    Thanks very much for sharing this. Your video was most helpful as I planned my first inn-to-inn hike on the Great Glen Way. I finished the hike a few weeks ago and really appreciated your insights. You helped me plan for trail conditions and anything I might encounter or need along the way. Well done.

    Great video. This walk is really worth doing one day. Andrew, you mentioned the canal is very busy with 1300 vessels a year; that is an average of 4 per day. Is it still considered a pretty intense traffic as far as this canal is concerned?

    Great video, but I noticed the subtitles were a long way out of sync with the visuals which made it very hard for my hard of hearing friend to follow. It was fine for the first few minutes then went wrong. Planning to do the walk next month, so thanks for the video to wet my appetite!

    But going South always feels like walking downhill.
    You didn’t mention but I have to assume from your pack that there are options for breaks and meals in communities along the way. Did you have to plan for something to eat in longer sections that might have not had facilities?
    Well done. Sorry about the rain.

    That is intereasting video to watch Iam planning to walk both the West Highland Way and Great Glen Way August-September 2023. Wondering. Is it a possible get across Loch Ness and arrive from other side the loch to Inverness? I would like to visit village of Dores on my way and stay in there a day or two.

    Enjoyed watching this Andrew-- thanks! My travels on the Camino last year whet my appetite for long distance walks, and this looks lovely.
    It looks like you're wearing a day pack throughout. Did you have gear / extra clothes transported between accommodations, and/or wash clothes on the way?
    Thanks much

    Please learn the pronunciations.

    • @walksaroundbritain
      @walksaroundbritain  5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      We tried very hard Alistair to get the pronunciations right, even to the extent of having two local experts on the end of the telephone whilst the voice over was being recorded. If there are places which aren't as you know them, perhaps it could be like Adwick in South Yorkshire; talk to some people and they would say "ad-wick"; talk to others and they say "add-ick".
      We did place a lot of emphasis on it as we know how important it is.

      @@walksaroundbritain I know the problems, my natural speak is Doric, which could be described as regional. I now live in Inverness where half the population does not make the chhhh sound. I'm a bit sad we are losing dialects. That:s all, I wasn't trying to be personal.
