I could see a field refit where the small turrets have their cannons stripped out, the side machine guns moved into their place, and the machine gun ports welded shut to convert this into a dedicated infantry support platform for a heavy mechanized unit. Especially if one survives to late war, ditching one of the calibers that would need to be supplied to it. Or they can go crazy and swap the howitzer for an improvised quad machine gun to remind infantry why tanks are scary.

Hey eta, here is a tip for copying turrets so they match up about as good as we can get it rn: Build your ‘paste turret’, set up your ‘copy turret’ to have the same amount of points, then select your paste turret’s points and use the point position thing in the side bar to get the exact same location for the respective points. Hope it helps eliviate the problem of copying! Love the vids, keep it up!
This video found me after months of not playing sprocket. This is awesome, I can finally recreate all the modern dead track vehicles I've gotten to drive.
19:22 if i remember correctly you can copy paste it... sort of, you have to save one of the turrets (you can see top right when you edit it it says "untitled structure" basically you put a name to it and save it and then you place another default turret and hit load when you have it selected and you just load the same turret!
suspension is cool but the tracks tension and the jiggles was the most satisfying thing I've ever seen and hope to see it in more tank games to be implemented
When you edit points, under the Thickness slider, there is a sub-tab called Position. You can perfectly align points by editing their X, Y and Z coordinates.
Hello Eta320. I am very pleased with this video, I know you are not primarily a sprocket TH-camr but you have so much cool content that is very inspiring. With your question with the armour profile. If you made the back turrets for anti air purposes you could make it a proper heavy tank. I did see you have enough room to squiz two engines in the back. One gun for anti tank, big high explosive round from the short 75 in the hull and the extra turret with the 37 mm anti personel connon or just secondary weaponry this can easily be a heavy tank in a similar job as a Churchill. Heavy armour, enough engine. Good fire power and protection against multiple types of targets and I call that a great tank. Love your channel and please do more content on sproket ❤❤❤
They should add proper infantry targets that move on their own and take up objectives near you, and can damage your tank if they're close enough to throw grenades or fire RPGs/Faust thingamabobs
The game I can think of that has the best physics for tank tracks is 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Tank Crew - Clash at Prokhorovka' which is set during the Battle of Prokhorovka (Kursk) in 1943 and is part of the 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles' flight sim
I made an M3 inspired heavy for a comp once. It had to have a 105 main gun and at least 1 other turret, and a minimum of 40 tons. So I make it, looks pretty neat, partial cast design. Both guns work flawlessly, hull mantlet works fine. But somehow in making the hull and merging points, it goy flipped inside-out. This was before geometric was even announced. Shots came in, disappeared in the hull, made a hole on the opposite side, and did not damage.
Time to see showdown of the century between: [Track Tension Is Absolute And Thus Only Track Surface Area Matters] gang VS [Track Is Made Out Of Cartoonish Rubber So Only Wheel Number And Placement Matters] gang. Yeah, let's ducking go!
5:50 Because War Thunder uses a scrolling texture with simulated depth, and Sprocket uses a 100% 3D track model where every link is a separate mesh with its own weight and friction. I believe Sprocket is based off a Unity store asset that helps making WoT style vehicles, one of the features was fully simulated tracks but I think they were too performance intensive to add to the game, but the developer has optimised them to the point that it's viable now.
whilst I was looking at the tank my mind completely blanked out all turrets except the top Pak40 and the bottom howitzer and all it made me think of was the Valkyria Chronicles imperial Medium & Heavy Tanks
38:10 i feel like if an aphe shell shot through the side of your turret that might be a bigger issue than a couple shells going up in the turret as well
Chassis mounted sponson could get swapped out for one of the infantry howitzer style guns, think something like the Bison, where it's a very short 15 cm howitzer
So there is or at least was a way you could save guns, turrets, shells, etc. I’m not sure if it is on the test branch, but you can straight up save and copy these parts to other parts. Quite fun too since if ya get bored, and you have bothered to save all of your parts, you can just grab random ones and see what fits together, kinda like playing CTS but you made the parts.
Land Battleship please. I want a german supertank with american influence. At least thiccc frontal armor. Maybe moderate thiccness to the side armor. You can sacrifice the thickness of the sides, roof, rear, and bottom. Also please straighten the loaders back up a bit. Make him take a knee or you'll need to replace lots of loaders for this tank ;- P As always, thanks for the great video
how I look at the why collision isn't detected by the road wheels when you sneak the return wheels in is to prevent code bloat. like if you use or add return rollers. it's mostly because you're using it so collision with road wheels isn't necessary. same with not using it. You probably want to see it collide with the road wheels so turning off the roller will result on it actually making contact with the wheels
Make the armor thicker on the front, and paperthin everywhere else. Good for defense, the two rear turrets can either be for anti air or emergency uses if surrounded.
used to play sprocket when it came out and ive kinda given up on the game when they added the completely customisable turrets and hulls mostly because I dont know how to properly customise and armour my tanks. I could google it but I just havent
On that second turret, I think the problem with the gun drifting is the front (small) side of the elevation arc is colliding with the mantlet- this problem has confused me occasionally, so I think that your problem was that the gun was pushed too far forwards into the mantlet
The Schwerer Durchbruchsunterstützung Landkreuzer A German-American prototype made by the coalition (alternate history where germany and america are allied) Its armour: Lower front plate is 10cm Upper front plate is 10cm-7cm Sponson front is 8cm Side is 6.5cm Lower side is 5cm Back is 6.5cm Hull roof is 2cm Turret roof is 2.5cm Produced in the late 1930s 3 prototypes were made, by the invasion of poland, the first prototype sent to battle was lost due to a breakdown in the mud, the second one was destroyed during the battle of France, while the last one survived the war, being present in the russian counter-attack in stalingrad, and the british landings of norway. EDIT 1: converted the maximum thickness of the UFP from 9cm to 10cm
I kind of feel like this would have thinner armor, maybe panzer III type armor of near universal armor thickness with additional external plating on flatter spots near the front
