Nice job. I did almost the same thing for removing the old bushings, except I used a electric saw to cut the bushing wall instead of a hand saw. I used a bench vice to press the new bushings into the torque rods.
Great idea using the car as a press I used to press bushes into starters motors If I can give you a tip in future. Anytime your pressing any Bush in no matter what it's made of use something flat and solid on top of the Bush it will stop the Bush from twisting and possibly getting distorted great video though buddy
I see that these PU bushings don't have the metal sleeve on them, Nice! They cost a lot more, but these you can mount easily with an improvised press / vise.. The normal rubber ones with metal sleeves scare me of, probably need a day in the freezer first andi don't have a professional press.
Yeah, someone did say they aren't as strong without that extra metal ring, but I'm not worried, the only thing I am worried about is them failing inspection due to them being a "modification" we'll find out next year!
They do last longer, the arm is less strong because it doesn't have the extra metal shell but the bushes are definitely alot stronger. I hear the torque rod bushes wear fast on these so PU helps
If I was a meanie, which I'm not...But if I was, "BW" = Brummie Wanker...? 😉 Exactly how romantic did your lady think it was of you to put her initials on that old Volvo then? Was it a "rolling her eyes and shaking her head" reaction, or was it more like, "You get an extra schnitzel for dinner liebling" reaction?? 👍
@@Involvod You sir are a braver man then me, I think I'd rather change the handbrake cable on a spider infested Volvo then mess with eine Deutsche Frau... 😉
The poor man’s press method. Absolutely brilliant! 😃👌🏻
Car press. Nobody expected. Everybody needed!
Necessity is the mother of invention 😂
Using the car as a press... Bloody awesome! Hope you don't have to rip it all out, be a bloody shame wouldn't it 😕
Thanks mate

Thanks man, I would love such luxuries 😃

I never considered that mate, but the underside will look narsty soon I'm going to fluid film all of it
Not to make you jealous, but I just pushed in that bush by thumb/palm today and some fairy liquid.
Someone's been eating their greens 🤣 That's impressive, even my Volvo struggled at first
Using the car as a tool to help fix it's self , clever :D
It was one car fixing the other 😄

Ha awesome life hack
haha, brilliant! ;D

😄 thanks
Did you try those blue tablets in the washer bottle ?
I totally forgot, I just put it on my to-do list for tomorrow!
I just tried it, in a bottle, didn't do anything! I'll upload the footage but there's not much to see 😃 So who knows what they are
Very large E's 🤔
Are the new ones stronger, do they last longer than the regular ones.

Odd thought from a non-mechanic: Use a well lubed piston ring compressor sleeve to start the bushing into the hole.

Well I was honest and told her what a BBW is which provoked some eye rolling but she let me off with it 🤣

@@akersjon278 But I did emphasise the Volvo is the BBW 🤣
@@Involvod Well duh! You are still here to talk about it, so of course you did... 😄
