Great video Aaron. A quick tip for speeding up at 3:30 is to press option (Mac) before drawing the rectangle. This draws from the centre point which can be positioned using inference from the centres of the outer geometry. Also if you type a dimension in wrong, simply retype it.
A few weeks off 66yoa, so I started draughting as a job at 16 on a A0 board with pencil and ink. Consequently I always start drawing everything in 2D before all the push/pull malarkey starts. I went to a 2 day AutoCad Achitectural course at Leeds College of Building, and ended up working for them for 6 months using AutoCad Release 12, ancient. I switched to SketchUp around 2000 to model alterations to my new-old house, a couple of small cottages joined together. Now in my retirement I'm venturing into 3D modelling for a couple of side earners, got to learn scaling up stl's and others from 1/35 scale to 1/6 to start with, shouldn't be to tough.😅
Personal preference, I've used both. Minor differences between the two. Couple features I liked on one were done in a different way on the other. I do wish Windows would let you open multiple models in one environment instead of separate instances. But I'm mainly a PC guy, so I live with it.

Which computer is better for SketchUp? Is it iMac or Windows?
The free version is browser-based.
@@dirfaceWait! There are free, browser based computers out there??
Best answer is that SketchUp supports the os that you prefer!
