    Great test of the Sunny Sky motor. Especially interesting since 6s sounds a bit unusual for a 700 size. Great flight on 6s and awesome skills 💯

      Thank you! Yes 6S is definitely unusual on a 700 size machine. But the piuma was specifically designed to be a helicopter that could run success as it is super lite!

    A Wonderful Video as always Jeff!
    Beautiful Heli and 2 Fantastic Flights! I'm a little bit happy that you reccomend 12S on the Piuma. As I said, I was so impressed with your Videos and Flights with the GOOSKY Legend S2 Heli that I went out and bought one yesterday! After Binding my Satellite to my Goblin 380 KSE, I tested it, mounted it and screwed the Canopy back on only to find out later (when checking every nook & cranny of the Box) that it DOES come with the Bluetooth Module. Canopy Off, install Module, Canopy On and now I'm going to put in Your Settings and take it for some Flights!
    As far as the Piuma goes... are you trying to break me, my friend? 😂😂
    Thanks for sharing and let's get back to the 420!!

      You will love the S2! Such an incredible little machine. So versatile yet such a great flying helicopter. It can be as tame as you want or as wild as you want! Best all around micro this far! The piuma is a incredible Heli! Really likening it on 12s! I have the regular RAW 700 as well I need to build! Don’t worry! The 420 part 2 will be out Monday! Lol

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you very much Jeff, I look forward to flying it this weekend. I've heard of little Heli's being great in the air, or being "Floaty." lol After watching You and a couple of other Excellent Heli Pilots "in my opinion," I honestly think that this "little Heli" looking at The Parts like the all metal Head, upper & lower aluminum blocks, carbon fiber frame and the angle of the tail blade makes it look like & apparently fly like a much larger Heli. Have a great weekend Jeff & go fly that Plane with your little Angel! Looking forward to Monday & episode 2 of your "SAB Goblin RAW 420 Build."

    Change your pinion for the 6s packs . 19t pully should do the trick for 1200 @ 60% to 1900rpm @ 85%

      Thank you, yeah if I was going to keep it on 6s I would definitely change the pulley but it’s already back on 12s lol was just testing that motor. I like the piuma best on 12s with the Xnova 4035 600kv and 12s. I’m going to stick this Sunnysky motor in my RAW 580 and see how it does.

  • @RubenRC94
    @RubenRC94 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The peak amps really surprise me. With my raw 580 on 7s with 2550rpm when doing pitch pumps. Or very high collective high speed passes and stops I can easily pull 185A +
    Staying around 2250 rpm I'm around 150 peak with 6s a little lower with 7s

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 xnova 4025 lightning 1120kv and stick 22t pully. I think it's just the peaks. I cant see a average on my dx9. But if I look at the logs on my brain 2 mostly I'm around 60-90.
      I'm not too worried about it I have the HW 150 and the esc, motor and pack come down barely warm with 6s. With 7s the motor gets hotter but well within the safe range.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that’s definitely gonna be peak and fridge. I’m sure your normal amperage is probably right around 100. That X nova motor does fantastic! I run the same one in my 580!

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 it defenitly does, amazing motor. If you have a spare 7s (or 4 and 3s) laying around you should give it a try. Just drop it in and go. It's crazy at 2550 rpm really screams

  • @seanoc3533
    @seanoc3533 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Another great video Jeff. Why not pulley down? I’m running my 6s Piuma on an 18t pulley and no heat issues at 1950 rpm. I don’t have telemetry but 4 min flights and my packs are at 3.8v/c

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Main reason was to put the motor through its paces and test what it would handle/produce. I could definitely of poly down and it would’ve been a lot happier but I wanted to see how the motor performed at around 200° and 150 amps. I’m not keeping it 6s or I would pulley down.

    Nice heli. So I have a question for you I've been watching all your set up and alot of others and I can't seem to get it totally polished almost but can't seem to get over the hump. I've been in the hobbies all my life. Used to fly way back when, but got into ⅕ scale 2 stroke. So I haven't flown in a couple years way before all these fbl units. So I've got a 700 goblin original the green one has a frsky x8s and a beastx plus. Then I have a outrage 50 nitro with rex .56 well 2 of them with spektrum 7800 and microbeast fbl and one has the ar7100r with mcbt. Also two other otrge 50 electric same setup and blade 400 2@ 350 and lastly the 330s rtf version. My radii is tx16s edge tx. So my question is could you send me a nitro file for around 5 to 700 size heli and then one for electric. I need to study a temp that works so I can see what the he'll I'm doing wrong. Thanks appreciate your time I can give you my busness email if you want to just let me know

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! I greatly appreciate it, so yes a lot has changed over the years lol and it has changed quickly! Edge TX/open TX is definitely a very complicated radio to learn. It is not for everyone lol once you learn it it is pretty simple of course like anything. But, with FPL helicopters 90% of your set up is in the FBL unit and the radios are not programmed like they used to be with the Fly bar helis. So for example on my radio master I have one actual file that I use for all of my helicopters. I’ll just change things like throttle percentage or pitch curve but other than that the helicopter FBL is where your main majority set up is done. So I could definitely send you a Radio file for FBL helis but unfortunately I have not done a fly barred helicopter set up yet as I don’t have a fly bar Heli any more lol

      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! Yes I fly my OMP M1 and M2 on my TX16S as well as my spektrum IX12. I jump around with radios depending on the video I’m doing or settings or whatever. Sometimes I want to try something different with one radio or the other radio. So I’m never on one specific radio all of the time with the micros. On all my big helicopters I only fly my IX12 but my M1/M2 and 180 and such I fly on both. If you give me your email I can send you my model file but it will be with a DSMX satellite

    Trying to determine whether to get the piuma or raw 580 for 6s, I already have the 570, what do you think?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depend on your flying style, the Piuma is basically a stretched 580. They use parts from the 580 and nitro 700 to make the Piuma. A 700 size model is hard on 6s if you want to do hard 3D.but for big air flying and sport flying the Piuma on 6s is great. I personally prefer 12s because the amperage is significantly lower when really getting on it. I own and fly both regularly and really love both models. The RAW 580 is my favorite!

    Why not just get a motor that pulls less amps

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว

      6s will always be power hungry compared to 12s, especially on a 700 size machine. If you wanna go 6s (no idea why when 12s runs cooler and less amps draw) you need a 150a ESC. And if you go to a lower KV then you won’t have the power or head speed. I normally run 600kv and 12s in this heli and never see above 125 amps and a bunch more power.

      @28EduardoSierra ปีที่แล้ว

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 I've never experimented with 6s much on 700 I've always just ran 120 amp 12s avian and a 500 kv max burst at 80amps

      Usually on my 700s I run a 200 amp ESC and 12s as for example my RAW 700 with a Xnova 525kv at 2500 RPM with 14 degrees of pitch will peak over 200a under hard flying but normal flying I cruise around 100.
