Thanks a lot for this, I have to do a Gram stain for my lab practical, and this really helped me understand all the steps of the process. EDIT: Thanks to Secord, I aced the Gram stain portion of the exam! Overdid it a little with the crystal violet, but after I decolorized it everything came out fine and I got the correct results.

Sir why did you use? 95% ethanol when using a crystal violet? Isn't it 100% acetone?
Crystal violet isn't for gram stain? and basic fuchsin for AFB?
