Finally! Someone that actually knows how to use the Bass Boost. I'm so tired of everyone on youtube advising not to use the Bass Boost because they don't know how to properly use it...repeating the same myth "using Bass Boost will cause clipping"...yeah, sure.
Gotta make a confession here: I've been anti Kenwood for years. And years. When I traded off my old Charger (and the Pioneer system that I had in it) for my 2020 Scat Pack I elected to go with the Kenwood Excelon P-XR600-6DSP powering Focal Integration 6x9's and Scar tweeters in the dash. To say that I am impressed is an understatement. While the DSP interface (app) leaves something to be desired there is no arguing that the amp sounds amazing. This is the best sounding system that I've ever installed! Kudos to Kenwood for stepping up their game! I don't think the JVC merger has hurt them in any way despite what the critics say.
I went from an excelon head unit to jvc and it’s every bit as good with easier controls. They can even run off the same harness. I changed it for the swc wires in case I decide to hook it up
@@gregblau8082 A buddy went with a JVC recently for the very same reason--the interface was just easier. Plus, same features as the equivalent Kenwood Excelon for a bill less.
My kenwood sounded much better than the pioneer it replaced but I needed to break out the manual any time I wanted to find a menu, change presets, etc. I actually just bought a sub and amp from this guy and he threw in another jvc hu and a pair of 6.5s so I’ll probably see how they sound
I always hear never use bass boost but I seen you use it atleast twice now or atleast brought it up twice since i been watching this channel. Should I try it on my amp or better off not using it?
I wish the gain control was removable and bass eq was password lockable... then I wouldn't have customers getting pissed when I tell them that over gaining their sub or speakers is considered physical damage so it kills the warranty
What would be a scenario that you waould "want" to use bass boost on amp? I understand you shouldn't use it because it causes distortion, if you dont adjust gain as well
You would "want" to use bass boost if you like more low-end impact in your music. You might "need" to use bass boost if you have low input signal to your amps.

Meaning that any time they are on demo, they are either the only brand or have lower quality brands to compare to. Or the fabled "Oh you got Bose, my dad told me about those. they're the best in the business"
I thought Bose was the best. In fact, my vehicle was in the garage for 3 weeks getting fixed. The dealership gave me a 2020 Acadia off the lot, it had everything including 6 spkr Bose. I herd my music in so much better form than my crappy stereo in my equinox. So I’m kinda shock here in this video that Bose wasn’t the best? Interesting

I've always been a fan of the Excelon products, especially the headunits. It's just the way they sound, that draws me to them.

Been using Excelon head units for years and they never disappoint. Love the XR900-5 amp too, tiny powerhouse.

Use a wax torque seal to mark the knobs and hold them in place.
What would be a bigger sub you recommend for this set up??
