There is a way to get your mechanical engineering past 100. So you can get your mechanical engineer to deal stupid damage and also have stupid health. There is a video out there with a mechanical engineer two shotting the hull of a submarine with a boarding axe as a mechanic.
Ive never played Baro but i do have Space Station 13 wich is essentially the same,but with less ungodly horrors SS13 has terrorist clowns, murderous assistants we call “Greytiders” and engineers stabbing people
