The first explanation I can think of (aside from hacking) is that someone managed to stack eight Stickies on top of each other in that corner. Note, Lazy only shot 6 times before the "single" sticky detonated, meaning that there were probably two stickies that survived long enough to detonate. I have two issues with this explanation, though. First, all Sticky Launchers have some spread, which would make the overlap even more difficult to pull off *_THAT_* cleanly. Secondly, it takes at least 2 stickies to kill a Soldier, and the kill-feed clearly shows that the Soldier died from the _minigun_ rather than the _Sticky_ .
The second explanation (again, aside from hacking) is that the demo planted a single sticky, but moving map geometry ended up "covering" the Sticky and shielding it from damage. I haven't played the map shown, but I *_almost_* feel like those gates are capable of opening when the cart reaches a certain checkpoint. If that's the case, it's possible for a Demo to have planted the sticky before the gates opened. Not only would this explain how the Sticky couldn't be destroyed, but it also explains how the Sticky wasn't able to do enough damage to kill the other Soldier (1 Sticky won't kill a fully healed Soldier, but 2+ will). It still doesn't explain how the sticky would've clipped through and into the gate's geometry in the first place, though.

The only explanation I can think of is that the spy was riding the explosion of a rocket or Sticky Trap and figured that they might as well go for a backstab on their way out (similar to how Lazy bullet-surfed thanks to a Wrangled enemy Sentry in order to backstab a fleeing Medic). The spy _was_ air-strafing correctly after the stab, so it's likely that they have at least some knowledge on rocket-jumping.
