I'm so fed up with this bs. I won't be uploading my content for Tiktok and Instagram for the near future until I figure out how to stop burning out consistenly. I'm gonna hang out here on TH-cam mainly, cause my mental health is more important
@@DomPuzzles true. TH-cam is the absolute best place for creators in the long-term. After experiencing virality more than a few times the views on their own don’t matter
@GregGelf24 I disagree with Instagrams policies when it comes to teen users. It's been shown to be a major issue for body image and self worth, especially among girls, it's even led to multiple suicides. That, and being owned by FB and their terrible data ownership policies. I won't use TikTok because of China, while they SAY they don't harvest data, I'm not inclined to believe it.
I can understand that. My friend just deleted his instagram, and the first thing it recommended to him when he reopened it, is basically soft adult content, and other stupid stuff. One tap is all it takes to damage brains these days. Definitely not a fun place to be at as a creator. (as a business, btw, It's different imo. Cause it became one of the biggest driving traffic sources overall. It's the sad reality)
I feel like as a content creator (3d printing and laser cutting tutorials) TH-cam is the platform I have to be on. Which is ok as i like YT. However, as an Etsy seller of laser cutting and 3D printing files I have to be on Instagram / Tiktok and i hate it. All the other sellers who make the videos showing how they made 1000 sales over the weekend, how awesome and successful they are drive me insane. I know most videos are fake but it's still depressing. I wish i could just be on youtube
@@itskazzui I really understand that. There’s a money-prn culture on these socials. You get shown stuff you’d really want to have but they don’t show you their failures or struggle on the way. We are then left feeling like failures. I can totally understand🙏🏼 I think there’s an alternative though, like having UGC and influencers promoting your shop
I tried to start with Social media to sell my puzzles, but that is totally not my thing. I might also stop trying to use kickstarter for future puzzles. It's super difficult to learn all the algoritmes and stuff and I'm much more happy spending my time without. The time I save I can use to design new puzzles in the meantime and I believe that time is much more worth. I rather like to sell only a few puzzles of each puzzle, but have many different designs than the opposite. I think when you make video content you should also do the thing you like the most and what feels the best. Just keep it to long video's on youtube sounds good! I prefer also long video's!
@@DuncantenKate in marketing there’s a tough decision, all of us need to do it but some ways don’t work for us. I would start with one platform and one algorithm, because some socials can actually really help growth. But it should be used with huge caution as to not let it rule over your time.

That's one of many reasons I don't use Tiktok, Instagram. It's a waste of time. TH-cam is not perfect but it's the best we have.

Yeah definitely refuse to use TikTok and Instagram, for numerous reasons. Even doing shorts here can be tedious.
@@timliebrockpuzzles what other reasons there are for not using them?
