I took in a ton of information from this interview. Joel really knows how to ask the right questions. The techniques discussed at 9:10 was super helpful. I've been trying the technique Alan explains at 10:56 pertaining to using an ER reverb and flipping the stereo field (LR). It is a game changer for me. I've never been that great with reverb, but this has helped incredibly with trying to blend libraries better! I barely feel the need to depend on a tail reverb that much anymore. Thank you so much, both of you!
absolutely valuable material. As always underrated by the algorithm. If people keep doing stupid videos like “is this the best reverb ever?” or “is this the best control surface ever?” with stupid faces on thumbnails maybe the algorithm changes
Alan is my absolute go to for Orchestral mixing. The most experienced pro engineer for this stuff. So generous with such educated knowledge is a huge blessing! I've also heard that he's happy to answer questions in person if you have them
Internet hahaha. I dont have the pleasure of knowing Alan in person. Yesterday I watched a video of his, in which I didn't check for the release date. Now I watched this and that vid must be at least 5 years old. Made quite an impact on me. LOL
Hi Joel , I think this is one of the best interviews I've seen so far, to one of the best, for me the best, sound technicians, scoring mixer, the great, nice and always available Alan Meyerson. You asked him some really smart questions and for all fans of the genre, very useful. Especially how it works with low frequencies and how it distributes them in the sound spectrum. Really a great job, I respect you a lot, this information is gold for many fans like me of this musical genre. We also saw Luigi, who is really nice and he too wanted some visualizations !!! Really thank you 😘🙋♂️

Great interview. How does Alan manage his stem delivery if he is sending to reverbs from his master orchestra mix bus? Many instances on the dubbing stage where the director wants to lower or remove something and then your reverb stem has that part remaining.
The huge brass hits in Inception are some of the best sounds I’ve heard in a film score.

I took Alan's Mix with the Master's seminar and it was really life-changing. His videos on their website are also fantastic. He's an absolute genius!
Incredible. What a joy to listen to. Masterclass.
Great tips! Amazing that us bedroom composers/mixers have access to all the same plugins that the pros are using.
Super awesome!! htanks for doing this!
Thank you for the interview! Make another one on hybrid music mixing! :) Alan's Man of Steel mixes are peak audio engineering! :)
That's a really interesting & helpful conversation - thanks for posting, Joël!

Did not expect this at all haha, great job!
I don’t know how you got him on your channel but thank you! Always great hearing him talk
Omg. Thanks for posting this. I can't wait to watch this when I get home later.

Brilliant Joel...
Great video
Alan est un gentleman!
which is the name of this last mentioned plugin?

Great talk. No idea why Luigi didn't like it.
