The thermal stone was crap in singleplayer outside of superheating/supercooling your character. They had maybe two minutes of heat from a full charge. It got buffed to be useable in DST so the durability makes sense when you look at it they way.
For the base don't starve the termal stone has no durability for a reason and is because his downside that it will set to the ambient temperature and it will drop your temperature even faster if is in your inventory during winter So in together it doesn't get ambient temperature animore but it has durability
One additional mod that I recommend is map relealer. It's nice to be able to check if map seems ok or not (like distance between oasis and dragonfly). I start the map, reveal, and if all is fine reset server with the same map + with everything hidden again . Nice video btw
1:42 this mod can be buggy some times for me as the skins sometimes overlap and/or just don't work at all, so I use Bundled Reskins which fixes that and also includes a bunch of other funny reskins such as the ice box being a wigfridge (unfortunately it force-reskins domesticated beefalo to look weird though)
Thanks for showing on that The mod currently doesn't have a skin set for the nostalgic set or the abigail head for wendy Did talk to the person that does the bundled reskins mod They did fix some of the problems with The abby skin mod And they help to update the code and content to it. I am the author of the abby skin mod I only make the assets and have no idea how to code and fix any of the bugs. so yeah if you want a better version bundled reskins is the best spot to have it as they also get the updates for when new Wendy heads come out.

It's pretty annoying having to craft 2 of them every winter tho, and they cost next to nothing anyway, just a little quality of life improvement.

This also caused my game to crash when I turned into Wonkey, and in turn made Abby invisible (fix is to reinstall the game)
