talksport is a uk radio station, the clips are created from the radio shows and talking points. Portugal is still in the Euro's even if they're knocked out it would still be talked about on a sports radio station. The digital aspect, youtube, podcasts etc is only to reach a far bigger audience like any other business does. Let me be clear the Ronaldo video's are made purely out of what was talked about during the radio shows.
To me, it just shows the man really, deeply cares and wants so much to make a difference, to help his team and his country. He seems to operate at an intense, high level that many pundits don't seem to understand or appreciate. They most likely never gave the level of commitment that this man has over the years. He is not a saint by any stretch of the imagination but he is hardly an embarrassment. It's more likely pundits, who themselves, really never made the earth move, would love to see him fail and jump on any opportunity to put him down.

He is nowhere near world class any longer and we saw that in his final 6 months at United. His physicality fell off a cliff around 2 years ago towards the end of Ole's reign. Wasn't just because he was annoyed he was given every chance to score goals and had some horrendous misses / performances. He became a bit of an embarassment on the pitch at times for United. He's shown nothing since again anyone half decent to change that fact.
The Saudi League is so poor. If you put him in the Championship in England now he would struggle, hasn't got the physical assets now .

He may be at a point where he can no longer do the things he wants to, but he may be trying everything to still play the game. With all the money and all those accomplishments, maintaining his physique at his age shows that he must have a passion for the sport and that he wants to keep playing for as long as possible. But he may have feared being the one who lost the important game for his team and country. His passion for the game and waning abilities may bring about an unnerving realisation that he doesn't want to accept, but is inevitable. He really, really didn't want it to end that way. That's what I suspect.
