- I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. I met this marine on Sep. 11. He's a completely down to earth God, country and family marine. And yes, he sounds just like this behind the microphone.
Theres just something about a legit Marine standing their ground that makes you remember why so many countries wish they had half the heart we do.

David W. Hedrick is running for U.S. Congress. He is a Conservative Constitutionalist running as a Republican. As of today, Hedrick is the favorite to win. He has more than twice the volunteers of the other candidates in the race, Combined! Today, Hedrick was promised the endorsement and support of a VERY prominent national Conservative that everyone here will recognize. This endorsement and support will materialize in January if Hedrick can meet one condition.
As a Tea Partier and former life long Dem, the only thing that all of us care about is fiscal responsiblity in DC! At my first official Tea Party, I met an atheist Libertarian standing for the same as me.
I was a part of operation Iron curtain. We went to towns near the syrian border where foriegners were pouring into the country and recieving weapons from other countries. So don't sit there and tell me what I saw, when all you have seen is what you have read.
Remember that it was Obama himself that had promised a new era of transparency. All appointments by the Executive are supposed to fill out a 7 page, 63 question questionnaire, but Obama had NONE OF THEM do this.
But even this 7-page questionnaire is NOT ENOUGH OVERSIGHT by the Congress, as some have explained.
Kudos to David William Hedrick, I hope he succeeds in Washington & does not get caught up in the political game.

It was a Town Hall meeting. There isn't enough time to debate with people. The whole point is so people can voice their concerns to their congressmen.
BTW sean from windsor locks CT,the mercenaries work in a less risky position,they don't go on patrols in hostile territory under enemy fire and assault.Some mercenaries were making more than General Tommy Franks (more than 36 years of service) who commanded the US armed forces in bush's war in Iraq.
Thanks to this fine Marine for telling it like it is. I hope Rep. Baird is on his way out in the next election.

The actual crowd estimate was in excess of 2 million.

Govt is not interfering in the development of cell phones. The technology keeps improving, the price keeps going down.

The only arena where healthcare is doled out based primarily on productivity is the U.S.'s current pay-or-die system.Top CEOs are rewarded with billions and the unemployed are stripped of private coverage.Similarly, people who have serious conditions are dropped by the insurers because they are risky. But risk of an expensive relapse is also correlated with lost productivity -if you're on chemo, you're not working.

Do you realize how much money it costs to host the Olympic games? Billions. We are on the brink of a major depression. Do you think we should have tried to undertake something like that. Washington, D.C. - On September 25th there will be a national prayer gathering of Muslims on the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building. They are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from mosques all across America.They will gather to pray from 4:00 AM until 7:00 PM. . The organizers say that it was Obama's inauguration speech in January and his speech broadcast from Egypt in June that gave them the idea for this prayer gathering on Capitol Hill.
My point is while there was a shortage of vehicles that can survive an IED,while bush failed to adequately provide us with proper body armor.He was wasting money hiring high paid FOREIGN mercenaries.
There are alternatives for people with no insurance. Millions of them, for example, qualify for Medicaid but have not enrolled.
There are local clinics that charge according to your salary. I go to one myself. There are hospitals devoted to child illnesses & cancers that are free for those patients. There are church organizations who give discounted and/or free healthcare.
The "compassion" argument is used to make you want socialism.

But what you're saying is "we let the govt take our money & spend it on war, so why not also spend it on creating more socialism in our country, bankrupting us even more, & trampling on the Constitution more?"

I'm glad I chose to major in economics. I learned many things. One key is that WHEN THE GOVERNMENT TRIES TO "FIX" THINGS IN A CAPITALIST ECONOMY...THINGS WILL GO HAYWIRE.

Rev Manning states that he doesn't think that obama even went to Columbia, that he was living with his male partner and doing a lot of drugs in Harlem in the 80's. This is heresey, I didn't witness it and I doubt that Rev Manning did either, but we are bound to have questions regarding a man who prevents allowing the public to see his past with so much money and drive.

I'd like to think that the American interpretation of "the People" is a little different than the failed social experiment in eastern Europe. "The People" should be the group of sovereign individuals that owns and controls it's government with the ballot and dialogue with it's representatives as opposed to the catch phrase misused by Lenin on down to wield power.
