Hibs also donated money to them at the start and agreed to open the new Celtic Park with a friendly match. Then, infamously, the more commercially minded people involved at Celtic offered cash inducements to Hibs best players leading to half a dozen of them moving west. Hibs were crippled and nearly destroyed, and Celtic prospered. All water under the bridge now of course but people should remember that without HFC there would be no CFC
