Kai Parker He’s still so young, he’s a talented singer, he has a good breathing technique, and he has been singing live at big concerts for no more than 4 years, so, for me there are just two possibilities for why he plays this song a tone lower or most of Balcony tunes half step lower:
1.- Because those tunes are very exigent in vocals, so, for Van is probably more easy and more comfortable singing certain tunes a full/half step lower, and so, he doesn’t “kills” his voice and he can be at his top for all the show, and even all the tour.
2.- He just likes more how those tunes sound in a lower key, a lot of bands do this, probably because they kinda get tired of playing almost the same for years, and changing the key could make the song feel more refreshing for them.
Personally, I think that No. 1 is actually the correct answer of why they play this song and some others in lower keys.
