White Queen - LIve at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975 You Take My Breath Away - Live at Hyde Park, 1976 are two amazing tracks, and performances, from Queen's earlier catalogue.
I absolutely loved your reaction to this Queen song ….I’m so happy to see how much you enjoyed it. Please don’t expect any two Queen songs to be alike …..other than being fantastic. I believe this is the only band where all four members have wrote #1 hit songs and all four of them are in the Song Writers Hall of Fame….. that is why so many of the songs have such different vibes, coming from the different writers. Freddie Mercury is the lead singer, he has a college degree in Art & Graphic Design. Dr. Brian May plays lead guitar and has a PHD in Astrophysics. Drummer Roger Taylor has degree in Biology and the bass player John Deacon has a first class honors degree in Electronic Engineer. The band began in 1970 and played together up until the death of Freddie in 1991. They have almost 300 recorded songs including solo albums….with 20 years of hits…… you will recognize some of them ….you just never knew they were by Queen. Most Queen songs are better when performed live …..better than the studio releases. Please ….you must react to “Somebody to Love “ live in Montreal 1981. I can’t wait to watch your Queen journey…. I liked and subscribed. Thank you so much .
You need to see this group singing where they were happiest that was on a stage. I'll give you 2 songs one from very early it was on their first album. It is Liar live at the Rainbow London 1974 each member has a solo,8 minutes of bliss. The second is Now I'm here live at Wembley Saturday night 1986,this was their last tour as Freddie was diagnosed with Aids the next year,it is one of my favourite performances. Although they didn't tour they continued to make music and videos until weeks before Freddie's death. Keep up the good work I've been a fan since 1974 and am so pleased that young people like you will continue to carry this music forward x
You know Queen, you just dont realize it yet. Watch Queen's 1985 Live AID set, it is a must. It is 20 min, but goes by quickly. You will realize that you do know them.
Thanks, Dude.. only ONE guitar.. Brian May... John Deacon on the bass.. and Roger Taylor on Drums....Brian and Roger sang harmony... such a fun song, right?... really enjoyed your reaction... look forward to more...
Total mood elevating song, I love this one. Thank you and Happiest of holidays to you and your family. You should check out Queen: White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975. Freddie's vocals are captivating and the insturmental part of the song is off the charts, lots of piano and screaming guitar. My favorite live performance.
If you want to gain a lot more subscribers, start doing a lot of Queen reactions. We are a huge fan base and we really enjoy watching people discover their music for the first time. They have a huge catalog and are responsible for some of the most iconic songs in music. If you’ve ever heard We Will Rock You or We Are The Champions at a sporting event, you’ve heard Queen. Definitely check out Somebody to Love, but do the live version for Montreal in 1981. It is the best version of that song and you can see how good Roger Taylor, the drummer, can sing. He has an amazing voice also.
Freddie was really living to the max at this time the band were quite concerned for him. ❤ great reaction please check out Montreal live HD somebody to love Freddie said it's probably a better song that he wrote then Bohemian Rhapsody. And the Live Aid concert Wembley 1985 watch by 1.9 billion people around the world a charity event to raise money for starving children in Ethiopia. X thanks again
I'm not sure how much you know about the band or the members so I'll share some information with you. The guys are as fascinating as the music. BAND: Queen was formed in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor. After going through a few bass players John Deacon joined them at the beginning of 1971. They were together until Freddie’s death in 1991. Freddie, Roger and Brian had solo careers as well. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they are the first and I believe only to be inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame as a band. They are the only band that each band member wrote at least 1 number 1 hit. From their beginning they did things differently than other bands. They practiced for months and would only perform in front of family and friends instead of playing pubs and clubs so that they could get their performance and stage act the way they wanted it. They were professional and perfectionists even from the start. They were very involved with all aspects of the business including their lighting, stage look, production, management and what they wore. They had the first moving lighting rig (looked like a crown) and other innovative lighting techniques that bands would copy. After they split from their management company they managed themselves and John Deacon oversaw their financials and they would not do anything unless John gave the ok. They were co-producers on almost all their albums. They were virtuosos and their harmonies with Freddie's powerful, clear, crisp vocal, Brian's warm, soft vocal and Roger's raspy high falsetto vocal made any song feel bigger. They were the first rock band to perform at stadiums in South America and behind the Iron Curtain. They have the longest running fan club. It started in 1973. This made the Guiness Book of World Records. Freddie Mercury: Lead vocalist, songwriter, composer, record producer and plays piano. He can also play guitar and keyboards. Depending on what you read he had a 3 to 4 octave vocal range and according to a scientific study had a voice unlike any other in rock and roll history in part due to his extremely fast vibrato. He had perfect pitch. He graduated with a diploma in graphic design and designed the band’s logo. He also studied fashion design. He is arguably the best frontman ever in rock. By all accounts he was a shy, kind and generous person. He could get on a stage and hold 500,000 people in the palm of his hand but he couldn’t walk into a room full of people without someone with him. His real personality was quite different than his stage persona. Freddie passed away in 1991. Dr. Sir Brian May: Lead guitarist, backing/lead vocals, songwriter, record producer. He can also play bass, keyboards, piano, harp, synthesizer and banjolele. He was knighted in 2023. Brian has a PhD in Astrophysics and collaborated with NASA on their New Horizons Pluto mission and he has an asteroid named in his honor. He has an IQ of 181. Brian was Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University and is also a leading authority on stereoscopic (3D) photography. When Brian was 16 he and his father made his electric guitar out of items they had around the house. They even made some of the tools they used to make the guitar. The neck of the guitar is hand carved from an 18th century fireplace mantle, the body from an oak table, Mother of pearl buttons were used for the fret markers and the tremolo bar made from bike parts and his mother’s knitting needle. It is called the Red Special and 60 years later it is still Brian’s main guitar. His guitar has a sound like no other. He uses a sixpence as a plectrum and prefers those made before 1957 as they were made a bit differently after that. Roger Taylor: Drummer, backing/lead vocals, songwriter, record producer. He also plays guitar, bass, piano, keyboards and synthesizer. He has a falsetto vocal range which earned him the nickname, the Dog Whistle by his bandmates. I’ve seen some articles that state he has a 5 octave vocal range. He went to school to become a Dentist and got bored with it and got a degree in Biology obtaining a BSc. He has a unique sound playing drums and was chosen as the 8th greatest drummer in classic rock in a listener poll conducted by Planet Rock. John Deacon: Bassist, songwriter, record producer and would oversee the band’s financials. He also played double bass, rhythm guitar, piano, keyboards, drums and synthesizer. He earned a First Class Honours degree in Electronic Engineering (while playing in Queen). He made an amp called the Deacy Amp from a speaker cabinet and parts he found in the trash. He used it for a while and then gave it to Brian to use which enabled Brian’s guitar to sound like different orchestral instruments. Brian hired experts to duplicate it but no one was ever able to make one to sound like Deacon’s amp.
Four songwriters each with a different style, but the SOUND aleays distinctly Queen. Unless you grew up with the band, you might not be prepared for early Thrash Metal (STONE COLD CRAZY live at the Rainbow 1974) or funk (DRAGON ATTACK live at Montreal), Will be terrific for you to see LIVE AID 1985 (global benefit concert for faminine victims in Ethiopia, Africa).
This song was scientifically proven to be the happiest song ever. Unfortunately for Brian, Roger and John they did not feel the same way. At the time they recorded this the guys were very worried about Freddie and his lifestyle and Freddie didn’t want to hear it.
I realise you are new to Queen, but please don't refer to John, Roger and Brian as "the background people" . They are the band "Queen". All of them equally important and talented. All composed individual hits. Love your enthusiasm though.
If you haven’t already, check out Somebody to Love live ‘81 Montreal concert.
