haha I do have the hollowbody 2 in the background which has the 85/15LT...it's definitely on the list of demos I need to do!

Dang, that thing crunches out nice!! I really like the sandblasted look. How cool would it be for them to put some black chrome hardware on that? Seems like the trem unit stays in tune like all of theirs do. How many sub $1,000 guitars can do that?

Id like to see in a few years that prs having great affordable guitars is just the way things are, because then they'll have to start making great affordable limited edition guitars or signatures that are just a bit more special or quirky. 6:21 -7:08 i like that, i cant play by ear very well but I'm gonna have to figure that out. Also, i like how you show the pickup position on screen but i think it would be easier to notice and look better if it had a colored border or a background layer so it stands out more. ❤ cheers Benny!

I had in mind to get the red version of this one and upgrade it as my own signature. I love the finish. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll surely buy it by 18 of this month. Does it have any fret issues? Like sharp endings or imperfections on the fretboard?
mine certainly didn't. you're gonna wanna set it up most likely because just the plastic on the pickup covers will make the action high, but mine was money from the time I took a few mins to adjust it

Awesome review, Benny! PRS gig bags are awesome too. Better than EVH and Fender on higher price guitars. How does the tuning hold up on this with the tremolo bar? And beautiful new room. Looks like you can put in a lot more guitars!

Question for you… Do you think by PRS releasing all these budget lines and models it semi cheapens the brand? I believe we are in the same age bracket and I remember also growing up and striving / drooling for my 1st PRS. It was kind dream for me at one point and when I got my 1st Custom 22 10 Top it made it that much more special. I love a great budget guitar and by no means knocking it but I just think it semi takes away from the magical mystique of the core line. That’s why I kind of like how Gibson and Fender brand Epiphone and Squire. You know it’s a budget line geared for students and semi professional. You also have something to strive for.
yes, I do. I think it's a smart economic move and marketing move and a good thing for prs, but from a purist level it makes them less exclusive. that said, they aren't making more core models, they're just making more se so they're still exclusive, but not in the same way as they were before. many people don't even acknowledge the se as being a prs. I think it's a double edged sword and it's hard to be in two markets but they're doing it by creating tiers between the core the s2 and the se
I understand the feeling but I never bought a PRS so someone else could say .....oh a PRS.... I bought it because it felt ...as you said magical in my hands. The way they are doing it is genius! There is no way I would have purchased a PRS back in the day but guess what...... I went SE to CE to core to private stock build. I still play all of them. Fan boy all the way!
So as a curious content creator, at what point do you start getting free guitars 😂 I don't have tiktok, so what's like the sub/viewer count across your platforms? I notice agufish would get free stuff at like 30-40k on TH-cam as well, but I'm sure there's more to it, like constant almost daily shorts on tiktok & ig right?
PRS has given me some of the guitars they've sent me but, for example, this one I sent. back. They gave me a few as thank yous but definitely not guaranteed. They hit me up because their marketing had seen a bunch of my videos. I don't think it had as much to do with my numbers as my content

They are great guitars, only thing they need to be perfect is to swap out the pots and switch with PRS American pots and switch.

Looking at them from a strictly value driven standpoint. Charging $200 extra for the top to be blasted swamp ash? The satin ones at $499 are just fine. I'd save the money and buy other stuff.
I'm pretty sure Paul did a limited run of them for a reason. Gauge the market (obviously),but most likely because they're a pain in the ass. Especially just to do only a top, for an extra few bones? Not that smart of a move. More trouble than it's worth.
I think they're the best looking finishes on any guitar currently. But brands haven't been that keen on having standard production models with that spec. Unless it's that flat matte paint, and no colored grain filler. Like my LTD te1000 black blast. Somebody has to take the leap, and do a standard production run of them. With the whole body done proper, and 5-6 color options on the grain filler. Won't be under $1000-1200'ish, but they'd still sell for sure if they keep them under $1500. My LTD lists at $1099 currently.
for 699 it rules. it feels much better than the Satin, I like the wide thin neck. just my two cents

just personal preference. some people HATE satin
