Thank you for the video. I'm also thankful for most of the comments clarifying the difference between stitches in the UK and America. Every time she called it a treble, it through me for a loop. I had no idea that difference existed before.
thank you so much! I picked up everything you said very quickly (even though I'm used to the other terms), you are a wonderful teacher!! I always put if doing this because it seemed so complicated, but you made it so simple
Thank you, you're a fantastic teacher. You go at the perfect speed, not too fast, so I can see what you're actually doing. Too many crochet videos the teacher goes wayyyyy too fast and the camera doesn't show the actual thread/yarn and hook steps. I appreciate this video very much, thank you again!
Thank you very very much, finally I found what I was searching for. Many other tutorials are showing as a block two trebles and then two chains in the "blank block". I tried this but my work was very wide. Thank you
Thank you for adding this tutorial! I have never seen or thought about an open patern like that. One question.... why do you say trebble and do a double?
thank you for the great video.. I have a question .. I have a pattern for open work summer top. it is calling for FC-dec which is FILET CROCHET DECREASE. I don't know how this can be done? can you send me a link to a video on this or reply back to me. thank you so much for your help. Jan Smith
Also, in those other countries, I have seen the stitch we call single chrchet, called double crochet, and other stitches referred to by other names according to country.
I never knew what this type of crochet this was, the old Greek housewives did a lot of that with fine threat, curtains, beddings etc. It took them such a long time to make but the term they used was 'little hook'.
I would carefully sc around entire puece, being sure that you have the same number of sc per side. Then take two and hold them right sides together, and line up your sc. Beginning in a corner and working down the side of the block you will work a sl st through the front of the sc nearest you. Skip the back side of that and front of behind block and finish sl st by passing through far side of sc in back. Up through the front of one, over and down through the back of the other. Continue across. Where you are not grabbing the center it will lay nice and flat when open. Attatch them side by side in 1 strip as wide as your blanket will be. Repeat that. Then, take those straps and, like before, lay them according to the pattern, one row right side up, top row upside down and right sides facing. When you finish and lift the row, the hearts will be going in the right direction. When all straps are together, circle with border of choice .
BTW, the play list is entitled, Filet Crochet Mesh Heart Square. This guide is more of an overview. My series is a crochet-along. If you want a quick 6-minute lesson, this is great! If you want a slow detailed crochet-along then check out mine. Thanks!
treble or triple crochet is correct in Great Britain and Australia and some other countries. but people in the United States of America,, do correctly call that double crochet.

I'm sorry but this video is misinforming. not only are you referring to double crochets as trebles but there are 13 squares in the rows of the piece shown in the beginning of the video not 12 as you state...furthermore there is only 10 in the piece you actually create! If you are going to post tutorials for others to learn from, then please at least watch them through before you do - in order to check it is correct!
I'm going to quote a comment. I too find this video frustrating and will not be back. I am American but all the tutorials I follow are British and I have NO issue with treble/double nomenclature. My problem is that your base stitch and square numbers do not match up so I'm going to repeat this : Sheepsville Wales I'm sorry but this video is misinforming. not only are you referring to double crochets as trebles but there are 13 squares in the rows of the piece shown in the beginning of the video not 12 as you state...furthermore there is only 10 in the piece you actually create! Wow, not as complicated as I thought it was. Thanks for the clear and concise explanation and tutorial

Thanks for an excellent video. Your speed of teaching is great, helped me get my head around the concept well.
I always thought this was more complicated!! Thank you!
Going to practice a few, before making funny ones as gifts

Justin Chen: in Europe and other countries the U.S. double crochet is called a triple or treble.
Wonderful instructions. Thank you!
Thanks for an awesome video I stumbled on this after watching 5 others and this one finally helped me! Great job
Super helpful! Thanks so much for the tutorial! c:
Great video. If I want my first row to be filled in how is this done?
Interesting you chose a filet heart design. I did on my video a couple of years ago. I have a tutorial series on using 1 chart for several techniques.
I just scrolled through all your videos and cannot find anything about filet crochet. Help?
what yarn did she use? it looks super shiny and soft!
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Thank you for adding this tutorial! I have never seen or thought about an open patern like that.
One question.... why do you say trebble and do a double?
Chris Apao Because different counties have different terminology. 😊

The names of stitches follow the custom of the country of the speaker.
Thank you!
So I just have a question. How do you figure out how many chains you need for the number of boxes you have?
Mikey from crochet crowd says it's a multiple of 4 then add 1 at the end. other people use smaller numbers, though.
Can you show how to the whole thing showing how to do the heart
How did you have that much squares in 12 chains + skipping 1 chain in every double crochet, I can't get it really
blackbeauty 0883 there's 24 chains 12 squares
thank you for sharing
Thanks alot for I understood how to do it
Hi tried the dog filet .Gave up because it was confusing. Love from South Africa
Boa tarde da pra senhora pra mim mostrara passo a passo a passo em português
People, in the UK a Treble or a Triple is what is considered a double here. Stop correcting her on that, you look like fools.
🙄 hello, how many already did before you came along? And you added to it? Hmm. Don't be rude.
The chain count is 13+4 which is 17 chain then skip 5.

James Fleenor In Poland also is double crotchet, in South Africa also. We use also mm, cm, m, km, etc.

I'm sorry. I have been crocheting since I was ten years old but I am just not understanding the concept.
This lady sounds like she is not from the U.S.A.
I concur.
The vast majority of the world is not from the USA.
American term is double, European terms is treble. I have no idea why lol
I'm lost.
JESUS! Not finished.
Frustrated...

UK terms, you ding bat.
Sheepsville Wales In some countries double crochet is referred to as treble crochet
How rude.. Get your own facts right.. It's not a tutorial for a finished piece so the number of squares is somewhat irrelevant
@@contessaeller4108 lol😂😂😂😂😂😂

It's a double crochet not treble or triple
Just FYI you are doing Double crochets...NOT trebles.
Elisheva Reynolds in Britain, that is a treble. If you crochet much, you know how to convert their stitches to ours.
