    TIP when building the tree:
    - use *spruce tradoors* or *brown carpet* to hide lights if you don't want to see torches or light sources but have light around the tree
    - spruce slabs and stairs can add depth to the tree as well if you want to be extra

I'm currently building this tree but 8 times bigger. For each one block shown in the video I instead placed a 2 x 2 x 2 block in its place, which makes a big cube, so the tree ends up twice as tall and with four times the floor space (L x W x H). It also allows me to make more definition, like I have 8 x the pixels. I followed the video for the initial framework but also changing things up a bit.
I'll be using an estimated 32 000 wood blocks and 64 000 leaf blocks. I think it will take me about 80 hours with the decorating. I am doing it in creative. Honestly if I were to do it in survival I think 800 hours would not be enough.

So basically, I decided to do this whole thing as a dark oak tree. And added a bit different things. I decided to keep leaves there since dark oak trees are so dense, and also get less dense as it goes up. So that area is up there because I thought it was cool lol. I added a few tweaks to match my own design and it looks phenomenal! Thank you so much for your tutorial, my friends will be impressed lol.

Awesome, exactly what I was looking for, a tutorial with tip and explanations, I can make a decent large tree, but my problem was always roots and branches, I'm usually good with the trunk and making it a more natural shape, and with the canopy I cheated until now just adding a ton of leafs and blocks of wood to stop the from withering in a decent looking shape.
I'm about to make a "World Tree" as high as the max world height, it will take a ton of time but I need it huge to build large structures around it, like castles, air ships, portals, altars, floating islands and a bunch of other stuff, the tree itself will have glowing "fruit" hanging houses, kinda like the Halig Tree from Elden Ring.
It's been a while since I was so excited to build some stuff in minecraft.

havnt completed it yet but im doing this to shape up my creative world. me and my friends play on it and we like to make custom giant trees in forests. for mine i put it in the middle of the forest. def is looking much better so far. it really brings out the oak tree. im going to call it "the big oak" and i did make the leaves a bit droopy by adding some blocks hanging out. its beautiful. totally reccomend!

One of the things I think that should be pointed out about this build is that the planning alone to make it even (Taking into account the canopies and the diagonal axis' on them) must have taken an age. A serious amount of time and effort went into this. Well done mate.

Great video! It breaks down the strategies on how to tackle the build well. I knew I wanted to build a massive tree, but didn't really know where to start.
Building mine out of spruce logs and dark oak stairs, slabs, trapdoors, fences, and embeded sea lanterns so you can see the entire tree at night. Built the roots and stump on my SMP at spawn to serve as a community center for enchanting with water elevator to the top to access the nether roof portal. Filled the community center with glow berries, Spore blossoms, various other plants, and a free-roaming axolotl enclosure. The mid-levels I am using as a shop with a spiral staircase. Spawn is on the top of a hill so I really like how the roots turned out as I shaped them to to grip the hill and pop out of it at different angles.
Now I am moving on to the branch phase in a creative world with the plans to turn it into a schematic to copy in my SMP. Working on a World Edit server has definitely been a time saver. I copied and pasted the branches before manually adjusting their shapes. Unfortunately, I do not think that strategy will work on the final two canopies (At least with my limited knowledge of world edit).
It's the first time I added so much texture and detail to a build (other than the time I built a bank with a mirrored floor using glass and an inverse build under it. Thought the shape of the architecture was fairly simple). Looks way better than my house on the server atm haha. I will be saving a schematic of it when it's done for posterities sake.

Not only did you provide a world download with a step-by-step process, but the entire structure is built within the Structure Block limit. Thank you very much; I can actually take the time to learn how to build from this rather than being given a single finished project which is too large to actually export to an analysis world.

Building this at the center of my base in my survival world. Starting the project right now. I’ll comment once I’m done. Praying it doesn’t take too long but I should be prepared for the worst.

This is cool. I'm making a big tree that's "infected" by both kinds of the nether wood. I'm doing stripes that wrap around and continue into the leaves. This will make a nice template for the shape.

The best thing about trees is that they don’t have to be symmetrical in any way. Real trees have dips in the trunk, the roots are asymmetrical, the branches grow sporadically, and the leaves fall and grow back. You can mess up your planning royally and still get a really good result.

My idea for the tree house part is not just use inside as house, but just like the hanging lights, make small hanging houses and maybe make the tree little higher so you would have amazing view. Lastly i recomend a shader because without it view is kinda not good

Hey dude. Loved the video! One of the things I like that you did that I wished you did a bit more and that are common in some of my favorite build tutorials was the part where you just made all the wood stone and did a quick fly by to show it off. If you did that in some other steps it would have been so helpful but the tutorial was great either way! I just wished that there were a few more flybys so that we can take a quick look at the finished step.
