they truly don’t see/understand some of the deeper nuances and elements of the story. Especially if ignoring these things gives them pass to shit on the admirals/WG. What makes it worse is that there’s a lot of big TH-camrs in the One Piece community that falls in this category, or potentially they perpetuate these talking points just to cater to the masses for views. I get it they’re the bad guys of the story, but if they’re actually as weak as the fandom wants them to be, then that’s just bad writing, and will make for an anticlimactic ending.

Exactly this, all their bodies are dead and or destroyed this cut off from the brain but vegapunk is still alive because both York and Lilith likely have beating hearts and the main brain is still intact! Once the brain is destroyed, both Lilith and York will die and vegapunk officially will be dead entirely. The brain brain fruit allows the person to operate without being attached to the body as we've seen since vegapunk was smart enough to figure out this from the fruits abilities. At some point during elbaf, I foresee Lilith speaking about other important lore then suddenly she drops dead in front of everyone! York with the elders and Imu also suddenly dies after the mother flame is acquired. Imu erases egghead during this time which destroys the brain killing vegapunk completely!

Honestly this chapter gave me confidence as a reader. When I read something I try to look deeply into the characters and their inner struggles and not bank too much on external fights.
The direction Kuzaru went this arc, while not completely what I predicted stayed very close to what I was expecting. Readers get so caught up with things like power scaling, theories and personal agendas that they don't settle down and open their eyes to see what the author is really trying to show us.
Since I caught up 6 years ago I have been consistently satisfied with the direction Oda is taking the story. This is not MY story, so I know things will not always go the way I personally want, in fact Oda doese things I never thought of before and it makes me excited.
I'm still reading One Piece because I fell in love with a story Oda made and I want to see HIS story to the end, and not what I would prefer.

This proofs that Kizaru was not even fully mentally present when Luffy grabbed him and throwed him on the ship. Luffy "defeated" someone who already was defeated. But people are too prone to get influenced by hype which is why nobody wanted to believe it.

Kizaru becoming emotional highlights the gravity of losing his friend and failing his mission, understandable reaction after being accused of doing nothing. GrandLine Reviews made a great point on Zoro's comment and how he doesn't grasp that it wasn't necessarily the bond with Vegapunk, it was the fact that Luffy made a promise. That's why it hit Luffy so hard, because he feels like he failed in that promise and how much that concept means to him. If he can't fulfill that promise, how can he be able to fulfill any promise, up to and including his declaration to become the King of the Pirates. Whether or not Luffy actually built an extreme bond with Vegapunk is irrelevant, Luffy gave him his word to safely get him off the island and until Luffy heard from Lilith, he felt he broke his word.

I actually find the admirals dedication to their own thought of justice and journey/awakening to the possible flaws in their philosophies quite commendable. Kizaru reminded me much of Garp at the war. And the question to Akainu…everyone says he is evil but I feel as though we are due for a admiral flashback where we see his fight with Aokiji almost killing his best friend and we see a lot of pain in the pursuit of Absolute Justice

people hating on zoro for what he said is crazy. yes, what he said was insensitive to a degree, but you must remeber that compared to the other straw hats zoro never even had a conversation with vegapunk and unlike luffy and everyone else, he never made any promises to get vegaunk off the island (because he wasn't there). zoro spent the least amount of time with the vegapunks thats why he doesn't view them of that much importance so to him vegapunk dying is nothing more than an old man passing away, but to everyone else especially luffy, this is failure. luffy failed to saved vegapunk after he made a promise and he's beating himself up about it.we have to wait for the official tanslation but this is just my take on it.

I do think the powerscaling debate takes away from the moments of genuinely great storytelling One Piece offers. Kizaru has a highlight character moment arguably a character defining arc and every action he made in the Egghead is recontextualized, but the conversation is always around how well we think these characters should be doing in these fights instead of reacting and analyzing their motivations as characters and the actions they take.
I loved Kizaru's moment this chapter, he's been deeply conflicted for awhile, I was wondering what he's actually been thinking this whole time under his non-chalant persona. He must've been really angry with Luffy stalling him and dragging things out. I honestly find it hard to believe that Kizaru was holding back at this point. He was basically trying to speedrun the mission as fast as possible but Luffy kept getting in his way.

I also think it was the fact luffy failed at saving someone again like with ace or failed an objective. If shanks is in Elbalf hopefully he teaches him the responsibilities of necessary sacrifices and other things for your group as a whole will take hard decisions
Just want to say I really appreciate whenever you make a point of going into character motivations and development. Most of the weekly reaction channels don't. (I can think of 2 others right now, but both of them tend to do really long videos that aren't based on one chapter at a time.)
The reason why people are surprised by Zoro is simple. It's simply Oda's failure. Oda has failed to deepen our knowledge about Zoro's character. He definitely has a whole lots of details about zoro's background, but he has failed to share the needed information with us, so we could understand zoro's motivations and behaviour better. We know just vaguely why he wants to be the best sword man and that's it. We know almost nothing more about him from the story. Compare him with Sanji as an example. Sanji was an insufferable character for many, before we got his background in details and then we had an Aha moment and could understand why he is the way he is. That's exactly what zoro's character needed. Oda had the best opportunity in Wano for that but he just decided to leave it. Most probably because he wants to tell his story in a short manga after one piece.
From what i remember Zoro has always been emotionally extremely closed and very defensive. Even when we see him as a child, he's so obviously emotionally distant, as if he's learnt to be that way to protect himself. At least i think so.
So yeah i think Oda has done a poor job with Zoro after time skip. That's also true about some of other characters honestly saying.
He has this bad habit, that he goes in lengthy details, where it's not necessary and then where he should go into details, he realises that "Oh shiiiit, i have to wrap up the arc" 😬
And don't get me wrong. I've been a one piece fan almost from the start and still enjoy it. But nobody is perfect and even Oda's Work has lots of flaws.
One day we will return back to wano and complete his character Arc.
Also the new drip that Kizaru had in the anime (yellow and black), the black signifies potential/future mourning, because he knows that either way Vegapunk was gonna die and he had to accept that. But what made it more impactful was Kizaru himself killing Vegapunk. Kizaru was in pain from the start.
The fact that people think Kizaru fought Luffy with all he had is crazy. All you need to do is go back and re-read the fight between Luffy and Kizaru, and you will see that Kizaru had no interest in fighting Luffy. He was attacking Luffy just to get rid of him, even trying to distract him with his clones. The next moment, you will see him trying to kill Vegapunk. (literally every single attack he landed on Luffy the next one is on Vegapunk)
Kizaru question hit Akainu hard because they’re are basically best friends that joined the marines the same time. Kinda like Koby and meppo
How far'fetched is it to think Big News Morgan is Lafittte??? Starting to think more and more it's right up One Piece's alley to have the wings we saw Lafitte sprout turn into chicken wings fully transformed. It would explain why he's never shown. Gives Blackbeard one of the most powerful abilities to control the world narrative allowing him to take the spotlight and move in the shadows as needed.
Borsalino blowing off his top is outside my expectation, but I KNEW he wasn't all that emotionless when he killed Vegapunk. Idk how to express it in words, but he was extremely... quiet? Distraught? Distracted? Disoriented? when he had to kill Vegapunk. He was barely there when he fought Luffy and got scolded by Saturn. Even when he tried to kinda hurt Bonney, I can feel he was not doing it to his maximum ability. It almost felt like he wanted Luffy to hurt him so badly that he had to stay down and then not get involved but his sense of duty and threats by an Elder is too heavy and big so he had to take actions. I knew he took it hard but I didn't expect him to really blow his top against Sakazuki nor Sakazuki's subsequent apology. It is beautiful.
At the end of the day, Kizaru is like Akainu and Garp.

Oda doesn't like spelling out everything regarding how characters feel, you gotta read in between the lines and look at the subtle hints.
For example Zoro always uses the terms "cut" and "slice" when he argues back but in Zou after he heard why Sanji left and Luffy, who is exceptional at reading people calls Zoro out for worrying Zoro retorts with "I'll kick you". Kicking is Sanjis things 😂

It’s not an overwhelming win for the straw hats…… or possibly the world. One thing that I think is widely overlooked in this chapter is that the straw hats had to run. The marines are still on egghead. Like you mentioned, punk records is still on the island and now the marines can walk up and utilize it. Joker or whoever can most likely access it. On top of that and something more important…. The mother flame is still on the island. Now instead of taking “a piece” of the mother flame like York did, now they have the actual mother flame.
If all this gets overlooked in the future story context (which I doubt) and everyone just leaves egghead as an island in ruins, I’d be hiiiggghhlyy surprised.
One interesting thing is comparing Kizaru's and Clover's moments.
Clover's pivotal moment was the unjustified murder of his brother, and him having to fake his own name and mask his feelings to live. That's what got Vegapunk intrigued in the mystery of D. as well.
Now, Navy Admiral Kizaru killed Vegapunk, his best friend, because he delved into the mysteries of the past like Clover.
There is a bit of irony, and a number of parallels to be drawn.
You could even compare Kuzan's pivotal moment in Ohara with these as well. Regardless, it seems that the decisions they have to make are ultimately burning up many powerful people from the inside. All of this from the same thread of the Void Century research.

You mention Lucci’s purpose in this arc being narrative glue for certain conversations to be held for the audience. But the discussion you held regarding Kizaru’s mental struggles is actually even paralleled (please provide a better word to say here) with Lucci’s request of the Gorosei to attempt to spare Kaku. Lucci is the most WG indoctrinated character we’ve met at this point in the story, a killer by nature, and even he wanted his best friend to survive. If lucci can feel this, why would fans doubt kizaru could?
It’s always crazy to me how people want to deny characters are strong when everything about the story says they are strong. For some of these characters you don’t even need to have a deep understanding of the story to know they’re strong, the story itself flat out says these people are some of the strongest.

Doesn’t make what he said right. That’s the point. It doesn’t matter how upset he is about the situation. He isn’t one to insult others especially his captain just because he’s feeling sad. That’s was part of the reason why he was upset at usopp in water 7. Usopp was mad at luffy not realizing he shared the same feeling and insulted him. The brain is actually vegapunk and not just the brain in the jar. The rest of his body is hidden underneath. Stella is part of the other vegapunks and he controls them remotely to do everything so he doesn't have to carry the head around. He will enter final battle floating in like a big headed brainiac
Love your take on Kizaru! Of course he was anguished, and some of us saw it before the flashback reveal. The Zoro thing also threw me initially. But I do sort of understand what he was saying. He is the balance to Luffy (his best friend). I’m sure things will clarify for us in time.

Let’s not forget Akainu apologizing to Kizaru and calling him brother. This part just further proved that Akainu saved Aokiji not only because he’s a big asset for the Marines, but because he probably thought of him as a brother and actually has some weak spot for certain people.

What I’ve learned is that the average One Piece “fan” is either uninformed or unintelligent, and they truly don’t see/understand some of the deeper nuances and elements of the story. Especially if ignoring these things gives them pass to shit on the admirals/WG. What makes it worse is that there’s a lot of big TH-camrs in the One Piece community that falls in this category, or potentially they perpetuate these talking points just to cater to the masses for views.
I get it they’re the bad guys of the story, but if they’re actually as weak as the fandom wants them to be, then that’s just bad writing, and will make for an anticlimactic ending.
@17:45 I think Luffy's final end-game opponent, will most likely be Shanks. That guy is making some really sus moves & the fact that we haven't fully seen what he's capable of just yet, shows us that this guy definitely is "built different". I think Luffy will end up fighting Shanks, to the death.
