Now Sarah pissed me off. If you save her then she should've got to live. Also teaching her to shoot didn't matter at all. If you're going to have determinant characters then make your choices matter telltale!
I think they've learned their lesson here, you can tell because Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands have been a lot longer and determinant characters have a much more lasting impact. Because of this I think season 3 wont be as rushed hopefully.
***** What I mean is that in season 2, if you saved someone, they barely say any more lines of dialogue and die 30 minutes later. In season one you save Doug or Carley you get some extra development that feels "meaningful" and last a lot longer. Their relationships don't change either, in Tales from the Borderlands, say you self destruct the loader, he becomes more of a dick to you.
InfernoKun - TWD | TWAU | TFTBL I have to agree with each of your points on determinant characters. And I felt Nick and Sarah should've been developed a bit further. Like, after you save Nick he thanks you and maybe that would benefit you later on in the Season. Because in Episode 4, he could've showed up and not dead, with Luke and Sarah and probably do something noble. Maybe that would've showed promise for Sarah and she could be grateful for his assistance. So, if he were to die there Sarah would realize that people were willing to die for her safety and that could've been a huge factor when it came to protecting Rebecca on the balcony. That would have been where she takes a gun and begins shooting walkers. As for Rebecca and Alvin, I felt as though Alvin's death should have affected her more and that she should've lasted until at least the halfway point of Episode 5. That way, the choice we made on whether staying or leaving the next day would shine through. By staying on that balcony longer, she would've had more time to recover and AJ would be more attached to his mother. They cast that whole thing aside where they could have instead made a whole group discussion like at the power plant where she would tell everyone how much she misses Alvin and how she honestly felt during all that was going on. That would've been major character development. Finally, as for Jane and Kenny, since they gave us five different endings and they are both determinant, I think that with whatever route was chosen, the entirety of Season Three could go different ways. For Jane, they would be with those survivors or not at Howe's and maybe start developing something there and maybe there is a chance that Arvo, Mike and maybe Bonnie show up there. Same goes for the Alone ending where Clem is raising AJ and she soon encounters a new group and maybe that trio or duo is there. Even with Kenny, you could either be in Wellington and they end up being welcomed inside(with chances of meeting Lily or Christa again) or maybe even Kenny after many months of being there without him. Those apply to if you leave Wellington with him and you survive on your own with the man throughout the season alongside taking care of AJ with chances of reuniting with Lily or Christa. If Lily was met then there could be some lingering hatred between Kenny and her or she could brush it off and start anew with him. If it were Christa then they would have a good bit to talk about and reminisce on their last few memories of Lee and Omid. If it were Arvo, Mike and Bonnie, then he'd have...a few words to say to Arvo to say the least. Anyways! Enough of my theories. I thank you and anyone who took time out of their day to read all of that! Bye! *poofs away*
What annoyed me most was how they 'disposed' of Luke. I admit that it gives a perfect example of how anybody can die at any moment, and adds to the reality of the zombie apocalypse. Especially how it was his birthday the day before and the group had that bonding moment with him, talking about what life was like before it all happened. But I just felt his death was rushed is all I'm trying to say. But that's just one of the people I thought Telltale rushed to get out of the game.
AbstractWolf I believe Jane was meant to be capped off at the frozen lake. From what I've heard it was because of Lexi Porter shipping Cluke Telltale changed it because of that reason.
Well whoever ships Cluke is sick in the head. And I'm really glad Jane didn't get killed off at that point. I think I preferred the final choice being between choosing either Kenny or Jane
I had the idea of this kind of determinant scenarios. Clementine will only get to talk to either two characters like the Kenny Luke decision and no one dies yet but whoever she talks to, she will give them advice on how to survive/tips against walkers. This causes them to be determinant later on when one gets ambushed by walkers and dies. I have another determinant scenario where this badass tough character, has a unique rifle which is different from regular ones and is his main weapon. He might ask Clementine her opinion in which she tells him (Be Nicer to People)(Have Mercy)(Or Think about your own survival). Clementine would later have a chance to stock up on ammo but sees spare bullets that look different and can decide to take the spare ammo or leave it. During the ambush, one of the determinant characters is going to get attacked, he will either get bit or fight back depending on who you chose to talk to. The badass character will see him from above and will shoot the walker if told (Be nicer to people), kill the determinant character if told (Have Mercy) or let him get eaten if told (Think about your own survival) This is where the tough character can die, if he shoots the other guy, he will have no bullets if Clementine took the spare bullets and gets attacked by a walker. If he has the one bullet, he lives. If Clementine left the bullets, he will live regardless of your actions.
To me, all determinate deathes made little sense besides sarah. I think the choice was to see if players would let a good hearted yet annoying/stupid character die when there was a chance to let them live. Maybe if we get a time skip for season 3, those little choices over both seasons define who clem is (if we play as someone else). Just my thoughts.
Saving Sarah sort of matters because Jane couldn't save her sister but it's sort of the same thing with Clem and Sarah,so it is showing Jane that Clem is strong and you can save the person you know even if it's hard .For character emotional development probally.
They kind of wasted the cabin group. They had so much potential although they decided to bring Kenny back. I mean, I love Kenny but I would have preferred it if he didn't return. It would have made so much more room for the new characters and we could have learnt so much more about them. At the moment, although I love Clementine to bits I would be okay with a new story line. It would be refreshing. I don't think our choice at the end of season 2 is going to matter in the end, I have a feeling they will time skip so the story ultimately ends up on the same point,m else they would be making three separate games. The Kenny vs. Jane never really made any sense. They're going to have to be smart about season 3. Else the series will go down hill faster than anything I've ever seen before. I have faith in Telltale, but the mas amount of projects they are now working on and the demand, I'll be surprised if they successfully pull it off.
I agree with you on the consequence subject. Season 2 didn't really do a good job of tailoring the story to the individual. All in all, I had 3 different save files for the game and it didn't take long for me to realize that no matter what options I chose, the story wasn't particularly different either way. Everyone that I saved, just died eventually anyway. Even the initial connections I made with people were lost over time... I really hope Telltale steps up their game for Season 3.
I do think they could've did more with the characters but I do feel like it was done well regardless. playing through till the end of the game you should've realized this game was about the development of clementine who was pretty much a blank slate through season 1 and the beginning half of season 2. the deaths were more emotional because they drew us close to the characters for a split second and then instantly killed some of them off, like Rebecca's death was totally out of nowhere, some where predictable a lot was for drama. I didn't have a problem with nicks, i think the disappointment was purposeful. I feel like this game was built more around helplessness and one of the overall themes, something Carver, Jane and Kenny tells Clem in their own way is that you can't save everybody and that that world makes good ppl do bad things again, the story was really about who Clem was and the other characters were more so tools to help map that out. I think Luke should've survived, the choice between Kenny and "the group" was something that you could see happening way before it got their and killing jenny actually hurt lol I'm pretty sure most ppl had Kennys back throught the game and for those who chose to kill him im pretty sure felt the same. what I was really disappointed about was the use of the 400 days characters, that game built these characters personalities up so that we actually knew them and how they think, carvers camp contradicted a lot of their personalities and they were under used completely, they all should've had major impacts on the story not just quick cameos before their deaths.
I think the only purpose people like Sarah and Ben had in the game was to help make YOUR Clementine or shape her if you will. For example, letting Ben drop from the bell tower in Season 1 had an effect on Clementine and Vernon mostly, yet people like Kenny didn't give two shits about him dying and wanted it to happen one way or another. When you speak to Clem after Kenny says Lee "stepped up and did what he had to", you can assure her that Ben was being brave and wanted to sacrifice himself for the sake of the group's safety. OR you can say that Ben was a danger to the group and had to go. I think the determinant characters are just Telltale's way of saying "Your Clementine can either turn into THIS type of person, or THAT type of person". So Sarah was basically a way of showing if Clementine still saw the world in a positive light and was still willing to act like people her age, or you can show her maturing and doing the right thing, knowing that the world is a lot different to as it was before.
The Doug/Carley choice is also bad when you think about it There're barely in ep 2 cus they stay at the motor inn with ben and are only there for the beginning and end of the episode. And they die 30 minutes in ep 3 by lilly But those determint characters are better than s2
I agree with you on everything, they threw away the characters like trash, they should have worked harder but that's just my opinion. Let's hope that TT can produce some good stuff in Season 3 . Love your videos! :)
I think it would be cool to see her as a villain. It wouldn't make since for her to be sane, so they should introduce a villain and she could be part of his Militia or something.
Counteris16 Nick needs a comeback because he really liked Clementine i'd love to see take him care of her like Lee did in S1 he could teach her to use a rifle maybe even form a relationship?
Huh.. Telltales just being lazy, season 1 you got carly and doug, who do a lot from episode 1 (when you save them) to episode 3, ben also does a lot if you save him, molly and lilly didn't do much though but season 2 I can't stand its called A CHOICE BASED GAME, why play a choice based game if the choices don't matter? Pete, save him he's in episode 2 5 mins, save alvin? Says nothing on the way the carvers, says bye to rebbeca and gets put in a room, hank is not gonna matter cause we will never see him again, save nick? (By far the best in season 2 just saying) he says a few things in episode 3 with you, kenny and luke but then he's dead on a fence and sarahs choice?... That just pissed me off, why can't we have choices like mass effect(spoilers) kainden and ash, there are 3 times where they can die! But if you save them they get more screentime than every walking dead character combined in season 2, honestly I will try season 3 but if they keep being lazy I'm done with telltale (sorry for my rant)
I understand inferno kun wants more time spend with determined characters or characters in general I agree they should do that but telltale games aren't ment for those type of structure each episode is about an hour and half long focused on story not player satisfaction. If the walking dead was like Star Wars The Old Republic free roam I can understand but it will get players side tracked about what to do or where to go to follow up with story
I would like to base my choices of the walking dead good. Not good as in" not safe" so I wouldn't be like nice to strangers until I know them and all. I would make my choices focused on the plan and I'd be willing to leave a group member behind even if I don't want to. And I always want to do the right thing in my choices and never kill a man for his actions.Because t
Determinant characters just need a little more screentime. Honestly, the only bad determained character is Nick. I understand why they killed of Sarah in the same episode, many really wanted her gone, but when it all came to it could you leave her to be eaten?
also dont forget, and hope that telltale UPDATE their engine. TWD will be a late 2015/ early 2016 release. they seriously need to get behind visual-wise... i will 100% buy the walking dead, but i will be 100% disappointed if they show us the same wonky animations, its not 2010 anymore. we deserve better. story-wise i hoope they take us seriously as players who play, i am a 20yr old girl, i dont want to feel stupid when i make decisions, like kenny saying ''I Got Real Lucky'' or sarah's who died twice 10 minutes later. i really they take us seriously and dont pull out the ''Real Lucky'' card again, it was cute once and i was happy to see kenny, but if that happen again then thats an issue and a flaw to me, anyway, looking forward to the improvements, and i hope the visuals are worthy of a 2016 title. no wonky animations, i wont give excuses this time lol.
InfernoKun - TWD | TWAU | TFTBL I didnt notice this until i played GOT hahaha... i was like wtf telltale.. :p oh well, i would be real sad if they use the same engine for their upcoming titles.
***** are you serious? you cant be... are you a troll? maybe you only play telltale thats why... because if your standards of ''GOOD'' graphic is what telltale have been showcasing than you really need to play other games mate. i cant believe that you said that. telltale engine is fine... LOL. very funny
***** its ok if you dont need the 'good' graphics, but remember, there is more to a game than just a story, if the graphics are bad or wonky is the word, you cant enjoy the story. thats my case here, also, Telltale has come ALONG way since sam&max and TWD S1... they are successful now. so they can afford to give 'US' fans a better experience. idk about you, but for me, i have high standards for graphics, especially in telltale case, because i cant see any major improvements in the animations since TWD S1. yeah it became better slightly with TFTBL, and WORSE for GOT... but in 2016 and now 2015, i cant give them a pass on their bad graphics..... *I Play (Indie) games that have better graphics than telltale current games. and telltale is way more successful than them...* so why give them a pass? because they produce a good story? i can list you now many Indie Games that have even a better story and graphics than telltale. so yeah, *I Respect your opinion but i Highly Disapprove.*
Eric Austin That's the beauty of it. You're alone, but you may meet a new character. Some people theorize that Jane is still alive and survive the stabbing, but I'm not buying that.
And the choices are sooo soo so bad like the stealing meds from arvo or not and teaching sarah how to defend herself annndddd giving the dying man water or not like smh 😤
Originally, when Telltale confirmed there was to be a Season 3, they predicted 2015 as being the year when it was happening. But now I'm not too sure. All the new projects Telltale have been working on just puts me on edge. Although the speed that they're getting through Game of Thrones could say something. Job J Stauffer of Telltale Games said this at a panel a few weeks back: "The Walking Dead Season 3 is not necessarily something you can expect to see super, super, super soon. But I think you can perhaps, maybe, expect to see The Walking Dead again sooner, if that makes sense. Does that make sense?" So obviously we're most likely gonna be getting DLC before Season 3, so I guess we should look out for that first before they release Season 3? But what we DO know is that Season 3 is definitely being worked on.
I don't see why this guy is pissed telltale did a good job with season 2 what I didn't like was Sarah because not only was she older than Clementine Carlos didn't teach her much bout survival so because of that she died the most annoying character in season 2
Telltale is soooo so so lazy with their episodes. Someone from telltale said no matter what ending you had at the end of season 2 will be the same as any of ther ending and how season 3 will start.
Now Sarah pissed me off. If you save her then she should've got to live. Also teaching her to shoot didn't matter at all. If you're going to have determinant characters then make your choices matter telltale!

Agree. Kenny took away the character development of the cabin group members.

In my opinion the determinant characters in The Walking Dead Season 2 were lazily written in needed more thought put into them
@kyle price I never said I was pissed at Telltale xD I enjoyed season 2 quite a lot
You forgot Sarita
I agree with you on everything, they threw away the characters like trash, they should have worked harder but that's just my opinion. Let's hope that TT can produce some good stuff in Season 3 . Love your videos! :)
I want to see Lilly come back, there wasn't a way to kill her so she is alive.
I think it would be cool to see her as a villain. It wouldn't make since for her to be sane, so they should introduce a villain and she could be part of his Militia or something.
She might join a group of bad people, but she would never harm Clementine
xGhostGaming yeah she will probably be a Bonnie type character.
Counteris16 Nick needs a comeback because he really liked Clementine i'd love to see take him care of her like Lee did in S1 he could teach her to use a rifle maybe even form a relationship?
How the hell is Nick meant to come back...
If you try to save Luke yourself in ep 5 you don't actually see him die
Huh.. I agree , consequences would be perfect
I still don't know why the hell they killed Omid, Luke, Nick & Sarah?
Nicks audio files for episode 3 only comes to about 1 minute in total. So yeah his character was rather wasted.
Carver and Larry are alive
Good vid inferno
i hope nate comes back from 400 days man that would be cool and the same with Russell
SCREW THE TURNING DEAD YOUR AWESOME INFERNOKUN
wait so if u leave bonnie to die and kill mike (in the earlier version) arvo would be alone
The next discussion you make should be about who you think will return in season 3
Ben Pfingstler Already did :P
th-cam.com/video/-YO_pe-NkGY/w-d-xo.html
Oh my bad
Well Jane didn't try very hard to save Sarah
Season 2 was absolutely shit compared to 1. I really hope telltale steps up their game for S3
there's an unused anamashon where jane stragles kenny
Link please?
What will you do if season 3 episode 1 sucked so bad
Molly's not determinant though
I would like to base my choices of the walking dead good. Not good as in" not safe" so I wouldn't be like nice to strangers until I know them and all. there is another way.
Mike is can die to right?
i think in the walking dead we should meet someone and around episode 3-4 he commits suicide it would bring more tense and sadness to it
That's happened before... In the very first episode...
but we didnt know her well
I think we could do without that.
Determinant characters just need a little more screentime.
Honestly, the only bad determained character is Nick.
I understand why they killed of Sarah in the same episode, many really wanted her gone, but when it all came to it could you leave her to be eaten?
***** Heh, I agree with you there. :p
I'd honestly leave her to be eaten. I showed no compassion, child or not -_- I'm the devil.
Survival of the fittest. And I care about Clem and Kenny but that's it ^
I care about kind hearted people not retards
no she was pure not kind-hearted.
also dont forget, and hope that telltale UPDATE their engine.
True xD They reuse animations like crazy
InfernoKun - TWD | TWAU | TFTBL I didnt notice this until i played GOT hahaha... i was like wtf telltale.. :p oh well, i would be real sad if they use the same engine for their upcoming titles.
***** are you serious? you cant be... are you a troll? maybe you only play telltale thats why... because if your standards of ''GOOD'' graphic is what telltale have been showcasing than you really need to play other games mate. i cant believe that you said that. telltale engine is fine... LOL. very funny
Hopefully telltale will use that lionsgate investment to better their engine
They should have you play as either Kenny or Jane in the new season ( whoever you saved ) that would cause the problem.
But what about if you killed them both?
Eric Austin That's the beauty of it. You're alone, but you may meet a new character. Some people theorize that Jane is still alive and survive the stabbing, but I'm not buying that.
Cooper Heywood Jane is dead for sure.
Eric Austin I hope man. I hated her cause she was selfish.
Cooper Heywood she was
Help luke and break ice help kenny
And the choices are sooo soo so bad like the stealing meds from arvo or not and teaching sarah how to defend herself annndddd giving the dying man water or not like smh 😤
when will season 3 come out?
When are they gonna make season 3?
Originally, when Telltale confirmed there was to be a Season 3, they predicted 2015 as being the year when it was happening. But now I'm not too sure. All the new projects Telltale have been working on just puts me on edge. Although the speed that they're getting through Game of Thrones could say something.
Job J Stauffer of Telltale Games said this at a panel a few weeks back:
"The Walking Dead Season 3 is not necessarily something you can expect to see super, super, super soon. But I think you can perhaps, maybe, expect to see The Walking Dead again sooner, if that makes sense. Does that make sense?"
So obviously we're most likely gonna be getting DLC before Season 3, so I guess we should look out for that first before they release Season 3?
But what we DO know is that Season 3 is definitely being worked on.
I don't see why this guy is pissed telltale did a good job with season 2 what I didn't like was Sarah because not only was she older than Clementine Carlos didn't teach her much bout survival so because of that she died the most annoying character in season 2
You cab actually shoot Mike
GRANDTHEFTAUTOMINECRAFTANDMORE NEWS No you can't.
You could originally, but Telltale decided to cut that out.
Telltale is soooo so so lazy with their episodes. Someone from telltale said no matter what ending you had at the end of season 2 will be the same as any of ther ending and how season 3 will start.
Aron Dracula yea but they could ATLEAST TRY something different for once. and they always take forever because they work on so many damn games at once
