I'd still prefer to catch them on an ultra-light rod. Looks like a total blast, though! I miss those Wisconsin Friday fish fries! They do things a lot differently out here in Maine.
You can select what fish you want more accurately spearing than you can with hook and line. And with hook and line you have a higher mortality rate than spearing fishing when you select what fish uou are harvesting.

When did they make spearing fish, besides rough fish, in wisconsin legal? Or is this special regs for this body of water?
