Fantastic instruction. I have been mulling over whether to buy a D7000 or a D5200 and was worried that the D7000 may be too advanced for me. However, this in depth video, so fabulously well presented, has made everything very straight forward. So, I will be purchasing the D7000!! Good job Jared!!

Jared, got my D7000 a week ago. Been struggling with the manual ever since. You rule. Episode 2 really helped me. I knew most of episode 1. But the second episode saved me a ton of time. For the most part, I agree with your setting assumptions but you gave me a systematic check list with a pause button to go through the whole set of primary decisions. Really excellent bro! Thank you!

dude you kill it, would've taken me countless hours going through a manual and getting frustrated numerous amount of times. You explained all the necessary features needed on the d7000 in a short 30 minute video. Cheers bud

hey Jared, thank you for your superb videos very useful for beginners like me, I have a D90 and tried to set my camera as you did in this video and in the one about the 3100 setting, but this blocked my autofocus so I can just shoot in manual, unless I reinitialize the setting of the camera and put them back to factory setting. Is this a problem from my camera? because the the release button is completely blocked and don('t allow me to take any picture.

Jared, you talked about how the focus confirmation beep helps you when shooting. You mentioned you have problems with your eyesight - is this because you don't always wear your glasses or contacts while shooting (i.e. your vision is long or short) or for some other reason? Really informative video, thanks.

Hey, I read somewhere that you might need to use the fine tuning settings in some cases / some lenses. For example - if you are using a nikon prime like the 35 mm f1.8 & it is not sharp with appropriate settings I would send it back if it was still in the guarantee / warranty period....if its a cheap tamron lens I might mess with the fine tune settings....what lens u using? thinking of buying one but stuff like this sounds bad....

Jared, I'd reconsider recommending the "overflow" mode for dual slot usage. I always use either backup mode or RAW on 1 / JPEG on 2 because there is always the chance one memory card fails. If you're using "overflow" you'd lose your images in this case. If you use RAW+JPEG with backup mode and one card fails, you won't lose your photos. Like you've said before, memory is cheap. Grab a couple 16GB or 32GB cards and never worry again!
