I hope they make the shadow perks more interesting moving forward, because the lunar ones are always just flat out better, mostly because it usually boils down to whether you want to deal more damage to lunar enemies or shadow enemies. Woody is a good example of how it can be done, because he has a curse that forces him to transform into a were creature during the full moon, and when you beat CC you literally get to make a deal with the moon that gives you full control over your abilities. That makes thematic sense and it's extremely powerful for his character. Here's an idea, it's not really focused on but Wolfgang gets his powers from the codex umbra and Wigfrid got her powers from Maxwell, so what if siding with Charlie amped both their powers in a way that the lunar alignment simply can't, like Wolfgang goes into a shadow roid rage mode that boosts all of his physical abilities for a short time? Or on the opposite end of things, the full moon causes all the graves in the world to spawn ghosts, so maybe when she sides with Wagstaff Wendy could get the ability to summon an army of ghosts to fight alongside Abigail?
It really sucks how the shadow perks suck as i would much rather be shadow aligned simply because i think it's cooler, but the lunar fire spell is simply far better than the shadow one. I was also thinking that pierce would make a big difference. Shame that it's too late now and it'll never get fixed for some reason
Which is better really depends tho. Lunar has more utility since it's aoe, but shadow is an instant cast so your normal attacks aren't interrupted too much, so higher dps overall (up to 2 enemies at least). It also homes so you can just cast it once and not worry about aiming it since the flames will do the rest of the work for you. Combustion is also usually good enough for quite a few common aoe needing situations (bees, spiders, splumonkeys, maybe more...) Shadow is single target dps, lunar is multi. Choose what you prefer.
Beefalo are more then a weapon and a shield. They also (among other things) provide speed and carrying heavy objects. I haven't crunched the numbers on how much time the skills save but to me wigs rider skills are really good to use for those two reasons. I have heard people say that a rider beef is much better then an ornery for wig. This would help with speed runners set up chess pieces and the celestial altar. I don't think wig needs to give her skills to the beef, i think the beef has other things that help wigfrid more then acting as her shield.
Wigfrids skill tree is really weird, the Rider tree feels pointless, so is the ability to have stingers on cooldown, and she got the L with her affinities that are very average and barely useful. Wolfgang got a straight up +10%, which is significant since he already does x2, and Wigfrid not only has to wait till late game for the affinity songs, but is also forced into the CC route to get extra planar damage on her spear, because other planar weapons aren't as good with her... And Fuelweaver is always easier to rush than CC. The spear also locks her weapon choice to itself, making standard crafts suddenly crap, because planar damage is given to her only with the spear.
I wish klie make beefalo more viable for characters like wigfrid but raider skill tree is not good enough their need to make new saddle better and increse planar damage
I think a good change to the battle saddle is the character riding the beefalo is the one that attacksso when the saddle is equipped and you attack you use the item in your hand to attack and wigfrid and Wolfgang’s damage bonuses will apply as well as the damage reduction
I think just giving the beefalo 25% damage increase and damage reduction and the 40%damage reduction that the saddle already provide should be enough and to not overcomplicate things

I liked the wigfrid skill tree better 😅 i think she was always a fairly strong character and she mantained that position
i feel like Walter would make sence to get the beefalo skill as he have "experience" with woby
I think instead of adding skills to replace woby even more with beefalo, they should add skills that buff woby instead
