Can’t tell you how many times I’ve referenced this video. He reminds me of a stellar man that I learned Construction from. He even uses a lot of the same terminology. Thank you for the simple, straightforward explanation and well thought out design.
I ripped 3/4 wide about halfway deep on a 2x4 and placed that on the edge flush with my shelf. Then slipped a 6 inch 3/4 board into the "gap" that I made and it held everything in. I just pulled it out to get whatever I wanted. Great video. I painted my walls white to brighten it up some.
I did like the modularity of some of the "extravagant" ones. I have built a couple job trailers and never had luck making random sized cubbies and having them work to my liking down the road. I always wished they were easy to resize like the Paulk system. More work out of the gate but seems worthy of the effort when I look back at what we did. They were real similar to this build
Thanks for the video, I'm just about to shelve my van here in Scotland. Will definitely be using some of your ideas. Loved the great view of the Rockies too, beautiful Zion :)
Nice video! I'm a handyman and I purchased a Pace trailer and I can tell you that you're spot on about their quality. It's bad. My next trailer will not be a Pace. Nice job on the shelves and walls. I didn't cover my walls with ply like you did but I had a tough time making sure my shelves were anchored properly with that junk wall board they use. I was worried about adding too much weight when I did it but after seeing how yours came out I may do it that way on my next one. Job well done! thanks for sharing
I only wish you had given us a better shot of your view, OH MY it looks fantastic toward the mountains. Oh yea, the shelves look great. When we customized the shelving too much it becomes unusable as new tools or new demands on the trailer don't fit. Looks great!
Tidy job mate. Fitted a few vans out over the years and I got a new/used Ford Transit ready for kitting out. I'm a Carpenter & Joiner in North Wales. :)
Thanks for the video - I came to TH-cam looking for ideas on how to build the shelves in my trailer and I was not disappointed! Some great ideas - thanks for sharing!
Great job! When you were talking about something to keep the tools from falling out the first thing that came to my mind was cargo nets secured by hooks.
This is just was i was looking to build. Simple, effective, straight to the point. Really nice design, layout and execution. Thanks for the inspiration! Would be interested to Lomé how it’s working thus far. Any tweaks or modifications since posting this video?
Not really. I'm still using it as designed. As long as you keep things tidy before hitting the road I've never really had too many issues with things falling off the shelves. But, some type of betting or shelf covers would be helpful. Thanks for the nice response
Excellent Video! Nice set up and great layout. I was kinda feeling the same way as you. Some trailer setups I've seen, require you to be a custom cabinet maker. Thanks for sharing.
pretty awesome man. i definately am going to get an enclosed trailer and kit it out like that once i have the space to park it at home. need to move to a bigger place. my toyota hiace van works well but is hopeless for the family. must he great to be able to unhitch all your gear and drive of in a clean non work vehicle.
Nice clean job. Well laid out man. I'm looking and laying one out for hunting & also work such as yourself and this gives me some great ideas. Did you undercoat from the bottom? Another post brought this up as a good thing to do to prevent wood from rotting out. Cheers
Nicely done, simple and effective.. What was your final solution to holding the tools in their cribs? and was there anything you would change now that you've worked with the trailer for the last year?
My boss got that exact trailer. Caution to buyers, the outside screws on all the body panels started working their way out after about a year. And the side door is very droopy.
I purchased the hook system years ago at a truck box / van box truck retailer that sells utility boxes. Unfortunately they quit making those hooks. You might have to have a fab shop make up some custom hooks
You are the first person to talk about the flimsy side walls of the trailer. And how to fix that problem. Thank you!

I don’t normally comment on TH-cam videos, but this is so practical. I can tell you’re one hell of a tradesman.
Instablaster...
Reminds me of the DirtyJobs guy!
I have the exact same trailer, going to make these shelves the same way. Thanks for the idea! Good work
Good job well thought out. Also taking the time to datto the shelves Into the partitions adds a lot of strength.
your clip was by far one of the good ones, i got some good ideals for my build out on a 6x10 thanks much
Very nice workmanship! Very helpful, great ideas!
Nice job. Workmanlike and straightforward methods.

Thanks for the nice compliment. (a year ago...sorry about that)

Tks for yours ideas. Beautifull trainer and very functional
Nice job :) I'll double my side walls then make router cuts instead of using 2x4 to lay shelf onto.... your idea works thanks!
Tidy job mate. Fitted a few vans out over the years and I got a new/used Ford Transit ready for kitting out. I'm a Carpenter & Joiner in North Wales. :)

Excellent Video! Nice set up and great layout. I was kinda feeling the same way as you. Some trailer setups I've seen, require you to be a custom cabinet maker. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comments. Hope that helps.
I'd say the wood working is better quality than the trailer...And I love the trailer.
Great video. lots more good ideas.

I like the simplicity

Great project, thanks for posting the video.
Very nice build. Do you have enough space in the middle to haul materials? Also space for a large 20 gal air compressor, whats your recommendations?

Thank you for the video, nice job!
did you connect your support borards to the trailer supports with self tapping screws, if so, what size?
Outstanding work. Thanks for the ideas.
Nicely done, simple and effective.. What was your final solution to holding the tools in their cribs? and was there anything you would change now that you've worked with the trailer for the last year?
Hi..how did you fasten the 1/2 plywood to the walls of the trailer??
My boss got that exact trailer.
Caution to buyers, the outside screws on all the body panels started working their way out after about a year. And the side door is very droopy.
Did you mount toobafours in it?!
Could you elaborate o how to mounted side walls onto cargo trailer existing paneling? Thanks
How much weight do you think you're added
What size is your trailer? By the way Great job!
How did you attach the 1/2in ply to the frame of the trailer?
Thanks for the video, gave me some good ideas!
Great job, did you make any plans before you started to build it?
Richard, this was simply a design build process. But it turned out very nice.
Work trailer shelving
nice work. thanks
Build starts 2:30
Great!
What size is your trailer.. Great build btw
Trailer is a 6x10
Thanks buddy
where did you buy the hook system mounted to the front of your trailer
I purchased the hook system years ago at a truck box / van box truck retailer that sells utility boxes. Unfortunately they quit making those hooks. You might have to have a fab shop make up some custom hooks
Thanks for the follow up. I was able to find the rack and the "J" hooks at my local Northern Tool
