Other tutorials I've seen that aren't the basic stuff don't show how they do the actual crocheting. I've been crocheting since I was 5-6 years old, was taught basics my Polish Auntie Stacia, who also took care of me when I was that age when my Mum was working in the textile mills of Passaic, NJ, circa 1968. EVERY female on my Dad's side of the family crocheted (and even one Uncle!), mostly doilies, so I learned THAT first, crazy as it sounds at such a young age. As my cousin would say..."we are Polish!! It's the golden rule that you know how to crochet, ha ha!" ANYHOO, I've gotten pretty darn good at this lovely fiber art but NEVER attempted entrelec crochet! My first afghan was Tunisian crochet I completed when I was 8! In bright pink, purple and white strips--VERY GIRLY! It was warm and I was so proud. My Mum helped me crochet strips together. I was so proud. So I already know basic concept, just not the entrelac part. Now I'm 56 and I still have things to learn! Your tutorial is fantastic and I love the way your blocks look. I've researched about six channels and you're the best!!! So thank you...just by watching your video, I get it and can't wait to try. Wish me luck!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🙏🤞
It's a bit tricky with the first two rows, mostly in the beginning and ending parts of row two. As always you make these complicated-looking patterns super easy to make. 💖
I got the beginning of row 2 easy, it's the last square that's hard. After you draw up a loop from the last stitch in row one (first color) where are you pulling loops from so the last square of second color is squared and not scrunched? It seems you have to add a stitch unless I'm missing it.

So glad I came across this! Id like to make an Entrelac blanket with some beautiful variegated, long repeat yarn from Hobbii, as Im sure the colour changes will look stunning; a bit different to the usual stripes. Only I tried knitting Entrelac and it was so fiddly and tricksy that I shelved my idea. Now I've seen how it's done with Tunisian crochet, I can work out a suitable size of square/diamond for my planned blanket! Wonderful! And no fiddling around turning the work 157 times per square! Thank you for such clear instructions. 🤩🥳🤩

My wheels are turning for color ideas!! I’m still beginner. I used to try to make blankets yrs ago in my teens/20’s but but could only get to like the 10th row and give up lol. Just started back up in my 40’s couple months ago. I have 2 blankets started. Bout to start a 3rd and start a scarf. And ideas for more blankets! Tunisian Crochet is one of my most recent newfound loves! :) This stitch looks complex but is very simple to learn.

You picked out some great fabrics. A glow in the dark skirt...AWESOME! I'm working on an entrelac blanket and a waffle stitch blanket (just started both). I like the waffle stitch because its fun and a little textured. Hope your hand allows you to make something awesome.

i saw a video short on this, and came to youtube to find the tutorial, I am doing 5 colors. i take it you weave in the ends, but i just tied them off and cut them, I plan on doing a border when i get it to the lenght i want. thank you for showing this , its a every easy stitch to do.
With Tunisian, the key is to draw up loops nice and tall so they don't slouch over (curl). Sometimes using a larger hook than called for helps. Other than that the weight of most blankets will make it go flatter after a few more diamonds.
Renee Garnett iv never done Tunisian b4 and was thinking I'll give it a go into a blanket I guess it would look the same as her sample but bigger she does say at the start u can add extra x
Most people leave the edges like that on a blanket. Larger surfaces look good with it. Others however will taper the edges into a triangle by decreasing on the one side to create flat sides. Personally I like the edges with the zig zag.
I swear, you can teach me anything! I was scared of this pattern, although I know the Tunisian stitch, but I think I can get through it now. Can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for this and other vids. One of my favorite teachers!
I did a small baby blanket in two color like that once except I did my rows diagonally so the edges would be straight. For instance, I started with just one block in the corner, then the next row in the second color was two blocks attached to the side and top of the corner block. The third row had the blocks again starting at the bottom to this right of the second row and growing up diagonally to the left and so on.

Depending upon what size hook you use, this usually turns out a little stiff for scarves. It doesn't drape well.

i saw a video short on this, and came to youtube to find the tutorial, I am doing 5 colors. i take it you weave in the ends, but i just tied them off and cut them, I plan on doing a border when i get it to the lenght i want. thank you for showing this , its a every easy stitch to do.

With Tunisian, the key is to draw up loops nice and tall so they don't slouch over (curl). Sometimes using a larger hook than called for helps. Other than that the weight of most blankets will make it go flatter after a few more diamonds.

Renee Garnett iv never done Tunisian b4 and was thinking I'll give it a go into a blanket I guess it would look the same as her sample but bigger she does say at the start u can add extra x
Most people leave the edges like that on a blanket. Larger surfaces look good with it. Others however will taper the edges into a triangle by decreasing on the one side to create flat sides. Personally I like the edges with the zig zag.
I had the same thought but with using it for a hat :))
cant live it like that for a hat so I have to figure out a way to smooth them out LOL

I did a small baby blanket in two color like that once except I did my rows diagonally so the edges would be straight. For instance, I started with just one block in the corner, then the next row in the second color was two blocks attached to the side and top of the corner block. The third row had the blocks again starting at the bottom to this right of the second row and growing up diagonally to the left and so on.
