I usually just use an upward looking section cut and then flip it in Layout so it's reflected. That way if I have lights, ducts, sprinkers etc in the model they're shown on the RCP without any additional work. How would you display those things using this method?
This video is not a compelling reason to move away from CAD software for professionals working on real projects. This should be a tutorial using a complex 3D model (say a residence, say it's two storey with a basement) with decorative lighting, ceiling fans, exposed beams, rafters, dormers, trusses, ductwork, etc. and set up using mirrored section cuts. Then, demonstrate applying hatch masks to represent materials and adding notes, dimensions, etc.
Hello Erin. I really like your videos and I am sorry to bother you with this, but I have a problem regarding my sketchup. My computer just updated to Sequoia and now my sketchup doesn't open. I already called my sketchup supplier that told me to reverse the update. I went to a technician that even with the help of apple support couldn't format my machine. So now I find myself in a situation where I can't work! I looked for some kind of help on sketchup website, but found nowhere I can communicate directly with someone. I would like to know if there are beta versions testing this right now? I am desperate... I am definitely not a very high-tech person, so in some forums I went to and they refer to some code lines, but I don't know what to do with it. I just need to work on my architecture projects and I don't really want to buy a new computer because of this situation! I am paying for sketchup, this shouldn't be happening. What can I do??? Please, help me somehow!
Have you tried opening a file that you saved recently from SketchUp also hit f3 on the keyboard it may just be open on another screen . Maybe a uninstall and reinstalling SketchUp will probably fix it if all else fails . I have sequoia on my MacBook and SketchUp is working ,
@@nick2128 On the welcome window it just says "we are experiencing technical difficulties". I had the sketchup commercial that sold me the licence on the phone, he says that I just have to wait until this is resolved by the sketchup team or then reverse my system update :( I took my computer to a technician that even with the apple support on the phone wasn't able to reverse from Sequoia to Sonoma. And now I had to go get another computer so I could work on Sketchup. Shouldn't this have been worked in advance between sketchup and apple to avoid this situation? Me, as a client, should not be blocked from working like this. It is so surreal. This is 2024! I've worked with Sketchup and Apple for years and this is the first time it happened to me...

Would you consider doing another video about applying hatch patterns. Patterns that are vector lines that print clearly. Thanks
Interesting solution !

@@aarondietzen2995 Thanks for your answer. I already looking into those... Hope an update comes out soon. This is so unbelievable!
Do you get an error message or is it just not opening?
