Really thinking about doing my own spin off ho scale modeling of the middle and east end of Long Island. Mainly using Metro North F40PH, P42 and comet II commuter cars (since it's very hard to find prototypical LIRR equipment.) For the freight, I'd use a mix of NY&A as well as Conrail stuff.
I hear these guys a few times a week (at night) from my house. It's always after midnight when I hear them blowing their horn for the Pond road and Ocean avenue crossings in Ronkonkoma.

Some of those newer railcars have absolutely no graffiti coating them. Wonder if they were made graffiti-proof at the manufacturing facility?
