      Instead of headphones, can I use my studio monitors with the Subpac? It seems I can just hook the line in cable to one of my headphone jacks on my interface and use the monitors as well.

    what do you recommend the best volume setting for the headphone aux on the interface when using the subpac?
    Thanks!

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Eric, it really depends on what you plan to use the subpac for. If you plan to use the subpac for mixing audio, I recommend having the setting anywhere from 25 - 50%. If you plan to enjoy audio with the subpac, I would say anywhere from 25 - 75%. You don't want to push the subpac too much though because it will distory. I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    So if you turn up the volume to your speakers do you need to turn it up to the subpac as well to keep it balanced?

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Zendro, I just saw your email, but I'll go ahead and respond to your question here :) I understand where you are coming from especially about the low frequencies in the Subpac being a replacement for 8" studio monitors. I was the same way before I bought the Subpac ;) lol
      It is possible to use the Subpac's low frequency reach to replace large monitors especially just for DJing or beatmaking/producing or just simply listening to music.
      The hard part is when it comes to mixing...if your not careful with how much you turn up the intensity on the subpac in relation to how loud you have your monitors or headphones, it could possibly cause you to make bad mixing decision where you over or under mix the low end.
      It took me awhile to find the sweetspot with the subpac for mixing songs. You will probably have to do the same and get used to it.
      As an alternative to not bother your neighbors, hands down Subpac is a great solution to enjoy low frequencies without bothering your neighbors. I still have no problem with my neighbors ;)
      I hoped this helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks for the video! Really well done!.. I have a universal audio Apollo .. do I plug it into the headphone jack at the front of my interface ?

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ryan, I appreciate your comment🙏 To answer your question, you a pretty much right. The cable from the headphone jack in front of your Apollo interface will plug into the Subpac to send audio signal to it. Be careful with turning up your headphone volume knob to high on your audio interface. I hoped that helped bro :)

    Bro i`m going to buy a subpac, I`m a music producer but my main question is.. is there any difference (in sound, feeling not in comfort.) between S2 vs m2x? does the vibration on the s2 feel fuller than de m2x? or does the m2x feels weaker in any way? I can use the backpack to make the s2 wereable... or is de m2x better sounding ... Thank you very much!!

    • @joseramonmv
      @joseramonmv 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I need it for mixing and mastering

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jos, that's dope you're getting a subpac :) You're going to have a lot of fun. For your question, there are a few things that are a little different between the S2 and m2x. There isn't a big difference between the sound. The S2 feels slightly different than the m2x because it is strapped to a seat so a lot of the bass frequencies are hitting your lower back area which gives a different sensation. Since you have to wear the m2x, the bass frequencies hit higher in your back. How someone interprets the difference is going to depend on each person and is subjective. For me, it wasn't a major difference.
      What's cool about the s2 like you mentioned is the versatility, you can use it seated or you can get the backpack and turn into a wearable s2 like the m2x for convenience. I hoped this helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    • @joseramonmv
      @joseramonmv 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are amazing!! Just one last question, every S2 is the same? Or is it like there are s2 newer and better models and s2 old models, is just that here in Mexico a shop is selling the s2 and the backpack.. and I don't want an s2 that may be an older model or has less technology or improvements than the new m2x.. i don't want to get an older model... Thank you Joehly!!

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anytime bro! No worries about the S2 having less technology or improvements compared to the M2X. They both pretty much have the same technology so the bass response will be very similar to the M2X. The M2X is just a little smaller in size and doesn't have the versatility to be used on a chair like the S2. I hoped that helped bro! Definitely enjoy your S2 if you get it. You're going to love not only producing and mixing with it but listening to all your favorite songs to see and feel the bass that you might have missed before ;)

  • @naldosrecords
    @naldosrecords 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You think its possible to use the S2 portably like the M2 is by simply strapping it to to your own bagpack? Or will it not be snug enough to feel vibrations across it..also maybe the power cable could be an issue? Have u tried this?

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi naldo, I think it's possible to use the S2 like the M2 especially with some creativity. It would probably more convenient to get the M2 for portability. More than feeing the frequencies, the power cable would be an issue. Of course, with creativity you could come up with something that works for you. I think it would be inconvenient over time. I haven't tried it. I keep it strictly in the studio. I hope this helped bro.

  • @mauimedellin

    hey man I've had my subpac for over a year now but recently I noticed there's a lot of static noise in my headphones. I'm running the exact same setup as you demonstrated here with the audio interface, but for some reason starting today there's a bunch of white noise. If i remove the subpac and take the headphones straight to the interface it removes this problem. Then I also tried several aux cords and the problem is still there, so I know its the subpac itself. Do you have any solutions for this? Or is there a way so connect the subpac where it doesnt go through the interface, but I can hear it at the same time as everything connected to the interface?

  • @VisualAudioV
    @VisualAudioV 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    When plugging in your headphones does it kill the low frequencies in your headphones?

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Joker, Subpac doesn't kill the low frequencies in your headphones. The only thing is that the bass radiating out of the subpac might make you forget about focusing on bass frequencies especially in the sub region because thats how responsive the subpac is. For bass frequencies that are a bit higher like punchy kick (100 Hz) , then you will definitely hear them in your headphones. I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    does the floor pick up vibrations when you use this at a reasonable level for mixing? i’m wondering if i’d annoy the people beneath me running this vs the backpack where it would be more isolated to my body

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lee, that's a good question. If you keep the level on the S2 at a reasonable level, there won't be floor vibrations. Your chair will absorb all the vibration. If you turn it up all the way then for sure there will be lol. The backpack(M2) version could help with being more isolated on my body. I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you need help with anything :)

    Hey I have a question! My interface doesn't have a standard jack cable input so I use two XLR (left & right) for my in/outputs. How would I set up the subpac with my interface (RME Babyface) Can anyone help me? Thanks

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Andrew, I had the same issue with my subpac and audio interface at first. Plug the 1/4" cable from the subpac into the headphone output (1/4") on your RME Babyface Interface which should be on the right side of your interface.
      That should do the trick. Adjust the volume slowly on your interface and subpac to feel the bass to your liking. I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    • @Joehly
      @Joehly  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Austin, it's definitely possible to do it that way. I actually do that sometime with my iLoud Micro Monitors, but I would just do that for either making music or just listening to music. I wouldn't recommend mixing that way, but you could experiment that way. You never know lol
      I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

      Hey Rickachu, I had the same issue with my subpac and audio interface at first 😓
      Luckily with trial and error all you have to do is plug the 1/4" cable from the subpac into the headphone output (1/4") on your Interface which could be on the front or the side or the back depending on what interface you are using.
      That should get it done for you. Adjust the volume slowly on your interface and subpac to feel the bass to your liking. I hoped that helped bro. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

      Hey man, thanks for the video it had a lot of good information in it! I think the reason people are disliking it though is because of the length of the video. I think it could have been more impactful if it was concise and to the point, as I noticed quite a bit of redundancy throughout the vid. I'm not sure what your creative process is for product reviews and tutorials, but it might be helpful next time to write up an outline of what you want to say either before or after recording, so you can be aware of how much time each section is taking up and cut the fluff out accordingly when it comes time to edit.
      Hope this helps! I still gave it a like despite the length ;)
