@@dianacoulson4724 - I'm thinking not... it wouldn't be able to get back as far, at the right angle. Also not very wide (but maybe you're only gonna use it sideways with the side of the spoon and not getting the back of the tongue).
Edge roundness is also a factor. Some spoons have very rounded edges that won't scrape very well at all; others can be a very sharp edge and would scrape as well as you need it to, at least on the areas it can properly reach.

If you use a “soft” bristle toothbrush which is what dentists usually suggest so as not to wear down your tooth enamel, it will not do the job of removing the biofilm and gunk from your tongue, so no, it won’t work well! And toothbrushes that have the nubs on the backside for tongue cleaning don’t work well because the brush head is too small. I have always cleaned my tongue when I brush my teeth, that’s just how I was raised. I personally prefer and use the Orabrush that he showed in the video. It is plastic with silicone and the silicone bristles and I find it works well for me. It takes just a few passes (of course, everyone has a different size tongue) and I get my tongue nice and clean and start my day with a clean palette! I brush and use it morning and night and haven’t had cavities for years! The Orabrush isn’t too expensive, maybe $4-6, but you can check Dollar stores, if you have them where you live.
I have had and used the metal tongue scrapers but find them too hard and can hurt or damage taste buds. But that’s just me! Maybe I’m scraping too hard.
