Technically yes but they would've gone to school with each other half a century ago at this point. It's pretty unlikely they would've still kept in touch. I only talk to like 5 people from high school after graduating 8 years ago. Bet that number drops even more with celebrities.

Wait, Jimmy Wong's uncle is THE Corey Yuen?! The guy is a legend of Hong Kong action cinema, has done tons of cool movies as a director/ fight choreographer, incl. the first 2 X-Men, Lethal Weapon 4, Kiss of the Dragon, The Transporter, No Retreat No Surrender and what not. You guys need to get him on your show, like seriously.
This 100%. Have Clint pull that phone back out of his fanny pack and see if he can convince Jimmy to get his uncle to come on the show the next time he's in the LA area. Even if he needs a translator/subtitles, that extra effort is worth it since he has S tier knowledge and probably knows about a bunch of amazing clips from Hong Kong cinema we've never seen before.
Honestly it kind of adds to the slightly surreal vibe that Matrix had, it’s a similar flavor to the bullet time and slo-mo stuff. Neo is someone entering the system and breaking the rules, I kind of like the meta-idea there.
@@fillman86 yeahhhh... Jackie and mainline China, and Hong Kong... it is kind of a messy situation... Also, now you prompted me to look into the whole Hong Kong protests last summer. When I was in film school both our cinematography and stunt courses stressed the 180 degree rule so often and they did what was said here, if you HAVE to cross the line, insert a transitional scene that explains the jump and would even express (in cinematography) storyboarding them out, whether it was a fight scene or even dialogue scene...
Amy Johnson is by far my favorite guest you bring along. She gives so much explanation and brings a level of understanding that not a lot of other guests match. Great vid

I know it’s probably because of a stockpile of footage they have with Clint, but I love the idea of Clint constantly coming back and they’re like “Clint, didn’t you want to leave to do stuff for your own channel?” And Clint is like “just because I’m not part of the crew, doesn’t mean I’m not apart of the crew!”
@@droyd666 Iirc, they mentioned that they'd seen the comments of people wanting them to react to it and that it was coming. That was a while ago though..
Corey Yuen was the action choreographer for X-Men (2000). I think he's the only one out of his fellow Peking Opera classmates (Jackie, Sammo, Biao, etc...) to have actually directed American movies. The first was No Retreat, No Surrender (1986) which had Jean-Claude Van Damme's 2nd credited role. His last directed film remains to be DOA: Dead or Alive (2006). But his best works as a filmmaker and/or choreographer are his numerous collaborations w/ Jet Li.
The One is still my favorite American Jet Li movie. Cheesy as hell, dumbest sci-fi logic, but the action was so beautifully shot I didn't fucking care.
I feel like Jackie Chan is the kind of cool laid back guy who would actually agree to come be on a youtube show if he heard about it and liked the idea.

6:53 Aw, that's so sweet of her to say. After this, he continues practising too, and even though he's still a bit stiff by the John Wick films you can see so much improvement over the rigid upper body he's got in the Matrix.
in the choreography of the matrix scene, you can see how much neo is enjoying himself with the I LEARNT KARATE THIS IS SO COOL! and is doing extra kicks and flips
When they mentioned practice through repetition it reminded me of a quote that my teacher told me. They said, “ Don’t stop practicing until you get it right. Keep going until you can’t get it wrong”
This reminds me of band teacher. 'Practice makes permanent not perfect.' If u do something wrong over and over you'll get stuck doing it wrong. Just. Idk. Memories.
The Mask of Zorro has some awesome sword fighting scenes. Including one where Zorro fights two guys with a sword in each hand. In fact Bruce Campbell does a similar scene in Army of Darkness. The difference? Bruce Campbell didn’t have a stuntman stand in for him. He performed the fight himself.
Here's an OLDIE for you to look at: Thoroughly Modern Millie No, seriously! It's got some driving, flying and even climbing stunts and effects. I'd love to get your take on how they did these way back then!
One film to react to is Zrodzeni Do Szabli. Among sword fighters, it has the most historically accurate sword fighting scenes in the history of cinema and was actually made by a fencing organization.
Re-watching this, Amy is awesome, and she does Silat? Amazing. And Clint is a sweetheart, and with Nico, if this was without covid, if would have felt like a hug. I think I've watched Amy's parking garage scene like 10 times.
I would love to see a breakdown of the office fight scene in season 3 of Daredevil. Recently rewatched season 3 and remembered how killer the fights are in that season.
8:40 It also helps that you don't have two characters in dark clothes and masks fighting in the rain at night. You can very clearly tell who is Morpheus and who is Neo.
If I remember correctly the Spiderman tray stunt @13:55 actually had fishlines that were yanked so that everything would settle in place (which is why the bowl wobbles before settling directly on top of the milk carton). Still took multiple tries, but it wasn't literally just dropping food onto a tray and praying.
If Jackie’s on the show, you gotta have more than just 2 corridor react members on with him. This needs to be at least a full Clint, Niko, Wren, and Sam situation
If you guys already have a way to get in contact with Corey Yeun through Jimmy Wong, then I wonder if Corey Yeun can get in contact with Jackie as he did Dragons Forever with him, Sammo and Yuen. Just a thought as all them guys are stunt legends💭
For the next stuntmen react, you guys need to do scenes from Princesse Bride, more specifically the part when they roll down the giant hill to escape from prince Humperdinck.
if the Jackie Chan ever visits you guys, you better upload a full 6hours unedited video. I want the full experience.

There's too many degrees of separation honestly, from some YT guys to a stuntman whose uncle went to the same school? That's weak but hey, it'll never happen if no one asks.
Technically yes but they would've gone to school with each other half a century ago at this point. It's pretty unlikely they would've still kept in touch. I only talk to like 5 people from high school after graduating 8 years ago. Bet that number drops even more with celebrities.
@@RoseEyed except they are both world renowned and work with the same actors in the same industry. That's a chasm of difference.

You guys need to get him on your show, like seriously.
it was really weird how they talked about him like "some guy´s uncle that directed a movie or something" lol
Yes, please! Ask him to come. Corey Yuen is one of the legendary directors in HK.
Dead or Alive (2006) is also under Corey Yuen's belt. He is also the action choreographer for Jet Li's The One (2001)
@12:50 The timing of Amy saying "The timing of that too " and the timing of Wren peeping in the background .... it's just Timeception !!
Man! How did you even see that!?
WTf dude how did you catch that
Haha, just watching this and saw him pop out too.
Yeah bro I also saw him while watching the vid before seeing your comment
i feel like the editor probably left that in on purpose for the memes
Love how Wren pops out at 12:50 when discussing Jackie Chan.
I like how Wren just pops up in the background occasionally.
wild Wren appeared
Gotta love wren 😂
He's like "can I come out now? Have they left?" like those kids when you have people at the house.
I can’t unsee keanu grabbing the wires every single time now 😂
Honestly it kind of adds to the slightly surreal vibe that Matrix had, it’s a similar flavor to the bullet time and slo-mo stuff.
Neo is someone entering the system and breaking the rules, I kind of like the meta-idea there.
No wonder Clint hasn't seen any movies, he's too busy following Jackie Chan around the world like the Grateful Dead.
Well... If you are to follow anyone like that... It might as well be Jackie Chan.
let's hope he doesn't follow him too much, or he'll also start saying bad things about hong kong
@@fillman86
yeahhhh... Jackie and mainline China, and Hong Kong... it is kind of a messy situation... Also, now you prompted me to look into the whole Hong Kong protests last summer. How it ended, if it ended etc etc. It just got lost in the mix of crazy stuff of all of last year...
It's kind of like with Tom Cruise. Love the guys work in so many ways. But there's always that big dianetics thing in the room one has to try to ignore...

Great vid

You guys should work with her more often. There’s definitely a lot of on screen chemistry
She's awesome
Amy and Gui are the two stunt people I get legit excited to see in the intro. I like the others they work with, don't get me wrong, but whenever Amy or Gui are on I know we're in for something special.
She's already been on this show several times now. So I don't know if you're saying you want even more or if you're seeing her for the first time
@@Blackd0nuts Second time for me (I'm newish to the channel and still clicking on random suggestions from YT). But, yes, MORE AMY PLEASE.
From what I've seen so far (the other video was where they looked at 'The Gate') she's awesomely capable, has great commentary to give, and seems like an all round lovely person to work with.
If Jackie Chan comes to this show, this channel will just go from epic to legendary level

I'm so glad they're keeping him in the mix. There's no replacing Clint.

One of the best episodes yet. Always love it when you get Amy in!
Yep. I call them the Yuen bros
I love Wren’s background appearances in episodes where he is not front and center. It’s become a mini game for me to find the Wren.

Two things: you should totally review the mask of zorro and also do a stunt episode with horses. (about horses or actually have horses either or is good)

Clint & Niko: SOMEBODY must know Jackie Chan.

Amy Johnston's one hell of a stuntwoman and martial artist queen, she is simply the best.
When they mentioned practice through repetition it reminded me of a quote that my teacher told me. They said, “ Don’t stop practicing until you get it right. Keep going until you can’t get it wrong”
sounds like its from Ranger's Apprentice
This reminds me of band teacher. 'Practice makes permanent not perfect.' If u do something wrong over and over you'll get stuck doing it wrong. Just. Idk. Memories.
The Mask of Zorro has some awesome sword fighting scenes. Including one where Zorro fights two guys with a sword in each hand. In fact Bruce Campbell does a similar scene in Army of Darkness. The difference? Bruce Campbell didn’t have a stuntman stand in for him. He performed the fight himself.
He had an unfair advantage: that chin of his.
I am definitely pro the Mask of Zorro, and the Legend of Zorro if they can get it too ^_^

There's just something about the Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung era of fight choreo. It is pure art
American films have more money than time so you do it once and fix it in post. China has more time than money so you do it until you get it right.
One film to react to is Zrodzeni Do Szabli. Among sword fighters, it has the most historically accurate sword fighting scenes in the history of cinema and was actually made by a fencing organization.
