You don't have to press the home button and swipe to use control center... just swipe from the bottom edge of the screen. No pressing of the home button is required.
Savy x Edits you won't damage the case (OtterBox) if you pull up and off the screen protector gently it's only held on by a little bit of glue around the edges
This helps a lot thanks. I have two outer box cases. My case on the outer box was tearing up. So I said I’m done. And now I love it. Thanks a lot dude!!!!! You help a lot!!!!!
Thank you for making this. I had same problem with iPhone 6s case. I took of original screen protector and added a nice glass one. All problems went away
Why do you have to use a metal tool to pull up a plastic screen protector? I've pulled off plastic screen protectors for previous otterbox's with just my hand gently without the force of a metal tool..wow
Divided We Fall again dipshit mind your own business you need to show respect something obviously your mother never taught you she needs to back slap your dumbass
*UPDATE: I found a better way, just cut out the plastic protector screen with a razor knife along the black border. It will give you more support around the frame since it will leave some of the otter box screen protector to reinforce the black border. Learned the hard way when the otter box screen border cracked and a piece fell off and my phone eventually go ruined and I had to buy another identical phone. Also this newer method is much faster and you don’t have to deal with the messy glue.*
I already had a replacement on hand but I tried this for S & G's to see if it would work. Unfortunately, it didn't really work for me. It might have slightly improved the separating but not significantly.
Ok I have a iPhone 7 Plus and tbh,I will never damage a otterbox when I get one,I have a speck case on right now.but I am going to get one soon but thanks for the advice.
the reason you were having trouble with the screen isn't because there was water. It was because you had 2 screen protectors. that's what that sticking sound was when you were tapping the screen at the beginning
Calm down man that's not how you access the control menu. Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Swiping up from the home button won't do shit haha non matter how many times you do it
Accessing the control center isn't difficult. Just gently slide your thumb up from the very bottom edge of the display. The home button has nothing to do with it. You're swiping way too fast.
lol I wasn't sure if he was being serious, or just trying to be funny by swiping the home button like that 😂. Nonetheless I do appreciate the video post.
........To solve the problem I was having with the "control center" slide up option (at about time 7:00 and beyond in this video) see my TH-cam video "How to make 'On Screen' Volume Control buttons for Your i-Phone...". Here's the TH-cam link..th-cam.com/video/uzjvxLIDCOY/w-d-xo.html. I will be making a TH-cam videos called "How to make an ' On Screen', Control Center button for your i-Phone..." and "How to make an 'On Screen', 'Home button' for your i-Phone....". Thanks. P.S. I was new to i-Phone when making this video and I got a better handle on how to activate the home button by sliding up the "control center" option. I still use my 'On Screen' way to activate my 'control center'....
To do move your icon down to reach them with you double tap but to bring control center up you don't move your finger from home button to get control center up you pull your finger up from amost any part of the bottom of the phone
-unfoley Yes I did already a have tempered glass screen protector installed. The plastic was making swiping on top of the glass protector really hard to use.
Note to self....and I see this all the time, when people do a video they should look into the camera, not look at themselves on the screen. Otherwise, don't show your face and just show your hands.
Adam Bdour I've done this to my iPhone 6s and it's a ton better. Water stuck under screen and dirt used to suck. Now no problem as I've replaced original gap between case and screen protector.
LOL this dude is trying to swipe up to get that screen and he starts off by putting his finger on the home button LOOOOOL all you do is just swipe up ON THE SCREEN TO START WITH. Don’t start with your finger on the home button this is so funny
how smart is that? You buy a more expensive Defender model and make it a lower cost least protective Commuter model. Why didn't you just save money and buy the Commuter ?
I have both the commuter and the defender case. Only reason I did this to the defender is cause I like the all rubber outer shell versus the plastic on the commuter. It’s just a much better feel and preference. Plus even without the screen protector it’s much more bulky and sturdier case.
No, i'm just a 10 year old who sees someone literally making a video about Removing Plastic Screen Cover from the Otterbox Defender Series i Phone7+ Case and Modifications...
.....Thanks, if you have an i-Phone you may want to check out my new video on how to create On-Screen Volume control buttons....Just click here...th-cam.com/video/uzjvxLIDCOY/w-d-xo.html
DUDE,THERES 7 CLIPS NOT 5 AND JUST SWIPE UP ON THE SCREEN NOT THE HOME BUTTON AND BY GOLLY IT WILL WORK EVERYTIME.HERES A THOUGHT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS LOL,HA HA.YOUR NOT A SCHOOL TEACHER ARE YOU ? IF SO YOU MAY WANT TO THINK ABOUT CHANGING CAREERS.
Dude chill out this video triggered me one dont tell apple what and how they should change theyre features when you dont even know how to use it and two you wouldnt be worried about water and dust getting in your case if you didnt have 50 thousand random peices of paper inside of it where its not supposed to be taken off someone come get theyre grandpa and show him how to use his phone i think he needs to go back to his nokia bar phone before he breaks this one tryna swipe from the home button 💀 its easy just swipe from the bottum of the screen 🤦 jesus dude 🗣️😩
I took the plastic one out of mine and put a tempered glass on my phone and put the otter box back on. It’s soooo much better
What does the plastic screen protector do
It’s like a screen protector but it doesn’t get much love💀 the case is the main part
You don't have to press the home button and swipe to use control center... just swipe from the bottom edge of the screen. No pressing of the home button is required.
jacobbricker lol
man i know this is old but I laughed at that.....elders lol
jacobbricker i didn’t even know you could use the home button 😂
7:42 nigga said they should make a app to enter control center 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the video! I only did this because I HATE the reduced touch screen sensitivity that the Otterbox screen cover causes.
Justin S omg dude me too take 4 presses just to register
No bs hate that shit
SWIPING UP FROM HOME BUTTON INTENSIFIES*
srsly tho I couldn’t stop laughing
seriously hope he doesn't have any pets.
Who else wants to do this but is scared to fuck it up
Savy x Edits me 😂😂
Savy x Edits you won't damage the case (OtterBox) if you pull up and off the screen protector gently it's only held on by a little bit of glue around the edges
Can you please just get to it
Nothing happens it just comes off
i done it another way. use a hair dryer on high heat for a few mins. use it in the inside of the screen not the outside!
This helps a lot thanks. I have two outer box cases. My case on the outer box was tearing up. So I said I’m done. And now I love it. Thanks a lot dude!!!!! You help a lot!!!!!
Thankyou sooooooooo much it helped me so much i am not gonna ever watch anything abou this case better than how you taught me, THANKS!!!
Thank you for making this. I had same problem with iPhone 6s case. I took of original screen protector and added a nice glass one. All problems went away
turn on the assistive touch button to have a floating context menu to access things like the slide up/slide down control panels.
After removing the plastic did you notice a lot of dust or dirt entering the sides?? I don't my phone to chip or scratch...
Why do you have to use a metal tool to pull up a plastic screen protector? I've pulled off plastic screen protectors for previous otterbox's with just my hand gently without the force of a metal tool..wow
Bitch who you talking too?
bitch! don't talk to me you're not worth my time
Divided We Fall again dipshit mind your own business you need to show respect something obviously your mother never taught you she needs to back slap your dumbass
Yeah man I just did the same thing 😂
*UPDATE: I found a better way, just cut out the plastic protector screen with a razor knife along the black border. Learned the hard way when the otter box screen border cracked and a piece fell off and my phone eventually go ruined and I had to buy another identical phone. So basically you have a commuter now
Thanks man, I really appreciate it it worked like a charm unlike those other trash tutorials with blowdryers and chemicals and whatnot -_-
I have no idea why but I like this guy. Cool guy.
Excellent instructional video. Thank you.
Saint Anthony of Padua?
Wow. Stickers for + and - that takes the cake
if they use water based adhesive. nail polish remover or acetone will work
I already had a replacement on hand but I tried this for S & G's to see if it would work. Unfortunately, it didn't really work for me. It might have slightly improved the separating but not significantly.
That doll in the background is scaring the shit out of me
Saint Sleepy I thought I saw it move
Ok I have a iPhone 7 Plus and tbh,I will never damage a otterbox when I get one,I have a speck case on right now.but I am going to get one soon but thanks for the advice.
Carl? From sling blade?
Who is in the background in the room?
How do you enable that click sound when selecting apps? I have the haptic but my don't make click sound on click sound on keyboard
the reason you were having trouble with the screen isn't because there was water. It was because you had 2 screen protectors. that's what that sticking sound was when you were tapping the screen at the beginning
hi would the otter box fits a 5 inc screen size ? thank you
Calm down man that's not how you access the control menu. Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Swiping up from the home button won't do shit haha non matter how many times you do it
Philip M. David Lmmfao

Accessing the control center isn't difficult. Just gently slide your thumb up from the very bottom edge of the display. The home button has nothing to do with it. You're swiping way too fast.
Thanks this helped me a lot, in the process of getting the sticky stuff off before I put it back on...
You could put AssistiveTouch to make everything easier
Thank you, ;-) sayN hi from North O Boston
I did the same thing to mine only because I already had a screen protector on it and the debris that kept getting in the case drove me crazy
Can I do this and just use my own tempored glass instead?
Beau Cantrelle yah

use vaseline to get off adhesive. it's oil based so oil will remove it]
Rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid also works.
Thanks for the video man, it was really helpful
Pressing the home button like 😂
that case wil acumúlate moisture. i also took off the screen 📱
Maybe u should learn to not press the home butting when u go to slide up on the screen
To do move your icon down to reach them with you double tap but to bring control center up you don't move your finger from home button to get control center up you pull your finger up from amost any part of the bottom of the phone
NicVandEmZ
This is a very kind and helpful comment. 🙂
Thank you so much this work so well!
Chill out, just swipe up. You don't need to swipe from the home button.
So why didn’t he just get a lifeproof nude case it looks just like the one he made that was a wast of money to what he did to that case
who needs a lifeproof when you got scotch tape. lol
My mom won’t let me take it off. Because it’s “expensive”
Thanks. I just took the plastic off my case from your video.
Tamey N. I have a question. Did you already have a glass protector?? or did you just take the protector off without a glass screen?
-unfoley Yes I did already a have tempered glass screen protector installed. The plastic was making swiping on top of the glass protector really hard to use.
You don’t have to press it and swipe up, just swipe up

Yeah, that home button was not working the last day he used that phone.
Cranky ass old man 😂
Good video, but he uses a lot of tape😁😁
Note to self....and I see this all the time, when people do a video they should look into the camera, not look at themselves on the screen. Otherwise, don't show your face and just show your hands.
Dan that's why Casey neistat uses sun glasses

Adam Bdour I've done this to my iPhone 6s and it's a ton better. Water stuck under screen and dirt used to suck. Now no problem as I've replaced original gap between case and screen protector.
