If season 2 is anything like season 1 it's gonna be great :) I love the deep dives into research papers and other autism resources. It helps to connect the dots between what we are and did and do and why that is so. Even if maybe not finding solutions to perceived problems, just knowing why can be assuring enough to no longer worry about it as much, or it can help to avoid getting in a similar situation, or help to explain yourself to others. Sharing experiences on discord is also a tremendous help in this respect. I tend to learn a lot about myself by reading other people's experiences. It is also a safe place to ask or talk and think out loud about yourself with often instant insightful, helpful, assuring or just uplifting replies. And after a tough time it is a good place to recharge spoons, even as a passive fly on the wall. The colabs are also nice. While your are responding to chat it does feel a bit distant, especially with so many people in there nowadays, can't keep up with everything and no time to respond or interact much. It's nice to get a fresh direct dynamic with other people comfortable to open up in public, and get into the nitty gritty of autistic things or special interests, or just have fun. More please!
I only just found out a couple months ago that I had ASD and I was sent this channel to learn more about it. I live in an area where people are kinda genocidal about ASD, so this channel has been an excellent resource for me and helping me to better understand myself in lieu of IRL assistance. TYVM for everything and hoping for another excellent year! :)
What a great video to discover on waking up this morning... your channel progress is phenomenal and I feel it is such a privilege to support you and be part of the amazing community of autistcats...🧡🧡🧡🧡
I really appreciate the energy of your videos. 'Compassionately rational' is one way I would put it. It makes me feel seen in a way, because I'm not interested in either medicalized, infantilizing, or influencer-ish content, as an autistic. Does that make sense? Sometimes I watch those and feel like there's no place for me in the community but when I watch videos like yours, I know I belong. Thanks :)
Mike, you have been an inspiration to me. You gave me the awareness to get assessed, and now I know I have Audhd at the age of 33. You have given me the courage to start my own website and put my ideas out there about my special interests. I have the knowledge to understand my own perspective better. Keep up the amazing work that continues to support our community. Truly makes the world a better place.
ANNE! 🥳 This video reminded be to fill in the forms on my ASD checklist, which finally got to my PsychUK portal, only 10 months after I initially submitted a letter of RTO to my doctors. Seems there's a waitlist to go onto a waitlist 🙃 Also happy one year anniversary! You've been so informative 🥰
All the amazing comments you received says it all. Youve helped build an incredible, caring, talented, inspiring community. The most priceless, and treasured gift of life. Love surround you always Mike, Tea Fairy, all the Fury and Feathery Crew and the Auti community. With Love and Gratitude I Thank you.
So glad you've had a successful year, Mike! Your response video to the negative comments was very good, and I particularly enjoyed your collab with Quinn (I haven't seen the other collabs yet); the both of you sitting on a bench looking straight ahead while talking instead of at each other is exactly how my best friend and I hang out. I appreciate your advocacy. I hope Season 2 will be just as good! p.s. Time to raid the Autism Speaks treasury
Thank you - and yes to anyone who knows the signs, they’re there - discreet stims, uncomfortable glances, and a sense of security in the best company. Okay, when’s the raid? And what good could we do for the community with $40M dollars a year?
I found you pretty early and your videos were amazing! Thanks a lot for your content, it's one of my favourite autism channels together with autistomatic!
That Aurora Livestream and subsequently seeing the Aurora myself that night are a profound core memory for me as well. I feel so privileged to have gotten in close to the ground floor on your rise to TH-cam stardom.
@@tjzambonischwartz It 100% wouldn’t have happened without you, TJ. I was on my way to bed. I would have woken up the next day to see all the photos on the national news.
Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary 🎉 You have become a great voice for our cause and created an awesome community. I'm ready and already excited for season 2! ❤
Congratulations on creating something wonderful that helps and involves lots of people! I'm amazed it's only one year! 😮 Your positivity is really meaningful. Thanks for overcoming the barriers and mean people. Hilarious that the cats started a livestream and for 7 hours 😂😂 The Aurora tho!!
The first video of yours I remember watching was the Dr K video. I was already kinda took him with a grain of salt after his interview with Dr. Mike (though it is a great interview, very interesting behaviors) so to hear the stuff he was saying, wasnt surprising, but hearing you break what he said down and refute it is what captivated me because advocacy is very dear to me, and I had just recently been diagnosed and searching for a non-white autistic youtuber experience .... you helped me by showing me it's not "wrong " to stand up to bs stereotypes of what autism is, which helped me accept my diagnosis better.
Appreciate all your work and dedication so much, Mike. It's made a huge impact in my life. Very much looking forward to what you have for us in season 2! Cheers!
Thank you, Jason! I appreciate your continued support. I remember you were there, right at the start! Thank you for helping to make the first year a blast - here’s to season two!
Thank you for including me in your journey Mike! You deserve every single subscriber... And hey, the cats taking over our live stream was definitely one for the books!
@@Autistic_AFI am glad I am too. Our lives have changed , the kittens are currently dive bombing us and chirping a lot 😂, I think this is the maddest they have been yet it's hilarious to watch.... And they will be going walkies tomorrow and wear them out a bit! Parkour kitty and Ninja kitty tonight😂.... Where has that year gone.... Can't wait to see what next year brings. Thank you for the lovely community feels, and for giving us all a friendly, cosy place to chat and learn and have fun and share the things that are special to us all 😊
Congrats! ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜 I really enjoyed and appreciate the tour of the highlights. This was a great idea. I was there for some of this stuff, but not all so I get to enjoy even more now. Also hey, I appreciate the time stamps for within this video. What if in the description box you also put the links and titles of each video mentioned? I'm intrigued, and want to watch the full ones. :)
I've not been here very long. My first video was the AITA video about plushies (so around 3 months) but it has helped me feel less alone. This is a beautiful community and not only does it help me but the way you speak and present facts has helped me explain my symptoms and struggles to my family in a way they can understand. So I just wanted to say thank you
1:38- Phoo, I don’t think I got the military-grade autism. 😒 I got some kind of janky off-brand ADHD-PI/twice-exceptional female southpaw autism. 🤪 I’m too dysfunctional to be functional and too functional to be dysfunctional, it’s just a mess! 😵💫
@@misspat7555 that's the thing about "military grade equipment" is that it's janky as hell. Sounds intimidating to anybody who doesn't have experience with military-grade equipment.
I got a lovely little laugh out of those foul comments from the one who said "you just walk away" as if walking away from something you don't want to cope with and can't change is a bad thing 😆🤦the pettiness and determination of some people in a dispute is hilarious to me - like, the hill people choose to die on because just feeling like they're right about something is life or death. So silly to waste your life energy on a trivial dispute
