My brain hurts from trying to understand this 😭
@@username-re9yk yeah this is literally how all of these interviews at the union go. It's a conversation, not a pantomime. Questions from the audience follow the conversation. Of all things to criticize this is a weird one.
@@username-re9yk I feel like she could've at least looked at them a few more times and said things that gave them a chance to feel acknowledged since she was brought to a college to be interviewed in front of them and it wasn't that big of a crowd so really she could've just done that. This is the President of Oxford Union, Gabbie is Speaking to. Fyi. This person interviews Political Leaders, Activists, and Artist of every media. She is being called "DUDE". She had to have invited her to be like see Kids, dont be this.
Not defending Gabbie, but I called everyone dude. I do not care who you are or what your position is, dude is my go to comfort word. Maybe cuz I grew up with Good Burger "I'm a dude, you're a dude, she's a dude. We're all dudes" and I took that to heart 😂
@@AshChiCupcakand that’s fine dud! but just know the world will judge you for it especially in professional and academic settings. Code switching for better or worse is still expected
Oof her attitude and the way she expressed herself during this interview was something else. She had trouble sticking to answering the questions and continued to ramble on. She couldn’t even bother to say the interviewer’s name, instead referring to her as dude. She just seemed so unprofessional…
I mean I’m not sticking up for her and there are ways she absolutely could have been more professional but to me having trouble sticking to answering the question and rambling on is just adhd. Sure she could have been more polite but she probably didn’t even realise she was being rude imo
I’m wondering if the reason this interview is all over the place is because she is struggling with her adhd pretty bad.. I can hear the shakiness in her voice and can see her getting stuck on the wheels inside her head. That sucks
This reminds me of show The office when Ryan had Micheal Scot come speak at his college. Micheal thought it was because he was a great manager but it was actually to show how the paper business was dying off. Lol😂
unfortunately, gabbie is one of those people who immediately does the opposite of what people tell her to do. she has worse authority issues than the average ADHDer
I personally wish she would say “like” more 🤭 Also “dude” and “totally”. Very classy. And I would much rather hear an interview with Rachel Oates; she’s well-spoken and would be much more professional and have more insightful conversations.
Anytime I see one of the TH-camrs I follow discussing Gabbie Hanna to any capacity. I leave the note about Jessy smile and she’ll never be forgiven for that.
Don't know, something very childish and immature for someone in their 30's or even 20's to call anyone a loser.. "loser" sounds like such a childish word to me.. I am 29 and last time I used that word I was probably around 10 😂 but maybe that's just me.. "loser" gives me teen mean girl vibes..
That really annoyed me, a few years ago she implied she was better than Rachel because she has more followers and by calling her a loser during a professional talk, it’s clear that opinion hasn’t changed. Also saying Rachel isn’t talented and artistic, how is that better than Rachel saying the same about her, except Rachel made intelligent points instead of just name calling. I can understand Gabbie being hurt by Rachel’s critique but her (Gabbie’s) response to it has been cruel and nasty on multiple occasions now.
It's a very childish, insecurity laden word for an adult to use. It's also a very classless way to speak about others. Donald Trump is a perfect example. He is in a steep vortex of extreme debt, has close to 100 criminal charges against him, yet he still uses that term about other people.
Im 19 and I agree as well, calling somebody a loser at an interview at a highly regarded university just makes her lose all credibility and seriousness to me. She isn't taking this opportunity to talk about things that actually matter but instead using it to inflate her ego more.
i feel like when she says "her staff is paid" she means her cleaning lady, that's the only staff i remember her mentioning before. but anyway. imo she sounds high af not just adhd.
Yeah she did seem high AF… and yes I completely agree! I think she preplanned that little “speech” and chose to say “my staff are paid” knowing damn well she just means a cleaning lady or an assistant 😅
ik this is a small dumb detail, but i turn my SoCal accent OFF in formal situations or in situations where my speaking is a main focus 😭 her’s in that situation is making me cringe so bad im so sorry
Genuinely, my skin was crawling that she started after the “thanks for being here” with “Dude, this is so cool!” Instead of “I appreciate you having me!” Or “it’s wonderful to be here!” And then, began this conversation with phrases such as “dude”, “such a vibe”, etc.. I can’t say I could get up and compose myself enough to talk at Oxford, but it’s crazy that she sat down AT OXFORD and spoke like that. I also agree with involving the audience. Basic public speaking etiquette they teach in high school and college.
It's like Gabbie is having her own conversation with anybody other than the person interviewing her. She either isn't paying attention or her comprehension levels are too low to keep up with the interviewer. She sounds out of it; not to mention she is being incredibly rude with some of her replies. The narcism is real with her. I knew this interview would be a hot mess - I wasn't wrong. 🤣😂🤣 Great job, Adam! I loved your commentary and the constant changing of your face while reacting to Gabbie's ineffective comments.
Hi Adam. Correction: This isn't Oxford University - It's the Oxford Union. Separate thing - it's a private membership club separate from the university but it is run by some students. I remember others boycotting it when I was there and the OU student union severed ties with them last year. They often have celebrity guests as well as famous scientists, etc.
Gabbie is less than a year younger than me and instagram was 100% a thing while she and I were in high school… the app was on iPhone exclusively (mainly because it was the only phone that supported apps lol) for maybe 3 years. So instagram was 150% around for her college/pre-vine days.

She acts like interviews are podcasts, places for her to vent or a promo for her new album She doesn't listen, she doesn't answer questions that arent about HER specifically and she also doesn't know the answers but she wont admit it. True! Her scattered thought process, inability to remember what she’s talking about, being way too casual as an anxious response, etc… as a bipolar person I would hate to unmask in front of a lot of the people in this comment section. Also, it’s sad how far I had to scroll to find another person who recognized her symptoms. Most people are judging her actions as though she’s neurotypical.

I am laughing at this imagining Oxford interviewing her for a psychology class, to analyse her and the brain rot created from social media and have to do a whole assignment around it. 😂
Rachel gave her such a fair, respectful, thoughtful criticism. There were so many other reviews that was sooooo critical. She’s back to saying “im so happy, im living this wonderful life that people dream about, i have the best friends, the best love life” even tho shit is falling apart because of shit SHE started.

22:05 this statement is kinda wild imo as, while there are ebbs and flows in viewership of an influencer, theres a lot of people on youtube who have had a long lasting, sustainable online presence. They just didn’t get into huge, crazy scandals like Gabby did. At the beginning her scandals were something she could’ve easily navigated through with little impact on her channel. But then the scandals became more frequent and more unforgivable. Being an influencer isn’t easy and her mental health did play some part of what happened. But it was her shitty actions that caused the mess in the first place and I don’t think she’s learned that from what she’s saying.
Love how she ends her childish rant about Rachel Oates critiquing her book and how none of what she says is worth listening too with 'but that doesn't bother me'. Idk Gabbie I think it bothers you if you're still saying nasty things years later
When she talks it constantly feels like she is trying to gaslight everyone and pretend that she hasn't had multiiple break downs for the world to see. It kind of comes off as a superiority complex, but underneath you know she is just trying to do the tap dance of her life hoping that she doesn't actually have to address reality. I am glad she seems to be doing better these days, but she still has some serious connections to make and things to work on. People like this, I've seen this behavior in a lot of addicts that I have worked with actually, they will cling to things like religion and spirituality which is fine in and of itself, but they take it a step further and sorta of speak as if they have a better understanding on the topic than anyone else. Instead of speaking authentically and addressing what the whole world saw her experience on tiktok, which she doesn't talk about really because she doesn't want to admit 'defeat' (in her eyes), she's had a huge opportunity here to show humility and humbleness--she would receive soooo much more support. But no she chooses to just talk about why she is a better christian than everyone else and how she is better because she took an internet detox. Her thought process is very immature and defensive still.
She is so vague and every time she's specific like is she understands what makes her popular she contradicts herself saying she doesn't know in one breath and talking about how meticulous she is in the next
26:05 when u asked if you could replay this again I screamed NOOOO because why would u put me through that again bestie!!!! MY SKIN WAS CRAWLING THE FIRST TIME
some context as someone who went to oxford for a bit - although oxford is pretty prestigious, this is the oxford STUDENT union so they often will invite any speakers who seem interesting to their student base (aka a bunch of gen z kids LOL). i think oftentimes the prestige makes people - including the guests being invited - forget that students are students, and guests arent exactly invited for academic reasons LOL
Fyi- Oxford Debate Society has a tradition of inviting various people from pop culture to address their students. They have even had Katie Price as a speaker.
personally i would like to hear MORE swearing in university - just because someone swears doesn’t mean they’re not also educated, and there’s a certain classism/racism with language that comes up whenever we talk about what kind of language is considered professional. to me, Gabbie saying “loser” feels more unprofessional than her saying “bitchy”.
Gabbie is rich & incredibly white passing with multiple opportunities for media training. Yr not wrong but that criticism is absolutely not for her defense lmao
Oh 100000% like I tell my son, 'bad' words are only those you use to hurt and degrade others. I never cringed at her actual curse words, but lord the way I nearly turned inside out when she was name-calling like a 12 year old calling RO a 'loser'. 🙄
Stating that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about multiple times towards the beginning of the talk sets her up to be unprofessional and not be taken seriously. The first time she said she didn’t know what she was saying, I had to take a moment, that was the ultimate self sabotage
the way my jaw DROPPED at her bashing Rachel when she's literally so lovely and well spoken edit: this was genuinely so painful to watch. just an absolute train wreck.
In Poland we call EVERY university teacher per Pan/i Profesor (Mr/Mrs Professor) JUST IN CASE they have a title we forgot about. If theyre not a prof they will correct you
8:20 this is the Oxford Union so not directly Oxford university per say. The unions are student run and provide extracurricular activities for the students.
Saying "like" & "um" a million times in front of a professor isnt a good example (like calling the professor "dude" almost every minute). Public speaking takes time in advance to properly prep and she clearly didnt do that. Not surprising after Escape The Night incident
Gabbies reaction to Rachel after SENDING her book out to her.. Rachel is one of the most intelligent, cool, and kind creators I know. She was asked to critique it and she did. Calling her a loser for that is soooo unimagineably low
This is EXACTLY what Jaclyn hill has been trying to do lately. When she’s on a podcast with ppl from her community who know exactly what the history was- she tells one story. When she’s on a pod with people who aren’t from her community she tells a different story every time. Problem is, the same ppl are reviewing & watching the pods. The best thing JH could do, idk why she hasn’t yet, STOPPPP talking about the damn lipsticks for the love of God!! Seems like Gabbie is trying to rewrite history around someone who may not know all the details. She DID need help at a time & just cuz you live in a nice house & your ‘staff’ is paid🤢 doesn’t mean you’re ok internally… she could’ve truly made this a great conversation about peaking on social, leaving & what she’s learned on the other side. Left a message of why it’s not real & not worth your sanity & self esteem.
I think Gabbi thought she was serving Elle Woods, smart but cute and trendy. However the casual language comes across as a crutch. She seems to be insecure that she is in the context of Oxford University, and subconsciously using the casual language to excuse herself incase her answers are not coming off as smart.
Some context: Oxbridge both have unions (I've been at cams for 2 years and still so unclear of what they do other than fight amongst each other, eat fancy dinners and interview people) and they lovvvvvvve a controversial/ super random speakers kinda just for shits and giggles so I would bet this was a drunken idea that actually ended up happening bahhahahah
17:00 As just mere viewer who works 9-5, I have to disagree with the of downplaying what she actually did as a content creator. Gabbie describes it really well. As a person who watched Gabbie during her heights until her downfall, I can see how she worked really hard. Regardless whether people like that content or not, she did gave a lot of thought into her content. She came from a time when most creators just gotta pump out variety of content without leaning into their niche. From doing sketch, challenges, vlogs, story time, writing, singing, merch, you name it she has done it. Watching her vlogs sometimes feel like watching a hamster running on a wheel. So just because you think all it takes is to scream into a mic, doesn't mean she took that approach to get to where she was.

I struggle with social cues a lot and I really don't understand the problem with this, she's focusing on the person who's interviewing her, wouldn't it be rude to try and give attention to other people when she's supposed to be answering those questions to the lady in front of her? My brain hurts from trying to understand this 😭
@@username-re9yk yeah this is literally how all of these interviews at the union go. It's a conversation, not a pantomime. Questions from the audience follow the conversation. Of all things to criticize this is a weird one.
@@username-re9yk I feel like she could've at least looked at them a few more times and said things that gave them a chance to feel acknowledged since she was brought to a college to be interviewed in front of them and it wasn't that big of a crowd so really she could've just done that. I feel like if you're gonna act the way she did at least give the people some sort of acknowledgment so maybe you seem a bit less rude and disrespectful
@@ikaurikanah. This was definitely one on one and I’ve sat at school interviews like this with writers and whatnot, and it depends. For this one, her not acknowledging them makes sense
“Dude Oxford is kwl just like the vibe and the energy…” *perfect poet of our generation*
Yeah, that was so embarrassing. I really think she was just there for the psychology students to observe and take notes. 👀
This is the President of Oxford Union, Gabbie is Speaking to. Fyi. This person interviews Political Leaders, Activists, and Artist of every media. She is being called "DUDE". She had to have invited her to be like see Kids, dont be this.
honestly this is so bizarre it HAS to be a secret display of how social media fame rots your brain.
@@lacey892 it's actually really common for all sorts of people to speak at Oxford union, including very controversial people like Gabbie
Not defending Gabbie, but I called everyone dude. I do not care who you are or what your position is, dude is my go to comfort word. Maybe cuz I grew up with Good Burger "I'm a dude, you're a dude, she's a dude. We're all dudes" and I took that to heart 😂
I thought the continuous 'Dude' was a nervous reaction but all the slang and swearing really changed my view
I don’t think it was adhd I think it was alcohol…..
I’m wondering if the reason this interview is all over the place is because she is struggling with her adhd pretty bad.. I can hear the shakiness in her voice and can see her getting stuck on the wheels inside her head. That sucks
@@Bobojoefoeit could be a combo of both and not having much material to talk about and not knowing how to get her point across
I live in her hometown. Don’t know her personally, happily. Her thoughts on politics are just that…thoughts. This is kinda sad. Hopefully she can cope
This reminds me of show The office when Ryan had Micheal Scot come speak at his college. Micheal thought it was because he was a great manager but it was actually to show how the paper business was dying off. Lol😂
omg YESSS!!
YES
Thats so funny 😂😭
Yes!! The worst is : at least, Micheal Scott was right.. Gabby can't even pretend to that. 😂
😆 🤣
Damn. It’s sad that no one in her life has advised her against repeating that Rachel Oates Instagram rant since the last time she did it.
You think she wouldve listened?..
unfortunately, gabbie is one of those people who immediately does the opposite of what people tell her to do. she has worse authority issues than the average ADHDer
oh I'm SURE they have 😂
Adam's face every time I switch back to this tab 👁👄👁
God his voice is grating and his presenting is awful what a whining blabbermouth.
She wasn’t even actually answering the questions she would just go straight to a venting rant
I personally wish she would say “like” more 🤭
Also “dude” and “totally”. Very classy.
And I would much rather hear an interview with Rachel Oates; she’s well-spoken and would be much more professional and have more insightful conversations.
5:15 this literally happened as I was reading your comment lol
@@avery444babyI know! It’s awful lol she almost sounds like a stereotypical valley girl from the 90’s. No offense to valley girls lol

AND Rachel actually writes and recites good poetry🤪
And “um” ! Very cute very professional very MINDFUL….. ???????

I will never forgive Gabbie for what she did to Jessie smiles.
I hate how people forget. That phone call lives in my brain I’d never forgive someone who treated me that way and she’s NEVER apologized!
I was about to comment the same thing verbatim
I totally forgot about that....
Anytime I see one of the TH-camrs I follow discussing Gabbie Hanna to any capacity. I leave the note about Jessy smile and she’ll never be forgiven for that.
100% agree
Don't know, something very childish and immature for someone in their 30's or even 20's to call anyone a loser.. "loser" sounds like such a childish word to me.. I am 29 and last time I used that word I was probably around 10 😂 but maybe that's just me.. "loser" gives me teen mean girl vibes..
I 100% agree! I'm 25 and I can't remember the last time I used it!
100% agree. SUPER mean girl vibes!! Who even says “loser” anymore?!? Let alone AT OXFORD?!?? So unprofessional on so many levels
Lmao and she’s not even from here, she’s from Pennsylvania
Genuinely, my skin was crawling that she started after the “thanks for being here” with “Dude, this is so cool!” Instead of “I appreciate you having me!” Or “it’s wonderful to be here!” And then, began this conversation with phrases such as “dude”, “such a vibe”, etc.. I can’t say I could get up and compose myself enough to talk at Oxford, but it’s crazy that she sat down AT OXFORD and spoke like that. I also agree with involving the audience. Basic public speaking etiquette they teach in high school and college.
What’s crazy is that Gabbie went to college. Did she only party in college?
Gabbie has no business speaking anywhere, let alone a university?? 💀
Idk. I think she makes a good cautionary tale.
Right? Feels like they could have just given her a mirror in an empty room and the "conversation" would have gone the exact same way lol
Hi Adam. Correction: This isn't Oxford University - It's the Oxford Union. Separate thing - it's a private membership club separate from the university but it is run by some students. I remember others boycotting it when I was there and the OU student union severed ties with them last year. They often have celebrity guests as well as famous scientists, etc.
Sorry, Gabbie. I just zoned out for the last 10 minutes of your rambling. I have ADHD! NOT MY FAULT 😂

Gabbie is less than a year younger than me and instagram was 100% a thing while she and I were in high school… the app was on iPhone exclusively (mainly because it was the only phone that supported apps lol) for maybe 3 years.
So instagram was 150% around for her college/pre-vine days.
also tinder came later
This is what makes me think she has some kind of cptsd or trauma. I don't think she remembers things properly.
@ZabatheFrog That's a wild assumption bro

Gabbie needs to take a public speaking class! I hate how she’s at a college like Oxford and is saying “dude” and “cool”. Her ego has always bothered me I can not stand hearing her talk, just always negative or hyping herself up.
They invited her ! They knew what they were getting…it’s what they wanted. I think it’s ridiculous that she needs to talk a certain way. And no I’m not a fan but I also know Gabbie isn’t that bad
I said it once and ill say it again :
Gabbie doesn't understand the difference between a podcast episode, an interview and student interview. Not in the way she acts like podcasts are interviews, no, that would be good. She acts like interviews are podcasts, places for her to vent or a promo for her new album
She doesn't listen, she doesn't answer questions that arent about HER specifically and she also doesn't know the answers but she wont admit it.
But honestly can you imagine being a student and hearing youll be interviewing gabbie hanna? Id be RUNNIN
I would be THERE for the trainwreck
Interveiwer: asks deep profound question.
Gabby: *internal panics of the meaning of the question* babbles shit to no one..."what are we ralking about?"

This is how she sounds: "dude literally like it was totally like so unreal straight up like it was crazy dude like it was literally like a thing dude" . This is Oxford...
This prob a psychology class and the students have to write an analysis about it lol
I was thinking the same thing
37:34 LMAO not the interviewer insinuating that Gabbie is lying
“I do send it to people to get their opinion” didn’t she send her second book to Rachel Oates as a recommendation?

Bipolar disorder is very hard to treat, I've seen it first hand on loved ones... The problem is - and has always been - very clear.
She lied about having bipolar, she lied about being autistic, she’s done nothing but lie her entire career. That wasn’t a manic episode she had 2 years ago, it was a narcissistic rage reaction that her life was crumbling around her.
@@Taylormayde14how do you know she’s faking bipolar disorder and autism?

She’s back to saying “im so happy, im living this wonderful life that people dream about, i have the best friends, the best love life” even tho shit is falling apart because of shit SHE started.

gabbie hannah speaking at oxford is GIVING like... remember in school when they would always have that random assembly for the random public speaker who comes on to tell us about how he used to be a terrible addict until he turned his life around..... and we're all like... 15 and have no idea why we're listening to this crackhead... but still just kind'a glad we get to skip math class for this i guess.... its giving THAT.

A crackhead would have more interesting things to say than her
THATS SO SPECIFIC. I swear weve all had the same secondary school experience
Nah, those motivational speakers were MOTIVATIONAL this is giving lowkey nothing
47:50 that last minute gag was insaneeee 😭 ate her up

Her thought process is very immature and defensive still.

some context as someone who went to oxford for a bit - although oxford is pretty prestigious, this is the oxford STUDENT union so they often will invite any speakers who seem interesting to their student base (aka a bunch of gen z kids LOL). i think oftentimes the prestige makes people - including the guests being invited - forget that students are students, and guests arent exactly invited for academic reasons LOL

9:56 this is like watching a conversation. Like its awkward and the crowd is just there😂😂
I think Gabbi thought she was serving Elle Woods, smart but cute and trendy. However the casual language comes across as a crutch. She seems to be insecure that she is in the context of Oxford University, and subconsciously using the casual language to excuse herself incase her answers are not coming off as smart.
Love this reading
Some context: Oxbridge both have unions (I've been at cams for 2 years and still so unclear of what they do other than fight amongst each other, eat fancy dinners and interview people) and they lovvvvvvve a controversial/ super random speakers kinda just for shits and giggles so I would bet this was a drunken idea that actually ended up happening bahhahahah
How did she manage to make Oxford university look like a tacky podcast filmed in an LA influencers kitchen with a greenscreen
So just because you think all it takes is to scream into a mic, doesn't mean she took that approach to get to where she was.
watching this over with your commentary made me realize she contradicts herself quite a few times, like she always does 😂
This is the FINEST examples of delusions of grandeur. Gabbie is in a room FULL of people infinitely smarter and more stable than her and she STILL thinks she's the greatest person in the room.
