This instrument is called DUDUK, its an ARMENIAN instrument. DUDUK is low pitched tool, mainly played for sad music. For example this instrument is in the "Galdiator" movie and also in "Passion of the Christ" movie. Zurna is a similar instrument like duduk, but (ZURNA) its a high pitched tool. its more for dancing music
in Tetouan they still talk in ladino accent and the maghrebi accent from north of morocco, hey are a lot of ladino words. But this music, has a special meaning and Yasmin Levy brings the old culture alive and you can hear that in her sound!!! Thanks I have your cd!! salut
Great to hear my Armenian brother playing the Tsiranapogh (what became to be called even by Armenians Duduk afther the big Ottoman Occupations, todays Turkey) for one of the Greatest voices in World Music!!! Tsiranapogh means flute of the abricot tree in Latin for more then 2000 years it is Prumus Armeniaca means Armenian tree wich is the onley original tree where the instrument called duduk must be made from!!! That s why Eva Rivas Eurovison song Abricot Stone was so special for Armenians!!!

Потрясающе!!! С сожалением узнала, что пропустила концерты в Москве... Осталась призрачная надежда, что они не последние! Удивительная музыка, ни на что не похожая!
Chorus: I'm a thousand miles from nowhere Time don't matter to me 'Cause I'm a thousand miles from nowhere And there's no place I want to be I got heartaches in my pocket I got echoes in my head And all that I keep hearing Are the cruel things that you said Chorus I've got bruises on my memory I've got tear stains on my hands And in the mirror there's a vision Of what used to be a man Chorus
@Xreals Yasmin, the singer, she is singing in jew spanish, this language is also know as Ladino, the language of the sefardies (Old Jewish inhabitants of Spain) therefore this language is not dead. The jew spanish one is something like that as an old Castilian, an inhabitant from Spain could speak perfectly with a sefardí, some words would be different and they would sound otherwise, but I am from Spain, I have read and heard the Ladino one and I can understand it.
@tenkso its neither latino nor spanish, its ladino -jewish spanish- its a dead language from medieval, jews spoke spanish with some hebrew words but they expelled to ottoman empire, so they exchange words from turkish and greek language. Ladino is not spanish, When I say "El Vapur esta yanasando al iskele" the spanish men wouldnt unterstand any word . Btw. the first part is Ladino, the second part is Aramic language. I hope this helps.
please help! can anyone post the lyrics to this beautiful song (in spanish and if possible the arabic too), I tried googling it but couldn't find. (I know the hebrew text, trying to also translate to english) thank you so much. you can send me a message too.

Shakira doesn't "fake it". She's half Lebanese, and frequently uses those roots for musical inspiration.
